Over 30,000 attended performances last year during the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center’s inaugural season. Now, you can join the fun as the 2011-2012 season begins with CURTAIN UP, a full day of FREE festivities with live performances, puppeteers, ticket give-aways, food, free gifts and more! CURTAIN UP has something for everyone. For young families, the fun starts with complimentary face painting by Curly Sue and Friends, spectacular puppet shows and story telling time with Family Fun’s Princess Reads-A-Lot. Music lovers will enjoy live performances from a wide range of performers including a Barbara Streisand tribute by artist Carla DelVillaggio, Orchestra Miami’s renowned chamber trio and rising talents of tomorrow from the Aventura Marketing Council’s Young Stars. Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida adds fire to their signature ballet style with a sizzling flamenco performance, and laughter is in the air with stand-up comedy from some of today’s top comic talents. “Over 800 people came out for our first Curtain Up! event last year,” notes Steve Clark, General Manager of the Aventura Center. “This year promises to be even bigger and better, as many first year patrons return to try winning free tickets and to secure the best seats for the new season.”
