TOI AKE MĀORI ART GALLERY Toi Ake, as a collective, is built on the foundations of Mātauranga Māori. Their practice is informed by tohunga and pūkenga from the creative council of Te Tairāwhiti. The collective say their Gallery is an ongoing expression of the continuum of Ngā Toi Māori that brings the knowledge of their tūpuna into a modern and evolving context.
