Dear Members,
The holiday season is in full swing, and there’s truly no better time to be at San Jose Country Club The clu decorated, the spirit of the season fills the air, and the calendar is packed with festive events and celebrati and family gatherings to evenings spent with friends around the Club, this is one of the most special and lively se.

As we close out the year, it’s a wonderful opportunity to reflect on all that we’ve accomplished together From the golf course to the pool, tennis, fitness, dining, and social events, it has truly been a remarkable and busy year across every corner of the Club The continued growth, energy, and engagement of our membership are what make this club so special I am proud of the amazing staff we have in every department at San Jose that support this success each and every day. They are truly the cornerstone of our San Jose Family.
Over the past year, our leadership and management have embarked on a multi-year process of planning for the future at San Jose, focusing on the priorities defined in our Strategic Plan This process has included the selection of a firm to prepare an overall facilities plan that is a thoughtful, holistic approach of evaluating and prioritizing each facet of our entire campus as well as the selection of an architect to complete a Master Plan of our golf course and its aging infrastructure For each of these endeavors, we have time on our side as we continue to pay down our existing debt, operate within our annual budget, and make the necessary capital investments to maintain our existing amenities as we prepare for the future.
I am pleased to share the new slate of officers for the Board of Governors for 2026 Doug Saunders will serve as President, Lauren DeAlexandris as President Elect, Hans Vanden Noort as Treasurer, and Kim Holland as Secretary Each of them brings tremendous dedication, experience, and passion for the Club, and I have every confidence that San Jose will continue to thrive under their leadership.
It has been an honor and privilege to serve as your President this year I have had the opportunity to get to engage and work with many members and staff which I have thoroughly enjoyed and will cherish those relationships for years to come I want to sincerely thank the Board of Governors and every committee member for their tireless work and commitment Their collective effort and thoughtful leadership have made a lasting impact on the present and future of San Jose
On behalf of the Board and management team, I wish you and your families a joyful holiday season and a happy, healthy New Year. Thank you for making San Jose Country Club the remarkable place that it is
See you at the Club!
Warm Regards, Will Morgan San Jose Country Club President

Hello San Jose Members,
As we enter the holiday season, I hope you and your family are enjoying all the festivities happening around the Club. December is always a special time here, and we have some exciting updates and opportunities to share as we close the year.
If you’re looking for a thoughtful and meaningful gift for a loved one, consider giving the gift of membership. Membership at San Jose provides year-round experiences that include golf, dining, events and lifelong memories that go far beyond anything you can wrap under the tree. Our Legacy Membership Program makes this even more special by allowing adult children or grandchildren of current members to join with preferred initiation fee pricing. It’s an incredible way to keep club traditions in the family while giving them a gift they’ll enjoy for years to come. If you’d like to setup a Legacy Membership for a family member or learn more about how it works, I’m happy to walk you through this process.
We are excited to announce that the Club’s initiation fee will increase to $40,000 effective February 1st. If you have family or friends considering membership, now is the time to join the club We are seeing a strong interest going into the new year, so encourage anyone you know to set up a tour today
Thank you for being part of our Club community. It’s been a joy welcoming new members throughout the year, and we are looking forward to an exciting 2026 ahead. If you have any questions or would like assistance with membership for family or friends, please feel free to reach out at any time on my cell at 904-472-5001 or by email at Amanda.anderson@sjccjax.com
Best Regards, Amanda Anderson Membership Director

Dear San Jose Country Club Members,
San Jose Country Club has always believed that our story is best told through the people who have shaped it Since the clubhouse opened in 1947, we have thoughtfully documented our journey through monthly club bulletins, capturing everything from championship results and social events to memorable member moments that reflect the true spirit of our community.
This month, a particularly special piece of SJCC history was shared with us: a San Jose Country Club Bulletin dated February 24, 1955, a remarkable preservation of our early years and the enduring traditions that continue to define our club.
A Family Legacy Spanning Five Generations:
Long-time member Terrance Coyle, who joined SJCC in 1979, recently reached out after discovering the vintage bulletin featuring his grandfather, George Coyle.
Terrance shared:
“George Coyle was my grandfather and I look forward to competing in the Senior Championship Tournament (the predecessor to the BOG HC Tournament) He was a better golfer than me and my Dad.
On Thanksgiving Day (weather permitting), I will attempt to reserve a tee time for me, our sons Philip and Preston, and my grandson Jack, five generations playing the course. By the way, just to make me feel my age, I was born on 2/24/55, the date on the bulletin.”
- Terrance Coyle, SJCC Member Since 1979
Moments like these remind us of what makes San Jose truly special: our heritage is not just found in plaques, photos, or publications, it lives in the families who have called this place home for decades.
Preserving 78 Years of Memories: Our club bulletins, first printed in the late 1940s, have chronicled over seven decades of SJCC life.
They serve as a living archive of: Championship milestones and member achievements
Annual traditions and iconic club events
The evolution of our Donald Ross golf course
Generational stories that connect our past to our present

Terrance’s discovery adds another beautiful chapter to this legacy, highlighting how deeply SJCC’s history intertwines with the families who walk our fairways year after year.
A Club Built on Tradition: This year as we close our chapter on our 100th year of golf (1925–2025) and celebrate 78 years since the clubhouse opened, stories like the Coyle family’s embody the very heart of SJCC; tradition, family, and a love for the game that unites generations.
We extend our sincere thanks to Terrance Coyle for sharing this treasured bulletin and for being part of the SJCC family for over 45 years.
Here’s to the memories behind us, the history we continue to uncover, and the countless stories still being written today.
With Heartfelt Appreciation,
The San Jose Country Club Team

Repair ball marks on the greens
Fill divots
Rake bunkers after use
Keep carts on the path near tees and greens

Dear San Jose Members,
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to share some updates regarding a project that has been underway over the past week. MacCurrach has been actively constructing a new nursery green located behind hole eight. Once established, this nursery will enable us to harvest plugs for the golf course, preserving your chipping green.
The area has been excavated to a depth of six inches and carefully backfilled with an 85/15 greens mix. Attached to this message is an image illustrating the various grasses we are implementing and their layout. We are currently testing two promising new varieties of ultradwarf bermudagrass: Tif 3-D and Mach 1. Additionally, we are evaluating Tahoma 31 bermudagrass, Bimini bermudagrass, and Stadium zoysiagrass. We believe these newer varieties hold great potential for our climate and will provide us with valuable insights regarding their performance on your golf course.
Thank you for your continued support and the resources you provide, which are instrumental in helping us advance San Jose.
Cordially,
Josh Urbanec Golf Course Superintendent
