FROM THE

PRESIDENT

Dear Members, As we begin a new year at San Jose Country Club, I am honored to serve as President in 2026 and to work alongside the Board of Governors, our committees, and the management team as we continue to build on the Club’s strong foundation. I would like to thank Will Morgan for his outstanding leadership as President in 2025. His steady guidance, thoughtful decision-making, and focus on the Club’s long-term health have positioned San Jose well for the future. I also extend my gratitude to the Board of Governors and our many committees for their dedication, collaboration, and countless hours of service. Looking ahead, the Board is initiating two important long-range planning efforts as part of the Strategic Plan put together in 2023 — one focused on the golf course and one on Club facilities. These efforts mark the beginning of a thoughtful, deliberate, and inclusive process that will unfold over time. On the golf side, we will welcome Andrew Green to begin development of a Golf Course Master Plan. Andrew is widely regarded as one of the nation’s premier golf course architects, particularly for his work with classic Donald Ross courses. His portfolio includes Oak Hill, East Lake, Congressional, and Inverness, with upcoming work at Atlanta Athletic Club and Olympia Fields, all major tournament venues with East Lake hosting the Tour Championship. He will work closely with Golf Course Superintendent Josh Urbanec and the Golf Architecture Committee throughout the process. Additional information on Andrew is available at greengolfandturf.com. In parallel, the Club will engage ELM (Ervin Lovett Miller), a Jacksonville-based planning, architecture, and landscape architecture firm, to develop a comprehensive Facilities Master Plan. ELM brings extensive experience with private clubs and an approach grounded in listening to members and leadership to understand each club’s unique character and priorities.

Both master planning efforts will take place throughout 2026 and into 2027, and they will include meaningful engagement from a wide range of member groups along the way. At this stage, it is premature to speculate on final designs, scope, or costs. The purpose of these efforts is to create clear, well-vetted long-term plans that allow future Boards and members to make informed decisions when the time is right. The Board remains committed to responsible stewardship—honoring our heritage while planning thoughtfully for what lies ahead. We also intend to enhance communication and transparency around these initiatives and broader Club matters. By investing the time now to listen, study, and plan carefully, we are positioning San Jose Country Club for continued success for generations to come. We appreciate your engagement, feedback, and support and look forward to sharing updates as this important work progresses. As a reminder, that our annual meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 4th at 6 PM. Further details about registration will be forthcoming. Happy New Year and see you at the Club! Warm regards, Doug Saunders San Jose Country Club President

MEMBERSHIP MATTERS JANUARY NEW YEAR EDITION Hello San Jose Members As we welcome the new year, we want to take a moment to thank you for being an essential part of our club community. Your membership is what makes our club such a special place to gather, celebrate and create lasting memories. As part of our long-term vision and continued investment in the club experience, effective February 1st, 2026 , the initiation fee for new members will increase to $40,000. This adjustment reflects the strong demand for membership, ongoing enhancements to our facilities, and our commitment to preserving the quality, exclusivity, and value of the club for years to come. Legacy Membership As the initiation fee increases don’t forget we always have a legacy option to explore. If you have any immediate family members that are interested in joining the club please let me know. This allows the next generation to enjoy the traditions and experiences you value while securing membership under the current pricing before the increase. Referral Program We are always grateful when members share their love of the club with friends, neighbors, or colleagues. Referrals from our membership community remain one of the most valued ways we grow, and we encourage you to reach out to anyone who may be considering membership before the February 1st increase. As a reminder you must reach out with the referral prospects information before they do in order to qualify for your referral credit. If you have any additional questions regarding membership, legacy options or referral details please don’t hesitate to ask. Thank you for your continued support, trust and pride in our club. Here is to a wonderful year ahead filled with connection, tradition, and exceptional experiences.

Best Regards, Amanda Anderson Membership Director

January brings cooler temperatures and dormant turf conditions, making it especially important that we all do our part to protect and preserve our historic golf course. We kindly ask all golfers to remain diligent in repairing ball marks, filling divots, lifting feet while walking on greens, raking bunkers smoothly after use, and following all cart rules—keeping carts on paths near tees and greens. These simple efforts go a long way in maintaining course conditions for everyone. Guest Passes & 2026 Golf Fees 2026 Guest Passes are now available for purchase at $660+ per six-pack, with regular members eligible to purchase up to two six-packs per calendar year.
