Kaumātua Tours

Offering kaumātua the chance to visit the vibrant and exciting exhibitions taking place during the Matariki Season in our beautiful city, Tūranganui-a-Kiwa Gisborne.

These tours are designed to help kaumātua access the stunning visual arts on display throughout Te Tairāwhiti Arts Festival which have been created by some of the most renowned artists in Te Ao Māori. A kaitiaki (host) shares the rich history, journeys, and explanation of why and how the various galleries and exhibitions have come to fruition. Tours will end with a spread of kai and music for kaumātua to enjoy.
