FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear Members,

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this year’s Falltober Festival. It was a fantastic evening t e spirit of our San Jose community. We look forward to carrying that same energy into one of our most c Oyster Roast on Friday, October 24th. Please note that it will be held one week earlier this year so our fa ween. We also have the always popular member-member golf and tennis events as well as the Long Drive Contest to highlight this month.

I want to remind everyone that Board elections are underway This is an important opportunity for every member to help shape the leadership and future direction of our Club Ballots must be submitted by Wednesday, October 8th, and I encourage you to take part in this vital process

From a financial standpoint, we are pleased to share that, based on current projections, we expect meet our annual operating budget This is a testament to the diligence of our staff in managing operations responsibly On the capital side, we are continuing to invest in our facilities The fitness center has been fully updated with new equipment, and this winter we will re-marcite the pool The pool will be closed starting in November until completion of the project in February While this project is necessary for safe operations next pool season, it also triggered the first step in evaluating the overall design and function of the pool area, one of the Club’s most beloved amenities and one with significant potential for enhancement.

The reinvestment in our club using your capital dues ensures that San Jose remains vibrant, competitive, and positioned for the future. Clubs that continually invest in their facilities not only preserve but enhance the member experience, creating lasting value and ensuring that future generations can enjoy the same high standards we do today. Soon, we will launch an overall facilities plan tied to our strategic priorities. This process will include opportunities for member input and ultimately provide us with a holistic plan for our overall facilities. We continue to strengthen our financial position so we will be well-positioned to execute these plans in a purposeful manner.

There is much to be excited about as we look ahead. With your continued support, San Jose grows stronger each year, and together we are building a Club that honors our history while embracing a bright future.

Warm Regards,

Will Morgan

San Jose Country Club President

CELEBRATING 100 YEARS AT SAN JOSE

Dear San Jose Country Club Members,

This year marks a truly special milestone, 100 years of our historic Donald Ross golf course here at San Jose Country Club! As we celebrate a century of golf, we are especially excited to highlight the next generation of golfers: our juniors.

Kids Golf at San Jose is all about building skills, confidence, and a love for the game in a fun, encouraging environment. From beginners picking up a club for the first time to experienced juniors looking to sharpen their competitive edge, our program is designed to meet every child where they are and help them grow.

Throughout the fall season, junior golfers can look forward to:

Weekly Clinics & Practices with our professional staff

On-Course Learning to gain real playing experience

Fun Skills Challenges & Games that keep golf exciting

Opportunities to Celebrate 100 Years by playing the same course generations of golfers have enjoyed since 1925

As we honor the rich history of our Donald Ross course, we are proud to see our youngest members carrying the game forward into the next century. The future of golf at San Jose is bright and it starts with our kids.

We can’t wait to see your juniors out on the course this season!

With Heartfelt Appreciation, The San Jose Country Club Team

Congratulations...

Stephanie Connelly Eiswerth went back-to-back rounds of 69–69 to win by one shot and secure her spot in next year’s National Club Pro at Bandon Dunes!

Hayes Farley finished strong with 72–71, tying for 5th and qualifying once again.

That makes three years in a row for both of them!

Dear San Jose Members,

I would like to express my gratitude for the approval of the new Toro lease package.

This equipment lease will encompass a range of essential machinery, including new fairway mowers, rough mowers, walk-behind tee mowers, greens mowers, approach mowers, and a 300gallon sprayer. This new equipment is critical to our ongoing efforts to enhance the conditioning and maintenance of our Donald Ross golf course. The mowers will feature attachments that allow for grain manipulation, resulting in more uniform playing surfaces.

The increased number of mowers will facilitate the completion of mowing tasks in a more efficient timeframe, thereby allowing us to direct our attention to areas that often receive less focus. Furthermore, the addition of another GPS sprayer will enable us to treat our playing surfaces more swiftly and with minimal impact on play.

Once again, this progress would not be possible without your support.

Thank you for your continued commitment.

Cordially,

HALLOWEEN BARK RECEIPE

INGREDIENTS

200g white chocolate

1 tsp orange food coloring

75g dark chocolate

1 tsp black food coloring

70g orange, yellow and brown sweets, such as sugar-coated chocolate balls, popping candy, chocolate-coated peanuts, candy corn, sprinkles.

15g edible eyes

INSTRUCTIONS

Line a 23 x 33cm baking tray with baking parchment. Melt the white chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water, making sure the bowl doesn’t touch the water, or microwave in 5second bursts until smooth. Stir through the orange food coloring and set aside.

In a separate bowl, melt the dark chocolate using the same method, then mix in the black colouring.

Pour the melted orange coloured chocolate into the lined tray and spread to the sides to an even layer. Drizzle over the black coloured chocolate and swirl it with the end of a skewer to make a pattern. Evenly sprinkle over the colored sweets and edible eyes. Chill for 1-2 hrs until set, then break into shards. Will keep for up to two weeks in an airtight container.
