End of Year The last day of school for K-6 is Thursday, June 1st. Also, this is your final newsletter for the 2016-17 school year. “Thank You” to all the parents who returned their family envelope regularly. Having your envelope returned weekly is such a tremendous, time saving help. Reading Buddies Lead Volunteer Needed After seven years of dedication to our Reading Buddies Program, Mrs. Donna Baker is ready to pass the baton as head of this program. We are in need of someone to take over this worthwhile reading program. Mrs. Baker will help the new head volunteer set up the program, help get volunteers and sub when needed. If you have any questions and hopefully interested in taking over the program, please call the school office at 419-332-7102. Extended Day Payments If your child(ren) is using the Extended Day program, we ask that your account be paid up to date. Everyone will need to have a zero balance in order to use this program next year. If you are unable to pay your bill in full, it is necessary that you phone the school office to set up a payment plan. Thank you. Lunch Charges It has come to our attention that there are a number of students with multiple lunch charges. The end of the school year is approaching, please be mindful of the dollar amount on your child’s lunch account. Please check to make sure your account is not in the negative. Field Day Information about Field Day was sent home with each child this week. Please check with your child to see if this information was given to you. Thank you.

Pre School End of Year Celebrations Tonight, Thursday, May 26 is Miss Lisa’s preschool program, and on Tuesday, May 30th, Miss Charla will have her preschool program. Both celebrations will be held in the gymnasium at Sacred Heart Campus. We invite everyone to attend and enjoy our preschooler’s performances! ``` Box Top Results Thank you to all who participated this year in our Box Tops collection by clipping, saving and sending them to school. Many classes earned multiple rewards this year. Mrs. Linkenhoker’s class earned a jeans day for our May collection. Her students may wear jeans next Wednesday, May 31st. Our overall class winner for the year, collecting 2,635 Box Tops, is Mrs. Helmer’s class. They will be receiving an ice cream treat. Together, our school collected over 14,500 Box Tops this year earning over $1,450.00 for our school. Be sure to save them over the summer and turn them into your child’s teacher in the fall for next year’s collection and class prizes. Many thanks go out to our Box Top counters, Mrs. Darcy Woolf, Mrs. Breanna Rakes, Mrs, Dry and Mrs. Novotny. They have spent many hours trimming, counting and bundling them in packages of 50 for the Box Tops company. Thanks for a great year! Enclosed is a graph showing each classroom’s standing on Box Top collections. Lost Items Currently we have 13 red fleeces in our lost and found box, including one that is the new style of fleece. Please check to see if your child’s fleece is missing. If they are still here on the last day of school, the fleeces will be taken to Share and Care (some of the fleeces have been here since last school year). If you are in need of a fleece, you may want to check with the office after school lets out to see if they are still here. Attached Article Attached to this newsletter is an informational article by an occupational therapist on why some students find paying attention in school a challenge. Hopefully you will find this article interesting and beneficial. Notes from Nurse Ashleigh Please read the attached article from Nurse Ashleigh referring to medication housed in the health office. Also you will find summer safety hints for children. “THANK YOU” We would like to thank everyone for all your cooperation and support throughout the school year. We wish you a safe and happy summer! BHCS School Calendar for 2017-18 Please check the BHCS website to see the calendar for the upcoming 2017-18 school year. A more detailed calendar will be sent home at the beginning of the next school year. School Supplies for K-8 Enclosed is the school supply list for next school year. You can also find this on the BHCS website. As next school year approaches, this supply list will also be on display, along with other schools, at Walmart.
