Finally, after a debate on this law, the law was passed unanimously in the assembly. Now, on Monday, the governor of Gujarat state has given the seal of approval to implement this new law. Now according to this law, a punishment of up to ten years and a fine of up to 1 crore rupees has been provided for the person who splits the paper, if the accused is an examinee, then he has a punishment of up to three years and a fine of up to one and a half lakhs. Apart from this the law has been strengthened with many strict provisions. Now after the Governor's approval, this new law along with the Government Gazette will now be applicable during the upcoming government recruitments.
