Reflect, Release, and Renew: Making the Most of Life’s Everyday Moments

As the year draws to a close, I find myself doing what most of us eventually do—looking back. Not just at the milestones, the achievements, or the unexpected twists, but at the quieter moments in between. And if there’s one thing this year has taught me, it’s that nothing matters more than our health—both physical and mental. Because when we don’t feel right within, the world outside loses its colour. One like or a hundred likes on social media can’t fix a restless mind. And on the other hand, a single aching joint can steal our focus, our joy, our drive.

So as we prepare to step into a brandnew year, I’m reminding myself, and you, to return to what’s truly important. To nurture the body that carries us and the mind that guides us. To protect our peace the way we protect everything else we value.

And while reflecting, I also realised it’s the simplest memories that stay with us. Watching TV with family, laughing until our stomach hurts, finally catching up with an old friend, or sitting together recalling childhood moments we thought we’d forgotten. These are the moments that make life priceless. These are the small joys that keep us grounded, stable, and hopeful—even in the face of chaos. As the year wraps up, let’s try something brave: let’s forgive. Let’s loosen our grip on old grudges. Life is too long and too precious to carry hate or resentment. Let bygones be bygones. Let’s give ourselves permission to start 2026 with a clean slate, a fresh mind, a stronger spirit, and a heart that’s lighter than the year before.

The power, after all, lies in how we react. We may not control every situation, but we certainly control our response. Do we hold on or do we let go? Do we complain or do we rise above? This New Year, I’m choosing to reclaim that power.

In this issue, we celebrate endings and beginnings with inspiring celebrity fitness stories, high-performing startups, and meaningful mental-health insights—everything to help you step into 2026 feeling stronger, wiser, and more grounded.

Here’s to new memories, renewed strength, and a refreshed mind. Cheers to what’s ahead!

Yami Gautam on Haq: Courage, and the Power of a Woman’s Voice Controversy

Yami Gautam’s latest film Haq has struck a powerful chord with audiences for its bold storytelling and emotional honesty. In a candid conversation with Lipika Varma, Yami reflects on what drew her to the film, her collaboration with Emraan Hashmi, the responsibility of portraying a character inspired by real struggles, and how motherhood and support have shaped her personal and professional life.

On working with Emraan Hashmi–

“When the film was first offered to me, and I learned I’d be cast opposite Emraan, I couldn’t imagine anyone else in the role,” Yami shares. “I’ve always admired him — his grace, dignity, the music, the performances, the aura. He has a legacy that spans generations.”

She adds, “When you watch the film, you’ll see the incredible energy he brings to his character. Emraan is a brilliant actor — respectful, secure, and inspiring. It was a joy to work with him.”

Why She Chose a Hard-Hitting Role in Haq–

“I go by instinct — and this story needed to be told,” Yami says. “This character reflects courage, truth, and resilience. I haven’t met the real woman it draws inspiration from, but her journey deeply moved me. It captures the true meaning of a woman’s power.”

She clarifies that the film is not a biopic but a blend of facts and fiction. “As an artist, I had to understand why this case became so important. I wasn’t representing one woman — I was representing many.”

On Taking Up Socially Sensitive Subjects–

“As actors, we have only one lens — the tone of the film,” she explains. “Is it made to create controversy or to start a discussion? There’s a difference. I don’t believe in controversies. I do my work and go home.”

She adds, “A film must create discussion or debate. There is no scope for being ‘average’. My first instinct is always pure — if I feel I must do it, I do it without fear.”

As an artist, I had to understand why this case became so important. I wasn’t representing one woman — I was representing many.

Preparing for Emotionally Intense Roles

"For this film, emotional strength was more important than physicality,” Yami says. “I imagined the courage a woman in the ’70s or ’80s would need to stand up for herself and her children. Every emotion — betrayal, pain, tears, strength — had to be real.”

Her preparation also included learning stitching and crochet to inhabit the character naturally.

“For Article 370, the journey was different — there was physical training, MMA, weapons. Here, the emotional graph dictated everything else.”

Training in Urdu

"Yes, I trained extensively,” she says. “Our diction coach from Indore helped me with pronunciation, flow, and emotional delivery. Even English words had to sit naturally in Urdu. Urdu is such a beautiful language — to perform naturally, you must make the words your own.”

She also credits dialogue writer Reshu Nath for giving the film its poetic strength.

I imagined the courage a woman in the ’70s or ’80s would need to stand up for herself and her children. Every emotion — betrayal, pain, tears, strength — had to be real.

On whether she has ever raised her voice for something in real life, Yami reflects:

“Using actions is better than words. Earlier, actresses couldn’t openly speak about marriage. Today, I’m a mother, and it hasn’t affected my work — that itself is a big change. Education and women’s safety are the areas where I feel change is most needed.”

What Made Her Say Yes to This Story–“There were two aspects,” she explains. “My instinct, and the writing. I always ask for a hard copy of the script. When I finished reading it, I took a moment — and the answer was clear: yes.”

Having read about the real case in newspapers during school, Yami felt a deeper connection. “It felt surreal to take on a story inspired by something I once studied.”

What an Artist looks for in a Script–

“Three things matter most — the story, the role, and the director,” Yami says. “Originality is always exciting. Look at Kantara — rooted in local folklore yet universal. Heartland stories have a unique power.”

A Responsible Character and the Weight of Representation–

“If anyone feels inspired by my performance, that would be my personal victory,” she says softly. “During the climax, I felt I was representing many people at once. If even one person feels courage after watching it — that’s enough.”

Understanding Urdu deeply, she says, allowed the performance to feel instinctive. “To perform naturally, you must speak without thinking — that’s when cinema feels real.”

Life after Marriage and Motherhood–

“My parents would be surprised! Tension exists everywhere — Mumbai or Leh. But yes, marriage adds stability. Support from family helps you stay grounded.”

She speaks warmly about her husband, Aditya Dhar: “The support was always there. Both of us can work only because our parents stand behind us. Their contribution can never be repaid.”

She recalls flying from Chandigarh early morning just to be with her son before returning to set. “My producers and director trusted me completely. When crores are invested, dedication matters.”

Balancing Work and Motherhood–

“Everyone’s journey is subjective — some take a break, some continue working. Both choices are valid. I’m grateful I could manage both because of my mother’s help,” she says.

A Message Through the Film–

“It’s hard for me to give a ‘message’,” she says. “But I’ve always chosen strong, meaningful roles. Yes, times have changed since the 1980s Nikah, but change takes time. Everyone has their own battles.” “I hope that when people watch Haq, they feel something — courage, hope, strength. Anything positive.”

DECODING MODERN MENTAL HEALTH

Understanding Anxiety Today

Dr. Sarthak Dave Breaks Down Myths, Warning Signs & Everyday Coping Tools

Dr. Sarthak Dave, MBBS, MD (Psychiatry), is one of India’s most trusted voices in mental health. Based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, he is the founder of Vibha Healing Center, a safe, accessible space for individuals seeking support and guidance. In this conversation, he sheds light on anxiety—what people misunderstand most, when stress becomes a clinical concern, and how simple, science-backed tools can help restore balance.

In a world where stress, digital overload, and rising expectations shape our everyday lives, mental well-being has become more crucial than ever. Experts like Dr. Sarthak Dave and Dr. Era Dutta break down the modern pressures affecting our minds and offer clear, sciencebacked ways to cope.

What’s the most misunderstood aspect of anxiety today?

Two misconceptions stand out. First, many people believe their level of anxiety is the only “real” version of anxiety. So they often struggle to understand or accept that someone else might experience it far more intensely.

Second, people assume anxiety must always have an external cause. But clinical anxiety often arises from internal factors—hormonal changes, genetics, or neurotransmitter imbalances. In such cases, changing your environment won’t fix the issue. Addressing the biological changes is what helps.

When does “normal stress” turn into a clinical concern?

Stress is a natural human response. But it becomes a clinical issue when it causes socio-occupational or socioacademic dysfunction—meaning your ability to function in daily life is affected.

If you’re unable to eat, sleep, concentrate, work, study, or connect with people the way you used to, that’s a red flag. Additionally, if symptoms persist for more than 2 weeks and continue to worsen rather than resolve, they should be taken seriously. In such situations, stress is no longer “normal”—it requires clinical attention.

Dr. Sarthak Dave

Can you share practical coping tools people can practice at home?

When the mind feels overwhelmed, turn to the body. Engaging your physical senses helps break the spiral of thoughts and emotions.

You can:

• Move your body—exercise, stretch, activate muscles and bones

• Eat something with a strong taste

• Smell something pleasant or intense

• Listen to grounding sounds or music

• Watch something visually stimulating

Stimulating multiple senses at once anchors you in the present moment and reduces emotional overwhelm.

How important is sleep in managing anxiety and mood?

Sleep is your mind’s daily holiday. When the system “shuts down,” repair and healing begin. Everyday emotional wear and tear gets restored during sleep.

Good sleep not only reduces anxiety, stress, and depression, but also helps predict when something is wrong. Early sleep disturbances are often the first warning sign that someone may be developing anxiety or depression.

Conversely, when sleep improves during treatment, it’s one of the strongest indicators of recovery.

What role does therapy play compared to medication?

Therapy and medication work together—they are not competitors.

If emotional distress is due to external factors—life events, relationships, past trauma—therapy usually takes the lead, with medication playing a supportive role.

If the root cause is internal—genetic, hormonal, or neurotransmitter-based—medication becomes the primary treatment because chemical changes within the body need to be addressed. In such cases, therapy enhances the healing process.

Ultimately, both are equally important, and each supports the other in helping the person fully recover.

Thriving in a Fast-Changing World

Dr Era Dutta on Burnout, Digital Overload & Building Everyday Mental Strength

With modern life moving faster than ever—and digital overwhelm quietly shaping our thoughts, habits, and self-worth—mental well-being has become a daily challenge for many young adults. Consultant Psychiatrist and four-time TEDx Speaker Dr. Era Dutta, Founder of Mind Wellness, breaks down how today’s lifestyle impacts our emotional health, why burnout is becoming increasingly common, and the simple, science-backed habits that can help us stay grounded while still pursuing ambition.

How have lifestyle changes in recent years impacted overall mental well-being?

The modern lifestyle is a paradox: we’re more connected yet more isolated, more informed yet more overwhelmed, and surrounded by more food options but doing less movement. This has created a mixed impact on mental health—unfortunately, with more negatives than positives.

We now see rising rates of major depressive disorder, anxiety, substance use, chronic stress, and burnout. Sedentary routines, shrinking social interactions, always-on work culture, and blurred home–work boundaries play a significant role.

On the positive side, awareness is growing. Therapy is normalized, information is accessible, and people are consciously trying to build healthier habits. The real challenge is learning how to lean into these positives without being consumed by the pressures.

What early signs of emotional burnout should people watch out for?

Burnout is complex—not an official diagnosis—so it shows up differently for everyone. Yet common early warning signs include:

• Physical: constant fatigue, headaches, poor sleep, frequent illnesses

• Cognitive: difficulty concentrating, forgetfulness, reduced problem-solving

• Emotional: irritability, numbness, detachment from things once enjoyed

• Social: withdrawal, feeling burdened by fundamental interactions

Catching burnout early is crucial—once it solidifies, recovery often takes longer than expected.

Dr. Sarthak Dave

How does digital overwhelm or constant connectivity affect our minds?

Digital overload rewires the mind in subtle but powerful ways. When we constantly process information—most of it unimportant—we experience:

• Cognitive overload and fragmented attention

• Sleep disruption from screen exposure

• Comparison-driven insecurity

• Social media envy and FOMO

• Posting fatigue—performing your life online

• Chronic validation-seeking

• A persistent background of anxiety from notifications

This leaves the brain feeling busy but not fulfilled, connected but not grounded, entertained but not nourished.

What simple daily habits can significantly improve mental health?

Go back to basics—care for yourself as you would care for a child.

• Routine is key: Predictable wake times, meals, and wind-down cues signal safety to the nervous system.

• Physical care: Even 20 minutes of daily movement can reset stress hormones and boost mood. Better sleep and balanced meals amplify clarity.

• Emotional check-ins: Pause a few times a day to name what you’re feeling. Labeling emotions helps the brain process them instead of drowning in them.

• Digital boundaries: No-phone mornings, device-free meals, nightly screen cut-offs—these protect attention and sleep.

• Rest pockets: Allow real rest, not productivity disguised as rest.

• Social connection: A few minutes of genuine conversation releases oxytocin and grounds you.

• Micro-joys: Sunlight, music, hydration, mindful breaths—small and powerful mood stabilizers.

Daily habits may look small, but they’re the tiny steps that create long-term transformation.

How can young adults balance ambition with emotional stability?

Ambition and emotional health can coexist—when ambition is designed, not chased blindly. Growing fast shouldn’t come at the cost of breaking internally.

• Start with structured self-awareness:

• Daily check-ins to monitor stress and energy

• A Not-To-Do list to cut noise

• Avoiding imitation of society’s “success templates.”

• Matching ambition to your personal capacity

• Staying in the adaptive zone—challenged, but not overwhelmed

• Staying aligned with personal values

• Prioritizing rest, recovery, and rejuvenation

Emotional stability isn’t the opposite of ambition—it’s the foundation that keeps ambition sustainable, creative, and long-term.

Known for her disciplined lifestyle, she often shares insights into her fitness routine and wellness philosophy.

Staying Consistent With Fitness

I’ve had phases when I was highly dedicated to fitness and phases when I didn’t work out for over 6 months. Recently, I realised my mental health, consistency, and discipline all improve when I move my body. Even five push-ups are better than doing nothing. It doesn’t have to be about reps — just movement.

I do Pilates, gymnastics, kickboxing, boxing, and MMA, including Muay Thai and jiujitsu. I also make sure to get in 30 minutes of cardio and core work. This has been my routine lately.

Your Top Five Fitness Rules

These are what work for me:

doesn’t suit you.

2. Waking up early — I’m an early riser and love morning workouts; by noon, I feel accomplished and energised.

3. Matcha over coffee — coffee overstimulates me, but matcha gives me steady energy.

4. Two kiwis every morning — my dose of vitamin C.

5. Pescatarian, balanced meals — one fish meal a day, lots of salad and fibre, and a hearty breakfast with eggs, carbs, and sourdough.

“You Are What You Eat” — Your Diet Philosophy

I’ve learned this through experience: I feel the difference when I eat clean, balanced meals. I’m more energetic and motivated. Of course, Delhi food is irresistible — parathas, butter chicken — and cheat days are needed for mental happiness.

But even for comfort food, I prefer homemade over restaurant food. I’ve become more conscious of what I eat and try to keep it clean and nourishing.

Fitness Challenges & Overcoming Them

My biggest challenge is inertia. When I’m regular, I enjoy working out and push myself hard — but if I get lazy, I completely stop. So I make sure to move my body in some way every day. It doesn’t have to be a six-day routine or a 10K run. Even a slight movement keeps me disciplined.

Diet & Foods You Swear By

I’m very easygoing with my diet. I love ghar ka khana and enjoy going out with friends occasionally. I never restrict myself — if I crave something, I’d rather eat it and work out better the next day instead of feeling guilty for a week.

For me, it’s not a “diet” anymore — it’s a lifestyle. I don’t aim for a specific weight; I strive to be strong. I want endurance, strength, the ability to do a cartwheel or backflip, and to stay injury-free. That’s my goal now.

What Inspires Your Fitness Journey?

My biggest motivation is imagining myself 10–15 years from now — still strong, fit, and able to use my body to its fullest. Anyone who stays disciplined inspires me. It could be my driver going for a walk after a long workday or my mom completing her 10K steps. Consistency in any form motivates me.

Does Public Pressure Affect You?

Yes, it does. I had a rough year because I wasn’t taking care of myself and became lazy — and my profession doesn’t allow that. My mental health doesn’t allow that either. I don’t feel good when I’m not taking care of myself.

This year taught me how much natural dopamine we get from workouts, sunlight, or even eating a good fruit. I’m now focused on being my best version — not the version with abs, but the version that feels strong and healthy.

Protecting Your Mental Well-Being

I mix up my workouts, so I never feel stagnant. Earlier, I stuck to strict routines, but I realised I get bored easily. Now I do everything — Pilates for posture and flexibility, kickboxing/ boxing for strength, HIIT for cardio, gymnastics for fun, and yoga for balance.

The variety keeps me mentally fresh and physically challenged.

The Fittest Stars in Bollywood?

Tiger Shroff, definitely. And Hrithik Roshan — considering his back injuries and age, the way he has rebuilt his fitness is incredible. Samantha is also excellent; she takes her fitness and health very seriously. Honestly, anyone who prioritises their health inspires me.

Fitness Resolution for 2026

I want to learn how to swim correctly. I can do laps, but I’m scared of the ocean. I want to improve my swimming and make it a regular part of my fitness routine in 2026.

Soni Srivastava

Soni Srivastava, known for her roles in MAD and Maataraani Mounamidhi, is an emerging actress making her mark in Telugu cinema. With her expressive performances and on-screen charm, she has quickly become a promising talent to watch. Beyond acting, Soni is passionate about wellness and often shares her disciplined fitness routine with fans. Balancing strength training, yoga, and mindful eating, she credits her regimen for keeping her energised and camera-ready.

What is your daily fitness routine like?

I like to start with achievable goals and gradually increase the intensity. I aim to work out at least three times a week—that’s nonnegotiable for me. On days when I can’t hit the gym, I switch to dance. Dancing keeps me active, motivated, and helps me learn something new every day.

Three fitness mantras you live by:

For me, it’s simple—move your body to feel alive, eat well, and eat in moderation. These three habits keep me grounded and consistent.

How do you balance your diet?

I include fruits, green leafy vegetables, proteins, and healthy fats in my meals. But I also believe in balance—so yes, I indulge in unlimited biryani, noodles, or a midnight dessert once in a while!

The industry is competitive and full of pressure. How do you protect your mental well-being?

I never look at competition as a burden. Every artist has their own beauty and journey. I focus on enjoying my process, discovering myself, and evolving at my own pace. That mindset keeps me peaceful and motivated.

Your biggest fitness inspirations: Shilpa Shetty and Disha Patani.

Fitness to you is: Discipline.

How do you balance work and fitness?

Small wins add up. Every bit of movement counts. On days I can’t work out, I make sure to take the stairs, walk more, or squeeze in some stretching—anything that keeps my body active.

COMO AGUA

REIMAGINED:

Tucked into Vagator’s lush tropical edge and gazing out at the Arabian Sea, Como Agua has always been one of Goa’s most striking venues. But this season, it has transformed from a beloved pizzeria and Negroni bar into a full-bodied culinary destination — one that’s as committed to craft as it is to creativity. Ratna Vuppala gives a lowdown of this place

A Menu Built on Freshness — and You Can Taste It

The refreshed menu, led by Chef Amit Kumar, is anchored by a simple, rare promise: no processed ingredients Everything — from the citrus infusions in the cocktails to the buttermilk in the fried chicken — is made fresh, in-house, and handled with intention.

My meal began with the Citrus Avocado Toast, an unassuming dish elevated by its creaminess and surprising brightness. The avocado was lush without being heavy, with citrus cutting through in all the right ways.

The Fried Chicken Tenders were a standout — juicy, crisp, and coated in a house-made buttermilk batter. The sweet chilli dip on the side delivered the perfect hint of warmth without overpowering the chicken’s tenderness.

Then came the star of their new commitments: the Burrata with Garlic Chimichurri, served with warm focaccia. Light, fresh, fragrant — and unmistakably high-quality. Their fresh mozzarella and burrata are made in-house using A2 milk, giving the cheese a rich yet clean flavour that sets it apart from anything you’ll usually find in Goa.

Pasta That Surprises, Pizza That Comforts

For mains, the Fettuccine was easily one of the best I’ve had in recent memory — silky, perfectly cooked, and subtly indulgent without being overwhelming. The Spaghetti Aglio Olio was simple, bold, and executed with confidence: exactly how Italian classics should be.

Of course, Como Agua’s heritage lies in its pizza — and their Neapolitan-style pies, slow-fermented for 48 hours, continue to shine.

In the vegetarian selection, The Farm stood out with its tangy tomatobasil base, fresh mozzarella, olives, mushrooms, and beautifully caramelized onions. For non-vegetarians, Hot Honey & Double Pepperoni was irresistible: salty, spicy, sweet, and profoundly satisfying thanks to that signature spicy house-made honey.

Cocktails That Tell Their Own Stories

At the bar, Head Mixologist Aman Dhiman brings a thoughtful, ingredient-first approach, creating drinks that are fresh, balanced, and deeply layered — without a single drop of processed juice. Each cocktail feels like a journey.

She’s Perfect, a clarified gin cocktail with watermelon, is bright and refreshing.

The Nest, with truffle vermouth and a white chocolate egg, is whimsical but can be strong for some.

For something playful and bold, Two Honeybees brings together tequila, smoked honey, and raw mango pickle.

The 1 AM Friend, Shiso Sexy, and Turn The Page offer more tropical, fruity interpretations, while Sláinte leans into warm, woody notes.

And the most unexpected creation on the list — High Tea at Harrods — blends gin, Campari, Kahlua, jaggery, and Tres Leches foam into a dessert-like cocktail that somehow remains balanced.

What ties them all together is a commitment to Indian-grown ingredients: sea buckthorn from the Himalayas, Kerala vanilla, raw mangoes, vetiver — transformed into something ultra-refined.

The Atmosphere: Vibrant,

Easy, Effortlessly Goa

Como Agua’s setting adds to the experience — lantanawoven architecture, lush green surroundings, and sweeping, beautiful sea views without feeling overdone. The service is warm and attentive. Though the views remain stunning, parts of the venue feel a little dated, and a refresh in maintenance and décor would go a long way in enhancing the overall experience.

Final Verdict:

A Rare Culinary High in Goa

The food is vibrant and consistent, the cocktails are imaginative, and the commitment to in-house craftsmanship — especially the mozzarella — is bold and refreshing.

It’s not just a place to eat; it’s a place to experience One of the few spots in recent times where meal after meal truly impressed — enough to make you want to come back the next day.

Como Agua isn’t just evolving. It’s setting a new benchmark for Goa’s dining scene.

Location: Como Agua, Vagator Beach, North Goa, Goa, India

What if a museum didn’t just show you history, but revealed the very values that built India as a civilisation?

Abhay Prabhavana is a remarkable museum nestled far away from the rush and noise of the city. Surrounded by peaceful rural landscapes and open skies, the place feels deliberately distanced from distractions, almost as if silence itself is part of the experience. As Vonteru Aarthi Reddy explores, this space offers far more than visual exhibits.

Unlike any museum I’ve visited, Abhay Prabhavana does not rely on ancient artefacts or recycled displays. Instead, it invites you on a carefully crafted journey to understand India’s values, evolution, and inner wisdom. What makes it even more extraordinary is that the museum took nearly ten years to build— researching, writing, sculpting, designing, revising, and refining all dedicated to presenting India’s civilisation with clarity and integrity.

A Museum Built Like a Civilisation — Layer by Layer

The first thing that struck me was how thoughtfully everything is structured. This is not a place that overwhelms you with dates and artefacts. Instead, the museum unfolds like a narrative, a story of who we are, where we came from, and why our civilisation stood firm for thousands of years.

The journey begins with India’s ancient values. Concepts like Atma, Karma, restraint, truthfulness, compassion, and discipline, often misunderstood or oversimplified, are explained here with remarkable clarity. Visual storytelling blends seamlessly with philosophy. As you move forward, the museum transitions into India’s civilizational story. You witness how our earliest cultures formed along the rivers, how Jain, Buddhist, and Vedic traditions shaped thought, and how ideas circulated freely in ancient India. The narrative is honest and balanced; it explains prosperity, decline, resilience, and transformation without exaggeration or omission.

Everything inside the museum is freshly created: every sculpture, every painting, every animation, and every mural. Nothing is borrowed. Nothing is copied. The centrepiece, a striking contemporary depiction of Rishabhdev, stands tall as a symbol of India’s earliest civilizational leadership. Its Art Deco-inspired form reflects both strength and serenity, a perfect representation of India’s value-driven evolution.

And then there is the setting. Far from city traffic, surrounded by nature, the museum offers a place to reflect physically and mentally. During my visit, I barely touched my phone. It felt natural to unplug, to breathe slowly, and to absorb the environment. In today’s hyperdigital world, this alone makes Abhay Prabhavana worth visiting. I spent nearly four hours exploring the museum, yet it never felt long. Instead, it felt necessary. It offered something I rarely find on the road: clarity.

Abhay Prabhavana explains India not as a nation-state, but as a civilisation shaped by timeless ideas. It reveals how deeply our ancestors understood human behaviour, health, society, discipline, and emotional intelligence. It shows that India’s strength was never in power or conquest, but in values that encouraged collaboration, respect, and coexistence.

The experience is peaceful, engaging, and surprisingly modern. Everything feels designed for today’s generation, especially students and young adults. Families can walk through together and actually learn something meaningful. Schools can bring students here to understand values beyond textbooks. And travellers, like me, leave with a stronger sense of identity not because we are told to feel proud, but because the truth itself is powerful.

7 QUESTIONS WITH SHRI ABHAY FIRIODIA

During my visit, I had the privilege of speaking with the founder, Shri Abhay Firodia, whose vision brought this museum to life. His responses were friendly, thoughtful, and wonderfully clear, a reflection of the museum itself.

Q: What inspired you to create Abhay Prabhavana?

I felt that India’s civilizational values were not reaching the younger generation in a meaningful way. I wanted to present these ideas in a modern, relatable form that anyone could understand.

Q: Why did the project take nearly ten years? Because we built everything from the ground up, the research, the content, the sculptures, the visuals. Accuracy takes time, and we didn’t want to compromise on quality.

Q: How do you describe the Indian value system?

It is rooted in collaboration, coexistence, and inner discipline. These values shaped our society for centuries and remain relevant even today.

Q: Why was the museum built in a rural location?

Reflection requires peace. Being away from the city allows visitors to slow down, disconnect, and truly absorb the experience.

Q: Which element of the museum reflects your vision most clearly?

The values galleries. They simplify complex ideas without losing depth. For me, clarity is the essence of this entire project.

Q: Who is the museum designed for?

For everyone, but especially for the youth. Understanding values early creates a strong foundation for life.

Q: Q: What impact do you hope visitors experience?

I hope they leave with a clearer sense of India’s civilizational wisdom and a deeper understanding of themselves.

The 5 Most Expensive Private Islands

As India’s luxury travel scene steps into 2026, the idea of escape has transformed. No longer just vacations, private island rentals have become portals where time slows down, sea wind feels like scripture, and silence heals in ways noise never can. writes about the five most extravagant private islands you can rent for the New Year in and around India.

Munjoh Private Island, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, India

Tucked deep within the turquoise cradle of the Andaman lies Munjoh Private Island, a sanctuary carved for those who prefer whisper over crowds.

This ultra-luxury island offers private beaches, palm-lined coves, and villas that blend barefoot simplicity with refined indulgence. At night, the sky becomes a cathedral of stars. At dawn, the island wakes in a golden hush.

Private chefs craft ocean-fresh menus, spa therapists arrive at your doorstep, and your very own yacht stands ready.

Fregate Island, Seychelles

Just a few hours from India by air, the Seychelles unfold like a dream, and Fregate Island is its crown jewel. This is luxury at its most uncompromised. Only a handful of villas exist on the entire island, each carved into the landscape with an artist’s touch.

Think infinity pools suspended above the sea, private butlers who know your preferences before you speak, and beaches so untouched they look ancient.

Fregate is where billionaires and Hollywood royalty choose to vanish. A perfect place to let the New Year rise without the world watching.

Sirai Island, Zanzibar, Tanzania

Far across the Indian Ocean, but spiritually close to India’s sense of coastal romance, lies Sirai Island. This private island is rented as a whole, which means your group gets the island entirely to yourselves. No strangers. No interruptions. Nothing but you, the ocean, and the wind.

The villa feels like a modern fortress made of coral stone and East African charm, complete with panoramic pools, cliffside dining decks, and a staff trained to deliver silence as gracefully as service.

Voavah Private Island, Maldives

Just a short flight from India, the Maldives is synonymous with luxury — but Four Seasons Private Island Voavah is a world above even that.

This seven-bedroom private island comes with:

• A private white-sand lagoon

• A luxury yacht at your disposal

• A marine conservation center

• Personal chefs crafting Michelin-caliber meals

Voavah doesn’t feel like a resort. It feels like a realm — one you rule for as long as you stay.

Thanda Island, Mozambique

Though farther away, Thanda Island is a legend among private island travelers.

Imagine: a single ultra-luxury villa set amid 8 hectares of untouched island wilderness. A place where the sea turns rose-gold at sunset and the beaches remain scallopwhite, untouched and endless.

This island blends Scandinavian elegance with African soul, offering jet skis, deep-sea diving, whale shark excursions, and curated beach feasts under lantern-lit palms.

HEALING TEMPLES:

In India, the divine and the medicinal have never lived apart. Here, faith isn’t just a prayer; it’s a pulse. It flows through temple corridors scented with camphor, rises with mantras at dawn, and lingers in the herbal smoke of age-old rituals. Long before laboratories and hospitals defined health, Indians sought balance between the physical and the spiritual, between body, mind, and the cosmos.

Today, as the modern world burns out in its search for healing, these healing temples stand quietly, bridging belief and therapy, mysticism, and science. They remind us that medicine need not always come in a bottle; sometimes, it's found in devotion, energy, and sacred tradition.

takes us on a journey through the heart of India, where faith and alternative medicine walk hand in hand.

Where Faith Meets Alternative Medicine In India

Vaitheeswaran Koil, Tamil Nadu

Tucked in the heart of Tamil Nadu lies Vaitheeswaran Koil, named after Vaidyanatha Swamy, a form of Lord Shiva known as the Divine Healer. For centuries, devotees have arrived here with faith in the temple’s sacred waters and rituals for their curative powers.

The temple’s theertham is believed to have medicinal properties, infused with herbs used in ancient Siddha medicine—even the priests here know the old healing chants and herbal combinations. From skin diseases to chronic pain, this temple is seen as a place where faith amplifies natural healing, where medicine is both prayed for and practiced.

Kottiyoor Shiva Temple, Kerala

Deep within the lush forests of Kerala’s Kannur district, the Kottiyoor Shiva Temple blooms every year during its monsoon festival. What makes it extraordinary isn’t its architecture but its elemental simplicity. Built near natural springs, it turns into an open-air altar of mud, water, and air, the original Ayurvedic ingredients.

Devotees bathe in the spring believed to balance the body’s doshas, Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, bringing internal harmony. The temple’s connection with nature itself becomes a therapy; grounding, cooling, and deeply purifying. This is healing not from medicine, but from remembering we are nature.

Guruvayur Temple, Kerala

One of South India’s holiest shrines, the Guruvayurappan temple isn’t just about divine blessings; it’s about restoring the spirit’s rhythm. The temple runs traditional Ayurvedic clinics and healing centers nearby, where pilgrims seek treatments for chronic ailments using herbs, oils, and therapies mentioned in classical texts. The idea here is simple yet profound; illness begins in the mind. Through prayer, ritual diet, and rest, Guruvayur teaches that health returns when the heart surrenders. The deity here isn’t just a God; He’s a healer in bronze and belief.

Nanjundeswhara Temple, Karnataka

Located on the banks of the Kabini River, this temple worships Lord Shiva, who consumed poison to save the world. Thus earning the name Nanjundeshwara, the Healer. The temple’s sacred water. Parashurama Theertha is said to hold curative powers for skin and eye diseases.

Ayurvedic practitioners nearby blend this spiritual energy with traditional treatments, believing that faith accelerates recovery. It’s a perfect example of India’s enduring belief that true healing is not just physical, it’s cosmic.

Mehandipur Balaji Temple, Rajasthan

A temple as mysterious as it is magnetic, Mehandipur Balaji in Rajasthan, stands at the crossroads of faith and psychology. Known for its spiritual healing of mental afflictions and negative energies, this temple attracts thousands who believe that divine energy can cleanse what modern medicine sometimes cannot explain.

The rituals, chanting, prayer, and collective energy are intense. Yet, psychologists studying faith healing have noted real emotional release and catharsis among devotees. Science may not define it, but here, the unseen finds a voice.

WHY ORGANIC PET BRANDS ARE THE NEW GOLD STANDARD?

The way India loves its pets has changed. Our furry, feathered, and scaled companions are no longer just pets; they are family. And as conscious pet parenting grows, so does the demand for products that are as pure and healthy as the food we put on our own tables.

Welcome to the Organic Pet Revolution in India, where home-grown brands are leading the charge with natural, chemical-free solutions for nutrition, grooming, and overall wellness.

Why Are Indian Pet Parents Going Organic?

A desire for better health and a cleaner environment drives the shift from conventional to organic pet care. Here’s why more Indian households are making the switch:

• Fewer Allergens and Sensitivities: Organic food and grooming products are free of common irritants such as synthetic colours, artificial preservatives (like BHA/ BHT), and cheap fillers, which can often cause skin issues, digestive problems, and long-term health concerns.

• Superior Nutrition: Organic food often uses humangrade ingredients, high-quality lean proteins, and natural sources of essential fatty acids (Omega-3s and 6s), which lead to a shinier coat, healthier skin, and improved energy levels.

• Ayurvedic Wisdom: Many Indian organic brands incorporate traditional Ayurvedic herbs like Neem, Turmeric, and Aloe Vera—known for their antiinflammatory, anti-fungal, and soothing properties— providing a holistic approach to pet wellness.

• Environmental Responsibility: Choosing organic supports sustainable farming practices and biodegradable products, aligning with a more ecoconscious lifestyle.

Top Indian Brands Leading The Organic Pet Care

Dogsee Chew is perhaps the most famous example of an indigenous brand going global. Their famous Dogsee chew Hard Bars are 100% natural, preservative-free treats made from hardened Himalayan yak and cow milk cheese, using an ancient recipe. Captain Zack, Pet Veda: For Grooming

When it comes to bath time and topical care, these brands are often recommended for their natural formulations. Captain Zack is known for its innovative, modern packaging and chemical-free shampoos that target specific issues like ticks, fleas, and sensitive skin.

Pet Veda is an ayurvedic-focused brand offering shampoos and conditioners enriched with natural Indian botanicals, such as Neem and Tea Tree Oil.

Final Advice for the Organic Pet Parent

Switching your pet to an organic lifestyle is an investment in their long-term health and happiness.

• Read the Label, Not the Front: Always look past the marketing. The ingredient list should primarily feature whole, recognizable foods (e.g., Chicken, Rice, Peas) and avoid words like 'by-products,' 'meal,' or complex chemical names.

• Consult Your Vet: Before making a drastic diet change, consult your veterinarian, especially if your pet has existing health conditions or allergies. A gradual transition is always recommended.

• Start with Treats: Mf you're hesitant about the cost of a complete diet switch, introduce organic treats and natural grooming products to see the difference firsthand!

The movement towards organic pet care is more than just a trend—it's a commitment to giving our beloved pets the cleanest, healthiest life possible. It's time to let nature work its magic!

The Cultural Renaissance of 2025: Stories,

Sounds, and Screens That Defined Our Year

Every few years, culture wakes up. It shakes off the glitter of hype and the exhaustion of algorithms, and remembers why it exists: to make us feel. 2025 was that year.

It was a year when cinema looked inward, music spoke from the gut, and books dared to whisper truths louder than noise. It wasn’t about what trended; it was about what touched. Across languages and continents, from stadium screens to small-town shelves, a rare sincerity returned to art.

So here it is, the heart of a year that gave us back our faith in creativity. The top 6 songs, top 6 films, and top 6 books of 2025, the trinity of sound, story, and soul.

Top 6 Songs of 2025: The Year Music Found Its Soul Again

If love had a curtain call, this would be its soundtrack. “Die with a Smile” feels like a whispered promise at the world’s end. It’s vulnerable, timeless, perfectly restrained. Gaga and Mars blend heartbreak with grace, soul with silence.

It’s rare when two powerhouses meet and choose softness over spectacle. The retro visuals, slow-burning arrangement, and raw harmony make this song a classic in an age that forgets to pause.

Ed Sheeran’s Sapphire gleams with a rare kind of intimacy, where Western pop meets Eastern longing, with Arijit Singh’s voice woven through the melody. It’s both global and grounded, like the sound of two worlds learning to breathe together.

The song is tender yet mighty. It moves slowly, almost reverently, and reminds us why Sheeran’s music feels less like a performance and more like a conversation.

Then there’s Uyi Amma—a song that doesn’t shout, it shakes you.

Composed by Amit Trivedi, sung by Madhubanti Bagchi, and penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, it stands as one of the most stirring musical creations of 2025.

The Choreography by Bosco Martis adds visual poetry; Rasha Thandani’s fiery performance transforms it into a cinematic cry for freedom.

Pure adrenaline. “Firestorm” is not a song; it’s a declaration. Thaman S crafts an anthem built for roaring crowds and blazing screens. The percussion hits like thunder, the chorus bites like steel, and every note feels cinematic.

It’s a storm dressed as a song, and Pawan Kalyan’s aura turns it into legend. Telugu music has found its swagger again—and it sounds like Firestorm.

This one smells like rain on red earth. Bheems Ceciroleo’s composition celebrates the Godavari region with rustic charm and cinematic splendour. Its folk roots wrapped in festival spirit—a track that captures home, harvest, and heart.

It’s proof that when regional music speaks honestly, it doesn’t stay local—it becomes universal.

Sometimes, music just wants you to move. “Boom Boom” by Sai Abhyankkar is that unapologetic burst of joy. This is a track that trades philosophy for fun.

It’s fresh, flirty, and fearlessly modern. The kind of song that sneaks into your playlist, makes you dance in traffic, and reminds you why music exists: not just to feel deeply, but to feel alive.

From the outset, this film revs up not just its engines but our expectations. Starring Brad Pitt as a once-great driver drawn back into Formula One, the film immerses you in the roar of machines and the human heart behind the wheel.

The big set-pieces shine; racing sequences filmed during real Grand Prix weekends, backed by the weight of ambition and legacy. Yet beneath the chrome and speed lies a familiar story of comeback and redemption. For lovers of cinema with grandeur and pulse, this hits the mark.

Deep in the forest of myth and memory lies this film. Raw, rooted, and unflinching. When the final act ignites, it reminds us why cinema of this kind matters—for a moment, you’re not just watching a film, you’re living a legend.

In the Telugu filmosphere of 2025, one of the picks that stands out for both ambition and execution is Mirai, a fantasy-tinged drama that blends visual grandeur with emotional core.

Though it may not have the box-office thunder of bigger names, its willingness to explore myths, memories, and the uncharted terrain of the heart makes it worthy.

For the cine-savvy reader: this is the kind of film that surprises by being gentle yet bold.

Top 6 Must-Read Books Of 2025

Backman has always written about ordinary people and the extraordinary tenderness hidden inside them. My Friends continues that legacy. Set in a small Swedish town where everyone knows everyone and everything. This novel unravels the tangled lives of four friends as they stumble into adulthood and the painful beauty of growing up.

It’s not just a story of friendship. It’s about how we hold on when life changes its rhythm. Backman’s prose is gentle yet piercing, like being hugged and gutted at once. If A Man Called Ove made you cry, My Friends will leave you staring at the ceiling, smiling through the ache. This is the kind of book that feels lived-in, human, humble, and quietly magnificent.

The queen of dragon fiction is back, and she’s not holding back her fire. Onyx Storm, the third in Yarros’s Empyrean saga, is pure combustion: romance, rebellion, and raw emotion. The stakes are higher, the dragons fiercer, the heartbreak deeper.

Yarros understands something most fantasy writers forget that world-building means nothing if you don’t make the reader feel. Every battle has a pulse; every kiss, a consequence. Beneath all the fire and flight, this is a story about power who wields it, who pays for it, and who dares to challenge it. Expect sleepless nights and shredded nerves.

Ken Follett has never been content to tell small stories. Circle of Days, a monumental historical novel about the creation of Stonehenge, is a towering return to the kind of storytelling that built civilizations.

He takes you back five thousand years, into a world where faith and fear were indistinguishable, where men built monuments not for glory but for gods. Follett’s detail is cinematic: the sound of chisels, the taste of blood, the smell of stone dust. Yet beneath all that grandeur, he finds the same fragile thread of humanity that binds us now.

This is not a quick read; it’s an experience. One that reminds you that our ancestors weren’t primitive; they were dreamers, builders, believers.

Every few years, Dan Brown reappears like a comet — burning bright, scattering mystery and conspiracy in his wake. The Secret of Secrets is his boldest yet. This time, he leaves the Vatican behind and dives deep into the origins of consciousness itself. Think neuroscience meets myth, code meets creed. The story moves between hidden monasteries in Tibet, the crypts of Istanbul, and secret research labs in Geneva. All connected by a manuscript said to hold “the final proof of the divine.”

Brown’s pacing is relentless; his clues are addictive. You turn pages not because you want to — but because you have to. It’s a story about faith, knowledge, and the danger of understanding too much. Love him or mock him, Brown knows how to make a reader feel alive. And that’s a rare art.

Collins returns to Panem, but this isn’t a retread; it’s a revelation. Sunrise on the Reaping, set decades before Katniss Everdeen picked up her bow, traces the 50th Hunger Games, a turning point in the Capitol’s iron rule.

This book drips with dread and despair but also compassion. Collins exposes not just the Games, but the machinery behind them. Propaganda, poverty, and the slow conditioning of cruelty. Her prose is spare, brutal, and hauntingly honest. She doesn’t offer heroes; she only gives choices. And in those choices, the moral rot of the world becomes clear. It’s the kind of prequel that doesn’t explain the past. It deepens it, making the entire saga hit harder.

After a shelf of fiction and fantasy, this book lands like a sharp breath of reality. Mel Robbins, who turned five-second courage into a global phenomenon, returns with The Let Them Theory: A Life-Changing Tool That Millions of People Can’t Stop Talking About

The premise is deceptively simple: stop fighting every current, stop trying to fix what others think, and let them. Let them talk. Let them leave. Let them misunderstand. In those two words lies liberation, not the manic kind of self-help hustle, but the calm strength of boundaries.

Robbins writes with the energy of someone who’s lived through noise and finally found peace. It’s not another motivational manual; it’s a compass pointing you back to yourself.
