TAIRĀWHITI MUSEUM
EDUCATION PROGRAMMES The Museum welcomes all of our Tairāwhiti school students to participate in their education programmes that are designed to be informative, interactive and hands-on experiences and are FREE to all kura in the region. During the Matariki season, students will be introduced to the Māori lunar calendar and recognise that Matariki marks the beginning of the Māori New Year. Take part in the Museum’s interactive programme to learn about Matariki and its connections to whenua, whānau, kai, and kōrero. Plus, get up-close to taonga from the handling collection in order to understand the connection between people, environments and the stars. Book in now at the Museum!
