TŪPARA Gallery will host an exhibition of paintings by Walter (Bub) Dewes (Ngāti Porou, Ngāti Kahungunu) from his collection named, Year Of The Mask. Dewes says he loves to paint abstract faces/masks, which represent feelings, tīpuna and whānau. Hidden in these are different symbols like birds, kōwhaiwhai, feathers, leaves — all sorts of elements, which all have meaning. Join us at TŪPARA Gallery for the opening, artist talks and live painting events with Walter Dewes and Nick Tupara.
