PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

KVF 2018 IMPACT REPORT

2018 was a year of change and growth for Kline Veterans Fund. Through the generosity of our donors, we were able to make a significant impact on assisting homeless and indigent veterans in the Las Vegas Valley. Our programs supported veteran families with temporary and permanent housing, utilities assistance, employment and medical payments necessary to sustain housing, service dog training for PTSD and other issues, and in many other ways. As in prior years, most revenue was generated by our Poppy Drives centered around the Memorial Day and Veterans Day holidays. These efforts were fortified by new volunteers and community partners like Caesars Salute with whom we hosted community events like Veterans Appreciation Day with the Las Vegas 51’s. 2018 saw an increase of over 25% in veteran assistance over the prior year. We continued our monthly support of two major programs: U.S. Vets Hud-2 leveraged permanent housing initiative and The Shade Tree for female veterans and their children and pets, together providing shelter for over 20,000 bed nights. The largest increase in aid was on behalf of indigent veterans in need of emergency help to secure housing or prevent them from becoming homeless. We are beginning 2019 with several new developments including the addition of an executive director and advisory board, rebranding of our logo and website, development of community partnerships and expanding outreach programs like the Sidney Blum Memorial Scholarship to be awarded to a CCSD senior who is the child or grandchild of a veteran. We strive to improve outcomes for our clients and the Veterans Service Organizations we support and with your help we can do even more. Thank you for your support. Steve Seiden President

OUR FUTURE

KVF 2018 IMPACT REPORT

Most of our clients just need a little help to get by. In fact, less than 3 percent of the veterans we assisted last year returned for additional support. Our aim is to continue supporting requests for emergency assistance while expanding our programs and services to increasing need. Outreach through poppy drives, fundraisers and partnerships will continue to increase both corporate and individual donations. In 2019 we will increase initiatives that support female veterans, which currently account for 25 percent of our total requests. In May we will present the first Sidney Blum Memorial Scholarship to one veteran-dependent Clark County high school graduate. We are also deepening our commitment to sponsor service dogs for vets with PTSD and mobility issues. Thank you for your support of local veterans.
