TAIAO WHANAU DAY To celebrate the season of Matariki, Te Tairāwhiti Arts Festival and Rongowhakaata Iwi Trust will be hosting a planting and birdwatching workshop at Te Wherowhero Lagoon. Get outside with your friends and whānau to celebrate Matariki - we will be planting native trees and shrubs to restore the whenua. A fantastic day for the whole whānau to learn more about the taiao and the importance of the Matariki Season for planting and animals. All ages are welcome.

WHAT TO BRING • Sturdy covered shoes • Weather protection (sun or rain) • Snacks

• Drinking water • Gloves (if you have them).
