Virtue of the Month The virtue we will be working on for the month of November is Humility. Humility is knowing the truth about yourself. The humble person acknowledges that your talents are gifts because they come from God and should be used for His glory. Humility helps us to rejoice in one another’s achievements, because we know every person’s talents are a gift from God. Touching Safety Program Once again we are sending home information about the mandatory sexual abuse prevention program required by the Toledo Diocese, Touching Safety. The first lesson will be taught between November 14-22, 2017. If you are opting out of the program for your child, please sign the enclosed form and return to school no later than November 10, 2017. Please see the enclosed information of this program. Student Council Halloween Event On Tuesday, October 31, 2017, Student Council will be sponsoring a Wear Your Halloween Shirt Day. Students may wear a Halloween shirt with their school uniform pants next Tuesday. This year, Student Council will be working on suggestions for a once a month Spirit Day. Kids Bop On Sunday, November 12, 2017, will be our Kids Bop party. A flyer will be coming home soon with details. Box Top Winner Congratulations to Mrs. Linkenhoker’s 6th grade class for turning in the most box tops for the month of September. Mrs. Linkenhoker’s students will have a dress down day on Thursday, November 2, 2017. Parent/Teacher Conferences Sacred Heart Campus will hold their conferences on Monday, November 13th and Tuesday, November 14th. If you have not scheduled your conferences yet, please go to the Bishop Hoffman Catholic School website, click on Sign-Up Genius, then click on your child(ren)’s teacher(s) name and schedule your time. If you are having trouble doing this, please call the school office and we will be happy to help you with this. Parent/Teacher conferences are mandatory for all parents. Picture Re-Take Day Wednesday, November 1st is picture re-take day. If your child was absent on the original picture day and you need an order form, please call the school office and one will be sent home. If your child had his/her picture taken and you would like a re-take, please send in your original packet. This package will allow the photographer to know what picture packet to process. PTO Please add to your calendar the next PTO meeting that will take place on Monday, November 20 at 7:00 in SJCC media center.


BHCS Lunch Policy Enclosed with this newsletter, you will find the BHCS Lunch Charge Policy. This policy was approved by the School Board and will be effective starting November 1, 2017 Tardy Students When your child is late for school, it is very important that you do not leave the parking lot until your child is in the school building. This is a matter of safety so we appreciate your cooperation in this matter. Veterans Day Assembly Please encourage any family members who have served in the Armed Forces or are currently serving and are able, to attend our Veteran’s Day Assembly scheduled for Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at 9:15 a.m. If you have made a “brick” for your veteran, please turn that in to the office no later than November 3rd. The brick should be made on the paper provided earlier. If you need another brick, please let the office know. Christmas Program Please mark your calendars for our upcoming Grades K-3 Christmas Program on December 18th. On Sunday, December 17th, our BHCS Preschoolers will be presenting their Christmas Program at 2:00 p.m. We hope to see everyone there! Cookie Dough Assembly This year, there will be NO cookie dough assembly. As soon as the winner names are compiled, the coordinator of the cookie dough fundraiser will deliver prizes to the classrooms. Halloweeen Costumes/Parties On Friday, October 27th, Sacred Heart Campus will hold their annual Halloween parade beginning at 2:45 p.m. Students in Grades K-6 will change into their costumes after lunch. Violent costumes and/or weapons are NOT permitted. Halloween festivities planned by homeroom parents will take place at 2:00 p.m. Also on Friday morning, October 27th, students may wear jeans and their Pride shirts in connection with the conclusion of Red Ribbon Week. After lunch, students who choose to do so, will change into their Halloween costumes.
