Withering

By Kimberly Chiquillo

We have aspirations but not really visions. We want tomorrow but not the future. We see every fault but not any right ones. But could anyone see that everyone's blind? We made wars to create peace. We develop diseases to find cures. We invent things that destroys us. But why wouldn't anyone let the what ifs just be what is? We survive to be killed. We tear lives just to shed tears. We lose everything to win nothing. We break barriers to divide us. When it shouldn't end up ending lives. If only people just choose the power of love over love of power, If only people build churches not warships, If only people could just understand that not everything could be understood, Then no one would suffer the changes that changes makes. So no one would ever hear anyone die. And no one would say that they want to die. Now,tell me,would you just step forward or step up? Would you just let it choose you,and not you choose it? Would you just want the world to see you or you see the world. Would you rather change it, or it change you?
