PARIS, - It was a day filled with joy, celebration, and heartfelt tributes as long-time Paris resident Joyce Bawcutt turned 100 years old on December 9th, 2023. The community came together to honour this remarkable milestone in the life of a woman who has dedicated herself to the betterment of Paris and its residents.

To commemorate this momentous occasion, a grand birthday party was organized at Telfer Place last

Saturday, from 1:30pm to 3:30pm.

The event was a gathering of Joyce Bawcutt's family, friends, and esteemed guests, including the Mayor, local dignitaries, and members of the news media. Joyce Bawcutt and her late husband Jack became beloved members of the Paris community when they immigrated to the town in the 1950s. Since then, they have selflessly devoted themselves to serving and improving the lives of their fellow residents. Both played vital roles in the community, with Jack serving as the Mayor and Joyce as the "first lady" of Paris for 17 years

In addition to their civic contributions, the Bawcutts have also been active participants in the local business and religious spheres. Joyce was the proud owner of Paris Yarns & Crafts, a cherished establishment that has brought creativity and joy to the community.
