The Finnish Vocational Education and Training (VET) system develops secondary competence for work and for life in general. In the Finnish VET system, work and studies are completely intertwined. VET studies combine real work tasks with national competence requirements. The competence gained is tested and assessed at actual workplaces in cooperation with employers. Therefore, the Finnish VET system is very motivating and rewarding.

Key words pertaining to the Finnish VET system include competence, outcome and flexibility. The Finnish VET system is designed for learners with individual study paths and goals and for non-stop intake of students. National qualifications (EQF 4-5) provide security in the labour market. With further education services, one profession can be supplemented with entrepreneurship, management or consulting or converted to a totally new career. In Finland, VET means lifelong learning opportunities.

All TAKK needs to do is listen and respond with high quality. TAKK’s vision is to be the most desirable developer of vocational competence in the Tampere Region. TAKK trainers have close connections with working life and a strong work history in TAKK’s
