All hands on deck for Brockville’s All Ships Festival By DOREEN BARNES
As the rain fell and the thunder rumbled in the distance, this year’s All Ships Festival in Brockville came to an end. Although the attendance figures were low and Sunday brought intermittent rain showers, the All Ships Festival 2015 celebration was enjoyed by those who turned out for the fun. “I actually saw it on Facebook,� said Patricia Henderson of Ottawa. “Somebody said they were going to the Brockville All Ships Festival.� Henderson’s two children – Benjamin, four-and-a-half years old and Ellen, two-and-a-half – were busy playing on the inflated slide with other children. “It’s not far, as it only took us an hour to get here,� said Henderson. “This festival is great.� As well, Reverend Wendy MacLean of Christ United Church in Lyn along with Michel Gavoury liked what they had seen so far as they made their way to the Rainbow Warrior - Drumming Circle.
