ondering how the world would be without education, Union Minister of State for Home, Kiren Rijiju shared a vision for the future of education and India’s growth at the Guwahati session of Taleem ki Taquat on March 11, 2016. The conference, the sixth in the series organised by the Rashtriya Institute of Skill and Education (RISE), saw the presence of experts from various fields including Prof Ved Prakash, Chairman, University Grants Commission; Ashish Kumar Chauhan, MD and CEO, Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE); RS Mooshahary (Retd. IPS), former Governor of Meghalaya; SS Banerjee, Chief General Manager, IDBI Bank Limited; Mahbubul Hoque, Chancellor, USTM Meghalaya and Zafar Sareshwala, Chancellor, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU). Programme Director and RISE Chairperson Dimple Kapani said she was gratified at the Guwahati response and hoped for more such initiatives in the North East. The minister, who was the Chief Guest for the occasion, said that the Narendra Modi government had launched ‘very good schemes’ for the development of minorities in the country.
