The turning point came when a social media influencer—a local fan of their food—made an offer: he would promote The Taco Spot online in exchange for meals. Around the same time, a Google SEO specialist approached with a similar proposal to run targeted ads. With nothing to lose, the brothers agreed.

At first, Jorge and Jesus were skeptical. They didn’t fully understand how social media and digital marketing worked. But when the lines started to grow—slowly at first, then faster—they realized the value of promoting their business.

Still, the cost of scaling up their marketing was a burden they couldn’t ignore. They had a difficult choice to make: pay for ads or keep up payments on Jorge’s pickup truck.

Three months later, Jorge’s truck was repossessed. But
