WHAT’S HAPPENING AT STEVENS

Demetrice Reeves A REAL HERO

Sunday, December 19th Demetrice Reeves showed incredible quick thinking, judgement and action under pressure when he likely saved not only his own life, but that of his student and those of the motoring public. He was the passenger when his student became unresponsive at the wheel on 1-75 in Pompano Beach, FL. Demetrice immediately pulled the truck and trailer brakes, unbuckled the student, removed him from the driver’s seat and regained control of the truck all while it was still in motion. Once he regained control of the equipment, he was then able to get them safely stopped.

Once stopped, Demetrice then called 911 and was able to quickly guide emergency personnel to their location so that his student could receive the medical attention he needed.

You are a true hero, Demetrice, and the Stevens Transport family recognizes you as an outstanding driver, citizen, and employee for going above and beyond in a time of crisis.

Marcus attended Road Master truck driving school in Jacksonville, FL and still continues to follow advice his instructors gave him while he was in training. He started his truck driving career with the dream of being his own boss, and attributes his success to great work ethic, consistency, and staying under the radar. In his free time, Marcus enjoys fishing, shooting guns and playing guitars.

Terry Boyd brings home 2nd Place Company Driver of 2018 for Stevens Transport. He started his career in trucking because he enjoys the freedom the road brings and attributes his success to hard work and focus. Terry has 2 sons and 3 grand-children and enjoys riding his Harley when he is not working.

Mark Needham wins 3rd Place Company Driver of 2018 for Stevens Transport. He attended Road Master Driving School in Tampa, FL. and remembers his very first solo trip vividly. He loves driving and attributes his success to his impeccable work ethic and diligence. In his free time, he enjoys playing guitar, sports and fast cars and says he is a big teddy bear, despite what some may think.

Fransisco attained his CDL at Road Master in Dune, NC. He enjoys being a trainer and passing on knowledge to someone else.

Fransisco likes to keep up with each of his students to see everything they have accomplished. He appreciates working for an industry leader and attributes his success to the opportunities that Stevens Transport has given him to further his career.

William earned his CDL with Stevens Transport Driving Academy and enjoys teaching and training for a living. He attributes his success to following the rules and his work ethic. William says paying attention to details such as planning ahead for weather and routes is crucial to a successful driving career.

He vividly remembers the first time he drove into Hunt’s Point in his truck and says it was an forgettable experience.

Mario attended Georgia Truck Driving school to fulfill his childhood dream of becoming a truck driver. He has over a million safe miles under his belt and appreciates the top-of-theline equipment in which he operates.

Mario attributes his success to the support staff at Stevens Transport and says listening and paying attention is important to a successful truck driving career. When not working, he enjoys physical activity at the gym.

Rodney attended Georgia Truck Driving school and clearly recalls the day he got the keys to his own truck with Stevens Transport Contractor Division. He attributes his success to his support team at Stevens and says paying attention and staying focus is key to a successful driving career. He came to Stevens Transport seeking a different life style and has enjoyed it since day one.

Runner Up Contract Trainer: Rodney Carr

Lajasmine and Corey Cox attained their CDL at Lone Star school in Houston, TX. They became truck drivers to be able to spend more time together as a couple. They enjoy being able to travel the country as a team and appreciate all of the relationships they have built at Stevens Transport. Purchasing their first truck was an unforgettable experience for them. When these two aren’t conquering roads, they enjoy fishing and exercising.

1st Place Team of the Year: Lajasmine & Corey Cox

Jeffrey and Diane Porter both attended Careers World Wide in Keenesburg, Colorado, and were hired by Stevens in 2015. They attribute their success to the family and friends at Stevens that set them up for success. The couple decided to become truck drivers when they were both looking for career changes and a way to see the country. The aspects they each love about Stevens is the work the company puts in to keep their drivers happy. They also love the quality of the equipment that they get to use every day.
