Catholic Schools Mass Permission Slip Enclosed in this month’s newsletter envelope you will find a permission slip for your child/ren to attend the Catholic Schools Mass at SJCC on February 2, 2018. Permission slips must be signed and returned before February 2nd in order for your child/ren to attend this mass. All students are to bring a bag lunch from home on this day. If school is delayed, students still need to bring a bag lunch from home. We will still attend Mass at SJCC. Virtue of the Month-Cheerfulness Cheerfulness is the virtue that helps us to be joyful, even when times are hard. God loves us and wants us to be truly happy. We think and act in a way that is gloomy, forgetting God, and dragging ourselves and others down, or we can count our blessings, praise God for His goodness, and lift everyone up toward Him. So make the choice to be joyful in the Lord and spread hope through joy! Enclosed is the virtue activity for the month of February. Spring Portraits Spring Picture Day is Wednesday, February 21, 2018. Order forms will be coming home soon. Unlike the fall pictures, the spring pictures are not prepaid. Photos will be sent home, and it will be your choice whether or not to purchase them. If you do not return the picture selection form, the standard background will be used. Every child will have their photo taken and students may dress up or wear jeans (no sweatpants or athletic pants). Pictures must be returned if you are not purchasing them. Pre School Carnival On Friday, February 9, from 8:45-11:1 a.m., our BHCS 8th graders are bringing some pre-Lenten fun to our preschoolers. They will hold a Mardi Gras Carnival in the Sacred Heart gym. There will be 18 booths of activities, games, and crafts. It is enjoyable to see the JHA students interact with our youngest students. It will be a good time for all. Congratulations Congratulations to our BHCS students -- they have met their extra day off school by meeting the calendar sales and value cards goals. Friday, Feb. 16th is the day students will be excused. Sue Kusmer has sent an email to all BHCS families to notify them. Feb. 16 is the Friday of Presidents Day weekend which will make a 4-day weekend for all of us. Sacred Heart Parish Fish Fry On Friday, February 16th, Sacred Heart Parish will be having their Annual Lenten Fish Fry. Please see Enclosed flyer for more information. End of Day Phone Calls Once again we would like to remind you to please try to let your child know how they are getting home in the morning before school starts. The phone calls to give student messages are quite numerous. This time of day is always busy, so to avoid any transportation mix-ups, it will be very much appreciated if we can lessen phone calls. Golden Apple Award The Diocese of Toledo is now accepting nominations for the 2018 Golden Apple Award. A nomination form (included) needs to be completed and returned to either Mr. Perin or Mrs. Whitfield by February 5.
