WELCOME...

The past year has been a very busy one, with everybody seemingly wanting to get out and share fun times with friends and family. The majority of our shows and party nights sold out through the Autumn and we’re hoping that 2024 will continue where 2023 left off.

As usual, we’ve got a packed programme of shows and gigs for you – all your usual favourites and a nice selection of first timers to keep things fresh. We’re also proud to premiere a brand-new show, having provided our stage and facilities for their promotional video - Look out for The Ultimate Tribute Show from Pop Gods and be sure to grab your tickets.

We’ve got household names from the world of music, such as John Lydon – aka Johnny Rotten, Steve Harley, Paul Jones and Dave Kelly from now retired The Blues Band, plus returning Paul Young with his Tex Mex party band Los Pacaminos.

The very finest comedians the circuit has to offer will provide the laughs in our monthly Stand Up for Saturday Comedy Club. It’s now in its 14th year, and as fleet’s longest running regular comedy club, it’s still the only place to be on a Saturday if you want the best laughs in town.

With all your very favourite live tributes to some of the finest bands across a spectrum of genres, there’s enough music to satisfy most tastes. We have returning favourites, paying tribute to the likes of AC/DC, The Bee Gees, T-Rex, ELO, Oasis, Genesis, Guns & Roses, The Jam, Abba, Johnny Cash, Deep Purple & Led Zeppelin, Dire Straits, Meatloaf and many more. Plus, we’ve lined up some first time visitors, paying homage to REM, Neil Diamond, Spandau Ballet & Duran Duran, and a brand new party night from the creators of the hugely popular Cheesy Bingo Party, with The Ultimate Retro Disco Party, featuring the best of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, but with DJ battles, Karaoke, party dances and all the entertainment and audience participation you’d expect from them! This will be our big summer blow out before the schools break up, so party like you used to for one night only!

I hope you like what we’ve got in store and that you’ll continue to support your local entertainment venue.

June 2018 saw the British tribute band AC/DC UK embark on one of their biggest shows in the band’s history. Closing the Friday night of Graspop, the band played just after legendary headliner’s Iron Maiden to a packed out Metal Dome. The past several years have seen the band play several other notable shows and festivals alongside the likes of Alice Cooper, The Darkness, Steve Vai, Santana, Magnum, Within Temptation, Saxon, and more.

The most authentic tribute to the Bee Gees in the world.

The group has been touring for over 20 years, from the USA to the UK, throughout Europe, the Middle East and Caribbean, recreating the look and sound of the Bee Gees.

Capturing a full history of the iconic band, “Stayin’ Alive” includes classic songs from a back catalogue crammed full of hits such as “To Love Somebody”, “Massachusetts”, “I Got to Get a Message”, “Jive Talking”, “More Than A Woman”, “Night Fever”, “You Should Be Dancing”, “Tragedy”, “Stayin’ Alive” and many many more.

T-REXTASY FRIDAY FEBRUARY 2ND BAR: 7:30pm | DOORS: 8:00pm | SHOW: 8:30pm Marc Bolan, with his band T.Rex, was one of the most flamboyant and charismatic stars of the original glam rock era. It’s hard to believe that 40 years have now passed since Marc’s tragic fatal car accident and fans have mourned the loss of a truly individual, inspirational talent ever since. Bolan’s special ingredient of Rock-a-Boogie songs including ‘20th Century Boy’, ‘Get it On’ and ‘I Love to Boogie’ have ensured that Marc Bolan and T.Rex have become one of the most memorable and enduring bands of the seventies.

T.Rextasy have now been performing around the world for over 20 years, a career that ironically outlives Marc’s very own T.Rex. They have become widely accepted as the world’s only official tribute show dedicated to Marc Bolan & T.Rex, and the only band endorsed and approved by Marc’s family, estate and catalogue management, not to mention original members of T.Rex. The band has been described by many as ‘beyond the boundaries of tribute’.

SATURDAY FEBRUARY 3RD BAR: 7:30pm | DOORS: 8:00pm | SHOW: 8:30pm One of the UK’s most popular Live touring bands, and placing themselves squarely in the Americana genre, Los Pacaminos play the very best in Tex Mex Border music from The Texas Tornadoes and Ry Cooder to Los Lobos and even Roy Orbsion.

The other band members are guitarist Jamie Moses (Queen, Tom Jones, Mike & The Mechanics, The Pretenders), songwriter Drew Barfield (The Keys, The Big Heat, songs for Joe Jackson, Paul Young, Level 42, Cathy Dennis), Pedal Steel guitarist Melvin Duffy (Squeeze, Robbie Williams, First Aid Kit, The Waterboys, Ray Davies), Bassist Stevie Greetham (Paul Young, Joan Armatrading, Tim Finn, Julia Fordham), drummer Mark Pinder (Paul Young, Alison Moyet) and newest member on accordion/keys Steve “Woody” Oakman (Paul McCartney, Chris Montez, Little Eva, Tony Christie). Lead vocals are mostly shared between Paul, Jamie & Drew.

This is a Tequila fuelled Tex Mex party night, as each venue becomes the perfect cantina setting for a great night’s rocking with the cactus sharp, tequila filled, stetson wearing, magnificent 7, Los Pacaminos!!!

PAUL JONES & DAVE KELLY SATURDAY FEBRUARY 10TH BAR: 7:00pm | DOORS: 7:30pm | SHOW: 8:00pm The Blues Band are now retiring from touring, but their two lead vocalists will continue with their Acoustic Duo concerts.

Ruggedly durable and timeless, the blues is perhaps more popular today than it has ever been.

Young musicians still cut their teeth on its enticing, 12-bar appeal, but its real rewards, true virtuosity, poise and knowledge, only come with age.

Founder members of The Blues Band, Paul Jones and Dave Kelly’s tangled and colourful roots go way back into the true undergrowth of the tradition. As well as their own original material, they not only know and perform the work of the greats, ranging from Howlin’ Wolf, John Lee Hooker through to Sonny Boy Williamson – they actually played alongside them, and enjoyed their friendship.

A live acoustic set by this dynamic duo is an occasion you’ll remember. If you’re a true Blues fan, everything you need is here.

In an all live show featuring soaring strings, striking vocal harmonies and playing all the much loved songs from ELO’s hit-filled library including Evil Woman, Telephone Line, Don’t Bring Me Down and Mr Blue Sky. Not only flawlessly recreating the wonderful music of ELO, it’s a spectacular live show from start to finish. The attention to detail is incredible and many have hailed them as being better than the real thing! They have performed at Wembley Stadium, The National Indoor Arena, Manchester Academy, and are the only band to perform at the now world famous Glastonbudget Festival EVERY single year it’s been running.

Oasish don’t use cheap imitation copies of the real band’s instruments or clothes either! The “Noel” actually uses the exact same model of guitar, a Gibson ES355, that the real Noel Gallagher plays.

They are also no strangers to the TV screens, having appeared on The One Show (BBC), The Gadget Show (Channel 5), Inside Out (ITV), GMTV (ITV), Sky News, The Culture Show (BBC) and numerous other broadcasts all across the television network. COME UP AND SEE ME… AND OTHER STORIES SUNDAY APRIL 28TH BAR: 6:30pm | DOORS: 7:00pm | SHOW: 7:30pm A prodigious kid who grew up on the poetry of Eliot and Lawrence, the prose of Steinbeck, Woolf, and Hemingway, and the music of Bob Dylan, Steve Harley soon realised his life would be preoccupied with words and music. He met The Rolling Stones as a kid, and the die was cast. After working as a newspaper reporter, he switched to rock’n’roll, enjoying huge success with Cockney Rebel and such hits as Sebastian and the iconic Make Me Smile (Come Up And See Me).

Acting off-Broadway and in London, he recorded the title track of The Phantom Of The Opera with Sarah Brightman, while also finding time to write for Rod Stewart, among others, before playing Glastonbury Festival three times, the Isle of Wight festival and receiving numerous awards. And now, it’s time to reflect. Come Up And See Me… And Other Stories, will feature music and stories, as Steve tells stories about his career, while playing acoustic versions of the biggest hits. Steve will be accompanied by longstanding band member Barry Wickens.

I COULD BE WRONG, I COULD BE RIGHT SUNDAY MAY 5TH BAR: 6:30pm | DOORS: 7:00pm | SHOW: 7:30pm He’s a legend and an icon, a revolutionary and an immortal. John Lydon – aka Johnny Rotten – changed the face of music and sparked a cultural revolution.

The frontman and lyricist of the Sex Pistols and Public Image Ltd (PiL) caused a political earthquake and transformed music for good. In his spoken word show, I Could Be Wrong, I Could Be Right, Lydon is touring the UK. He will talk about how he sees life, along with his unique and extraordinary career, and take audience questions during a pyrotechnic, one-off tour.

USEFUL INFORMATION BOX OFFICE OPENING TIMES

STANDING/DANCING

The Box Office is open Monday - Saturday between 10am - 2pm (closed Wednesdays) and is open later on performance days. Tickets can be purchased at any time via the website (fees apply).

It is the nature of some events that audience members will stand /dance. Refunds will not be made on these occasions but we may be able to re-seat you if you speak to a member of staff.

FEES

The Function bar is open before the show and during the interval. There is an additional bar inside the auditorium which is open throughout and after most cabaret shows.

From 2nd January 2024 a £1.00 per ticket fee is charged to all telephone and counter sales to cover the rising cost of administration, Box Office and banking costs. Online fees are also charged at £1.00 per ticket. Tickets can be posted for £1.50 postage fee if requested.

ACCESS Our performance spaces, bars and toilets are all accessible.

To ensure a comfortable visit, please inform our staff at time of booking if you require any further assistance.

REFUNDS Once purchased, we’re unable to offer refunds or exchanges on tickets unless an event is cancelled.

We’re always looking for good team members for a variety of roles within the venue. If you’d be interested in joining us as a member of show staff, or would like to see shows for free and support your community venue as a passionate volunteer we would love to hear from you!

Under 18s are welcome to attend the majority of our shows when accompanied by an adult. This is left to the discretion of the parent/guardian. Some performances do carry a suggested age limit as we feel they are not suitable for a younger audience. If in doubt, please check with the Box Office.
