ife’s fast pace + a recent transformation + once in demand products, today easily accessible = extraordinarily increase in possessions. The addiction to acquisition and effortless disposal, buying and consuming. Chain stores offering products made in countries where ‘fair pay’ is a foreign expression have flooded the market with cheap, worthless, low-quality and cliché ‘goods’. They are easy to get and, naturally, easy to get rid of. Fortunately, the European market and its conscientious consumers are alert and sensitive enough to notice articles created locally and on an individualistic scale. Crafted to last longer and environment considerate.

The products, with their warmth and form, as proposed by the fivetimesone group have a positive influence on the purchaser; these are products in touch with their surroundings. The first two collections of poufs and pillows, stONE and tONE, are a subjective depiction of nature, which the fivetimesone group observes and keeps in mind even during the process of production. From experience and the observation of our society’s ubiquitous consumption, they have embarked on creation in touch with ecology, and with little investment, in workplaces in the local market. The process of production is a mix of traditional, ancient felting craftsmanship and cutting-edge technology. The wool is from Merino sheep, known as the best in the world. It has a very low rate of water absorption, does not irritate the skin and does not dirty easily. The seamless pillows and poufs are hand-made by local craftsmen who are supervised by designers. This additionally raises the worker’s qualifications by refining their sense of aesthetics. The use of high-quality materials that ensure long-lasting usage is one of the groups’ goals. Another important element is to broaden the customer’s knowledge of what they are buying and where it comes from. The resulting products resemble pebble stones and complement any household interior very well. This could be in some ways a graphic joke of transferring a natural form into a functional design which brings a smile on the face of everyone when they discover, when they look closely, that it’s not really a stone. And the customer’s smile is the biggest reward and best motivation for fivetimesone.
