Delete / remove:
o Level 3 and 4: “Hip on the bar no DV”
o Level 7: D panel < horizontal no DV
• Awarding of DV only applies to cast that is in a box on its own (e.g. Level 6, 7; 2nd skill in the UB routine), usually the first cast of the routine. If the cast "shares" a box with another skill (e.g. HB long kip to cast in Level 6 and Level 7 = 1.0), the DV does NOT apply to the cast. It only applies to the long kip skill

E panel
• Apply angle of completion / execution deductions for every cast, if/when applicable, even if there is no DV awarded to the cast. Only exception is for ALL levels / casts before LB squat / pike on (no requirement / deduction for angle of completion).

“Break in connection (Acro series)”
Level 3 to 7 0.3
Sub Junior & Pre Junior 0.5
“Element Not held for 2 secs when specified” -0.1 only
This deduction only applies if the gymnast has NOT incurred the deduction “Failure to reach handstand within 10° 0.3”
Example 1: if gymnast attempts a HSTD, finishes the HSTD at 45 deg from vertical;
Apply 0.3 deduction for failure to reach HSTD within HSTD. Do NOT apply 0.1 for element not held for 2 seconds
Example 2: if gymnast attempts a HSTD and finishes the HSTD at 0 deg (at vertical) with only 1 second hold;

Add “No Dismount” 0.5
Deduction taken by D panel from final score
Only applicable to Levels 8 to 10
28. Page 242 à “No Dismount” from Table of artistry faults
Example; if gymnast is attempting a front tuck off the BB, one foot slips off the end of the BB, she does a very poor straight / ugly jump, does not rotate, and lands on all 4 fours
No DV
One less counting element to D score
Apply all execution faults
Apply deduction for no DMT 0.5 as salto was not initiated

• “No dismount” deduction will apply if only 1 acro line is performed, count 1 less element
• The Maximum number of acro lines is 4
• Any difficulty in additional acro line(s) will not be counted for DV. All other execution faults will continue to apply
• Acro lines minimum 2 directly connected acro flight elements, 1,without hand support and take off from 2 feet, one of which must be a salto.
• Failure to land on the feet first from the salto will still be considered an acro line
Example 1; gymnast attempts a DMT but fails to land on feet first
• No DV
• One less counting element to D score
• All execution faults will apply
• No deduction for no DMT as salto was initiated
Example 2; if gymnast attempts 2.5 twist (incomplete and credited as double twist) in her 1st acro line, attempts a double twist as her DMT
• No DV awarded
• One less counting element in her D score
• Apply all other execution faults
• No deduction for no DMT
• One acroline may fulfill more than 1 CR (unless otherwise specified / worded in the manual), however the same element may not be used to fulfill CR#1 and CR#2
Example 1 for Level 9 & 10
Acro line 1: Round off> Back Handspring> double twist
Acro line 2: Front Handspring > front layout full
Acro line 1 may full fill CR #2
Acro line 2 may fulfill CR #1 & #3
Example 2 for Level 9 & 10
Acro line 1: Round off>540°> punch front full Acro line 2: Round off> Back Handspring> Back layout
• Acro line 1: 540° twist fulfils CR#2; punch front full fulfils CR #1 & #3
32. Page 246 247 à under “Table of specific apparatus faults Floor Exercise”
• Edit “Failure to reach HSTD within 10 degrees in acro skills” <10 degrees No deduction
Between 10 to 30 degrees 0.1 >30 degrees 0.3
• “Break in connection” à applies to both acro line AND dance series
Level 3 to 7 0.3
Sub Junior & Pre Junior 0.5 Deduction taken by E panel
Example 1: Level 7: Split jump half turn to sissonne if there is a break between the 2 dance elements, but both elements meets the technical requirements, award DV for both, and apply break in connection deduction 0.3
Example 2: Sub Junior: RO BHS BHS BHS series if gymnast performs the acro line RO
BHS BHS only, award the DV for each BHS, no DV for the last BHS + break in connection deduction 0.5
Example 3: Sub Junior: RO BHS BHS BHS series if gymnast performs the acro line RO BHS BHS (pause/stop) BHS, award the DV for each BHS, and apply break in connection deduction 0.5
Note: If entire DV (within the box) is not awarded, do not apply “break in connection” deduction
33. Page 248 à Table of Artistry faults (applies to Level 8 to 10 and Pre Junior only; deductions taken by E panel)
• Under “Composition” à add “Lack of Single leg full pirouette” 0.3
• Remove “No Dismount 0.5” from table of artistry faults
34. Add to Page 246 247 à under “Table of specific apparatus faults Floor Exercise”;
• “No Dismount” 0.5
• Deduction taken by D panel from final score
• Only applicable to Levels 8 to 10
35. Page 249 à Under “Content of Exercise” table for Level 8 to 10;
• Level 9 CR #2
2nd Acro line with à Additional C element or more
• Level 10 CR #2
2nd Acro line with à Additional minimum LA 540° OR BA double element
• Turn / spin is NOT a CR. If no turn / spin was performed, apply “Composition deduction à lack of single leg full pirouette 0.3”
36. Border (Line) Deductions
Level 8 to 10 example;
Gymnast attempts RO BHS 1.5 twist front full.
If take off for the front full is outside the border:
• No DV and CV for front full
• Apply all execution faults
37. Level 7 (page 114) à Switch leg leap to tour jete dance passage
Key Coaching Point: “Land on 1 leg in a small plié position and step into an immediate second leap”
• Travelling steps in between switch leg leap and tour jete is permitted (as per FIG dance passage requirement)

Replies from the judging committee
Level 1 & 2: all events
The general consensus was that it was difficult to differentiate the good and average gymnasts. The judges felt that more specific skill deductions should be included in the judging manual.
A limit to the number of 0.1 deductions should be set for a gymnast to obtain the Gold certification. It is not fair for a relatively good gymnast who has very few 0.1 deductions compared to a not so good gymnasts who has a lot of 0.1.deductions to be given a Gold certification as well
Not holding for 2 secs specific deduction for elements not held for 2 secs should be included for lower levels as well.
No changes will be made at this time for the judging of Level 1 & 2.
Reviews will be made to level 1 & 2 after SG open
The purpose and objective of the certification criteria is to encourage participation for young gymnasts. As gymnasts are banded into just 3 categories, there will be always be better and lousier gymnasts within each group.
Not necessary.
VAULT
Lvl 1 & 2: Double jump (jump before vault and and on board), jump on board and land on mat but fall back to board, last step on springboard to jump on board, run up the board to landing on mat (no jump) > award bronze banding?
Lvl 1 & 2: Hands on mat (instead of board) for handstand flat back > award bronze banding?
LVL 4: Front tuck landing on back (not making the entire rotation) or not landing feet first > award 6.00?
Yes to award Bronze banding
Yes to award Bronze banding
As stated in judging manual to award ZERO “0” vault as the gymnast failed land feet first (see Section 7> Performance of invalid vaults)
UNEVEN BARS
Lvl 1 & 2: Failure to hold skills for required length of time > 0.1 deduction
No such deduction. We want to be encouraging to young gymnasts
Lvl 5: Cast with legs apart to horizontal To be taken as deduction for legs apart? Yes 0.1, 0.3
Lvl 5: Back swing for taller girls on bars To Please see above in the updates for
identify criteria clearly for judges requirements in swings
Smaller girls bar height lower? Falls on dismount for shorter girls (safety issue)
As long as hips leave the bar in cast, we award the DV but take deductions is this too lax?
Lvl 5: Sissone also 165° amplitude?
Coaches may put in a request to the organizing committee for only the High bar to be lowered when registering the gymnast for the competition (Not on the day of competition)
To award DV, angle deductions apply
BALANCE BEAM
Yes 165° amplitude refers to ALL split elements
Lvl 6: Handstand not within 10° from vertical 0.3 Yes
Lvl 6: Handstand not held for 2 secs = 0.1 Yes
Please see updates in the addendum above.
Lvl 6: Handstand not within 10° from vertical AND not held for 2 secs = 0.4 total.
If the gymnasts has NOT performed the handstand within 10° from vertical 0.3 , DO NOT take “Handstand not held for 2 secs” deduction.
Value awarded for the skills, not the connection. For e.g. cartwheel (1.0), straight jump (1.0). Break in connection = 0.3?
Yes. Please see the updates in the addendum for clarification on break in connections which is an E panel deduction, not from the DV
• Level 3 7 0.3
• Sub Junior and Pre Junior 0.5
FLOOR EXERCISE
Judges to request gymnasts to perform routines in a manner whereby performance is unobstructed.
Some coaches were confused with the use of “3 strip of mats” versus the “1strip of mat”. They did not understand that if they choose to utilize the 3 strips of mat, they can incur “stepping out of border” deductions
For the use of “1 strip of mat”, should state that the gymnast must perform the routine horizontally across the judges and not vertically. One of the coaches was not happy when told to make the gymnast perform horizontally.
Specific deductions for no rebound in Round off
This should be common sense, not necessary to put into manual. Perhaps the organizing committee may specify and brief the teams during their team manager briefings.
Any steps outside the chosen boundary, be it 1 strip, 3 strips or full floor will incur line deductions.
This should also be common sense and not necessary to put into manual. Organizing committee should decide this and let the teams know beforehand.
Please take height deductions 0.1 or 0.3
Specific deductions should be made for lack of We will review after SG open
flexibility, especially in elements like bridge, walkovers (also applicable to Beam).
There is no such element at this level, only a back walkover.
Lvl 4: No DV for Front walkover
If a front walkover is performed in place of the back walkover then No DV will be awarded for this element, but execution deductions will still apply.
If the gymnast was attempting the front handspring rebound but did a front walkover instead, NO DV will be awarded and execution deductions will still apply.
Lvl 5: Dance: head cartwheel and bwd roll is done with bent legs, not passing through vertical and is generally not nice to look at.
Lvl 7 : Under turning in the split jump ½ turn
Deductions for bent knees, body alignment etc should be taken
It will be considered as a split jump, No DV will be awarded for this element.
Running punch front layout does not fulfill CR1 because it is not an acro line
Lvl 8: Clarity in the wording of CR#1 Stretched B salto
As stated under “Notes for CRs” all Acro CRs must be performed in an acro line
No it is not an acro line.
Lvl 8: Round off, back handspring not considered acro line?
As stated under “Notes for CRs” acro line is a minimum 2 acro flight elements, 1 must be salto.
