FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear Members,

As we enter the holiday season, I’d like to take a moment to share a few updates and reflections on a great year at San Jose Country Club.

Following our recent Board Election, I’m pleased to welcome our newest members to the Board of Governors Chris Chapman, John Murphy, Bucky Buchanan, and Steve Simmons. Each brings valuable experience, passion, and perspective that will help guide the continued progress of our Club We thank them for their willingness to serve, and we extend our gratitude to all members who participated in this year’s election

I also want to take a moment to recognize the outstanding condition of our golf course The playing surfaces and overall presentation are exceptional, and that is a direct reflection of the hard work and dedication of our Golf Course Superintendent and his entire team Please join me in thanking them for their continued commitment and great pride they take in their work each day Let’s do our part to show our appreciation by practicing the golf etiquette and course care our course deserves

The holiday season is quickly approaching, and it’s truly one of the most special times to be part of San Jose. From our Thanksgiving celebrations to the beloved Tree Lighting Ceremony and Santa Brunch, the Club comes alive with activity, family traditions, and the warmth of community. We hope you’ll join us in making memories throughout this festive season.

Looking ahead, your Board remains focused on planning for the future and investing in the long-term success of our Club. We are committed to putting our capital dollars to work in meaningful ways, beginning with upcoming projects that focus on enhancing the pool area and improving the overall look, feel, and function of our facilities. These investments are essential to ensuring that San Jose continues to thrive and deliver an exceptional experience for generations to come.

Thank you for your continued support and engagement. As a membership, we are building on the strong foundation that makes San Jose Country Club a truly special place to belong.

Warm Regards,

Will Morgan San Jose Country Club President

CELEBRATING 100 YEARS AT SAN JOSE

Dear San Jose Country Club Members,

As we approach the end of another incredible year at San Jose Country Club, we are filled with gratitude and pride for the memories made and milestones achieved together. This year has been nothing short of remarkable, filled with camaraderie, laughter, competition, and celebration. From unforgettable member events and lively tournaments to elegant private gatherings and holiday traditions, every moment has reflected the spirit and warmth that define our San Jose family. This year also holds special significance as we celebrate 100 years of golf at San Jose Country Club. Since our founding in 1925, golf has been at the heart of our community, a tradition that began on our lush fairways nearly a century ago and continues

to thrive today. Designed by the legendary Donald Ross, our course has long been regarded as one of Jacksonville’s most classic and beloved golf experiences. Through the years, it has hosted countless tournaments, witnessed generations of families learning and loving the game, and remained a timeless backdrop for friendships both old and new.

Just as our course has evolved, so too has our home. Our beautiful clubhouse, built in 1947, has stood as a symbol of tradition, hospitality, and southern charm for 78 years. Over the decades, it has been lovingly renovated and restored, always with care to preserve its historic character while ensuring it meets the needs of today’s members.

Whether it’s the warmth of the dining room, the laughter echoing from the terrace, or the simple joy of gathering after a round of golf, the clubhouse remains the heart of our community.

Through every change and every season, one thing has always remained the same: our people. Our members are the foundation of San Jose Country Club, the reason we continue to grow, evolve, and thrive after a century. Without you, this place would simply be a building and a golf course. With you, it is home.

As we look ahead to the holidays and to another bright year on the horizon, we take a moment to say thank you, for your passion, your participation, and your unwavering pride in this club. Here’s to 100 years of golf, 78 years of cherished memories in our clubhouse, and to the countless moments yet to come.

Here’s to you, our members, our family. Here’s to San Jose Country Club, 100 years strong, and still home.

With Heartfelt Appreciation, The San Jose Country Club Team

Huge Congratulations...

To our very own Stephanie Connelly Eiswerth on being named the 2024 PGA Female Player of the Year! We couldn’t be more proud and grateful to have Stephanie representing San Jose Country Club with such talent, dedication, and grace both on and off the course.

Join us in celebrating this incredible achievement, way to go, Stephanie!

Dear San Jose Members,

As fall arrives and cooler temperatures settle in, we shift our focus from routine mowing to important details that may have been overlooked during the summer months. Over the next few months, our plan includes cleaning up beds, lifting tree canopies, and trimming our perimeter hedges. In collaboration with Dr. Brosnan, we have adjusted our treatment plan for Poa Annua and will dedicate a significant amount of time to scouting and applying products aimed at reducing the severity of Poa. It's important to note that these products may cause some turf damage. With the decrease in temperature and sunlight at this time of year, Bermudagrass—our warmseason grass is not actively growing and may struggle to recover from cart traffic, divots, pitch marks, and other injuries. Therefore, we will remain vigilant in our efforts to protect the golf course and the club's asset.

Cordially,
