A Long While
by: Farah Mae M. Miranda
It's been a long time
Since were all together Garnered At the same round table Under the same roof
It's been a long time
Since were all laughing in unison Each sharing their funny stories Of the day with no worries When mama call us for a meal At same round table were altogether
Has it been a long time?
Or just been a while? since were all travelling singing joyfully, packed at same car heading to the same destination we thought we'll at be
Was it really a long time ago? oh! I thought it was just yesterday like I was just born the other day embraced by your hugs and kisses It's-been-a-long-time heart was brimming with happiness
It's been a long time that day of dusk retrospection of that car crash Mom gave me her last tight embrace just to spare my life, -of her youngest child-
It's been a long time but seems to be a while you're all bathed with your own bloods holding hands together I, screaming with an intense pain of loosing you all of a sudden
It's - been - a -while since I walked down the aisle of burden gave my last
glance in your cold boddies sleeping endlessly in a rectangular box they call "coffin" , pale and still since I let go of you with the scent of Daffodills drowned you with my tears and sobs
It's been a long time but seems to be a while for the wound wasn't heal yet,
pain still fresh for an eight year old me wishing for a countless meal with you at same round table, under same roof of what they call home.
