PDHS SPORTS – Taking a look at December athletics!
Girls Hockey
One thing that coaches Seibert and Halliday emphasised with this year’s team, was to play as a team with the goal of bringing the team’s level of play, no matter what level they might be at, to a higher level.

During a December 4th matchup, eleven out of fifteen players made the score sheet in their 10-2 win over North Park. Sydney Kipp led the way with 5 goals and 2 assists, Rowan Worrall with 2 goals and 3 assists and Reese Halliday and Faith Smith potting a goal each
On December 6th, the team had a different result, losing to St John’s 6-1 However, they bounced back on December 11th to squeeze by Assumption College 4-3 and won a decisive 8-3 game against North Park on December 13th .
Girls Volleyball
On November 30th , The Junior Girls lost to North Park 3 sets to 2 and the Senior team defeated the ladies of North Park 3-1. The juniors also lost to BCI 3-1 on December 11th but won three sets against St John’s on December 12th
In Senior action, the team defeated Brantford Collegiate 3 sets to 1 on December 11th , but lost three straight sets to St. John’s on December 12th .
Boys Basketball
The Junior team lost to BCI, while the senior team defeated BCI 72-34. Leading scorers were Jack Kelly 15 points, Alex Eder 12 points and Nathan Halliday with 11 points.
On December 14 the Junior Panthers were at home to face the Assumption Lions and beat the visitors 53-33. Leading scorers for the Panthers, were Canan Sherbino, Elliot Scheidel and Dexter Quesnel.
The Senior Panthers also faced Assumption and loss a close one 82-77. In spite off making 15three point scores, the lack of offensive rebounds the first three quarters of the game could have turned the game around. Jake Kelly led the Panthers in scoring 34 points, followed by Ben Zondag with 14. In spite of the loss, coach Petrella is proud of the progress both teams were making in comparison of lats year.
Boys Hockey
The St John’s Eagles topped the Panthers 3-1, but days later the Panthers beat North Park 4-2
