Surat police raid, currency printing factory seized from Chennai, Rs 17 lakh fake notes found

Sanjay Singh Rathore/Surat: Surat city police has seized a currency printing factory from Chennai. Along with this, Surya Selvaraj, the main accused for printing fake notes, has also been arrested by Surat SOG. 17 lakh Indian currency notes which were fake have been recovered from the accused. It has also been revealed that this accused has sent fake notes worth 2 crore 12 lakh 38 thousand rupees to different states so far.

Counterfeit currency factory found in Surat

The Amroli police in Surat was tipped off by an alert citizen that Shantilal Mewada named Easam was circulating fake currency notes in the market. So in this whole matter, Shantilal Mewada, Vishnu Mewada were arrested by the police. Subsequently, Easam, who used to supply fake notes to Shantilal and Vishnu, who lived in Bangalore, was also arrested by the police and his name is revealed to be Michael. During interrogation of the accused named Michael by Surat, it was noticed that Michael who was supplying fake notes to Shantilal Mewada was getting these fake notes from Surya Selvaraj residing in Chennai.

A raid was carried out with the help of the Chennai Police, so the SOG, along with the Chennai Police, on the basis of a tip-off, arrested the accused at Surya's house in the early hours of April 21.

A factory for printing fake Indian currency notes was also found from the house of the accused. Fake currency notes worth Rs 17 lakh have been seized by the police from the house of the accused. Apart from this, three color printers, cutter machine, lamination and hitting machine, 70 pieces of marker security thread and 20 pieces of china paper have also been seized.

After questioning the accused Surya about the notes printed on the stamp paper agreement, the police got information that he was working in the stock market in 2016-17. Then there was a loss and he took this route to earn money in a shortcut. A course in 3D animation was also conducted by the accused and this gave him the idea to make the note. Then he learned to make notes by searching different details through internet. The accused then set up a company named Right Way Capital in 2022 and he used to make agreements with customers on stamp paper whose paper he found suitable for making fake currency notes and then started making notes in 2022.

Security thread originating from Bihar

4 In the month of August 2022, the accused bought the equipment for making notes and started printing fake notes at his home. First of all he succeeded in printing fake notes. Meanwhile, a person from the state of Bihar came in contact with him through the internet and ordered cotton china paper and security thread from him to make fake notes. Important thing can be said that after printing this note, he gave fake notes of 50,000 rupees to a person in Tamil Nadu at the price of 15 thousand rupees. The police investigation revealed that from December 2022 to date, the accused Michael had taken 79 lakh rupees from Surya and the accused had collected 15 lakh rupees in exchange of fake notes of 79 lakhs.
