And in true Indian style, they often come with all the splendour, emotion, and joy that make them unforgettable.

In this issue, we bring you “Trending Now: The Big Fat Indian Wedding 2025” — a complete guide to what’s hot, stylish, and essential for the year ahead. Our Fashion & Style section features Shantanu & Nikhil, who are redefining men’s wedding wear with bold, contemporary twists, while Manish Malhotra takes us through the latest bridal couture trends. We also have Sandy’s expert tips for timeless bridal makeup and styling, and of course, the sparkle of jewellery that ties it all together.

Décor and experiences are at the heart of any wedding, and we’ve got Dinaz sharing her vision of dreamy wedding spaces. Top wedding planners reveal what it takes to curate flawless celebrations, while photographers talk about iconic frames and the 10 bridal poses every couple must capture. Food, beauty, wellness, entertainment, and travel — we’ve packed it all in, with insights from some of the best names in the industry.

But here’s the one thing I want every bride, groom, and family to remember: weddings are not about perfection. They’re not just about that perfect lehenga shot or that picture-perfect mandap. They’re about the laughter, the tears, the hugs, the dances — the little moments that stay with you long after the guests have left. Don’t overwhelm yourself with details or

stress about getting everything right. Take a breath, look around, and truly be in the moment.

Because at the end of the day, weddings are a once-in-a-lifetime experience. And perfection lies not in flawless planning, but in the joy of celebrating love.

Here’s to the start of something magical.

The Big Fat

INDIAN WEDDING PLAYBOOK

The Big Fat Indian Wedding is more than a celebration—it’s an experience. From grand floral mandaps to Instagram-worthy dessert tables, from runwayready garment trends by top designers to celebrity-inspired makeup and cinematic wedding photography, we explore the trends redefining how India says “I do” in 2025.

SHANTANU & NIKHIL ON REDEFINING THE MODERN GROOM

Shantanu & Nikhil redefine the modern groom in 2025—merging architectural tailoring with fluid drapes, pastel palettes, and statement detailing. From militaryinspired bandhgalas to androgynous accents, the duo’s vision champions versatility, relevance, and unapologetic self-expression for the Big Fat Indian Wedding.

Shantanu & Nikhil are pioneers in introducing drapes to Indian menswear. How has that silhouette evolved for the modern groom?

When we first brought drapes into men’s couture, it was a statement against the stiffness of ceremonial wear, a way to soften structure without losing authority. Over the years, the drape has evolved from being a fluid accent to a fully integrated sartorial code. Today, it works in harmony with sharp tailoring, creating silhouettes that are commanding yet effortless.

In our recent collection- Metropolis, the drape takes on sharper intent: asymmetric overlays under cropped bandhgalas, crossover shirts beneath cinched jackets, and pleated pearllayered inners under contemporary overcoat sherwanis. For the modern groom, this isn’t embellishment; it’s a language of movement and ease, balancing regality with relevance.

-How are you making your signature style more accessible to younger or more experimental grooms?

Accessibility, for us, is about adaptability. In Metropolis, every silhouette is conceived to travel between moments and ceremonies; an overcoat sherwani layered for the wedding procession, then pared down for a more intimate after-event. By reimagining our codes in lighter constructions, modular layers, and versatile cuts, with hints of bling, evolving grooms can engage with ceremonial couture on their own terms without losing the gravitas that defines it.

-What are the top three menswear trends for weddings in 2025?

• Architectural layering: Overcoat sherwanis and cinched bandhgalas paired with fluid drapes.

• Statement detailing: Crest insignias, twotoned embroideries, and pearl and metallic details that quietly command attention.

• Androgynous Edge: The crossover of elements, ruffles, sheer overlays, and soft pleating into menswear, reinforcing the idea that strength and softness can coexist.

Which colours are dominating the grooms wear palette this season?

One of the most striking shifts in grooms wear is the departure from conventional dark tones to softer pastels, once considered feminine, now embraced as a bold style statement. In our latest couture collection, noir remains the anchor for evening formality, while pearl and ivory lead the charge for daytime ceremonies. Sand gold, pewter, and chrome bring an understated metallic gravitas, while vintage pastels emerge as modern statements for pre-wedding festivities. Every hue is curated to amplify the architectural tailoring, symbolic insignias, and fluid drapery that define the new code of menswear.

Sand gold, pewter, and chrome bring an understated metallic gravitas, while vintage pastels emerge as modern statements for pre-wedding festivities.

What are the new-age alternatives to traditional sherwanis or bandhgalas?

The new age alternatives emerge from a space of not replacing tradition but reinventing it. The sherwani becomes an open-cut overcoat with a draped inner, the bandhgala evolves into a cropped silhouette with an asymmetric front accentuated with Shantanu Nikhil's embroidered crest from the house codes, and the kurta transforms into a crossover drape with tonal layering. These adaptations keep the ceremonial essence intact but give the groom greater freedom in movement, styling, and self-expression. It’s tradition, reinterpreted through structure, drape, and a new code of menswear, which is here to stay.

Any signature looks or capsules you’ve designed specifically for groomsmen or male wedding parties? How can groomsmen stand out in smaller ceremonies like haldi, mehendi, or welcome dinners—without outshining the groom?

Signature groomsmen look embrace classic sartorial fits, cropped or cinched bandhgalas, and shirt-kurtas layered with waistcoats or lightweight jackets. We favour tonal depth, textured contrasts, and embroidered insignias, details that whisper rather than shout, crafting a visual language that feels refined, relevant, and unified.

It’s cohesion without cloning, anchoring the group in the codes of Metropolis: structure, fluidity, and contemporary design elements; this is the new code for groomsmen as well, without having to outshine the groom.

Men are now embracing jewellery beyond safas and brooches...What’s trending now? Must-have accessories for the groom this season?

Jewellery for the modern groom has evolved into a coded detail. In Metropolis, pearls take centre stage not just as strands, but as part of closures, layered over jackets, or woven into silhouettes. Jewelled punctuated details, metallic chains draped with precision, and sculptural waistbands add subtle authority to a groom’s ceremonial and cocktail wardrobe. The must-have accessory amplifies the design from within, merging function, form, and symbolism in a single statement.

One common mistake most grooms make with their wedding wardrobe.

Overcomplication. In pursuit of making a statement, many grooms add more layers, more embroidery, more accessories than the look requires. A well-cut sherwani with a single striking detail, whether it’s an asymmetric drape, a sculpted clasp, or a perfectly placed crest, will always speak louder than an ensemble burdened with excess. Timeless classics, worn with confidence and comfort, will always outlast trends.

How can grooms and groomsmen avoid looking repetitive across events?

Think of the wedding wardrobe as a series, not a set. The connection should be in the codesstructure, drape, and tonal sophistication, but the expression should evolve from one event to the next. For example, a wedding-day sherwani could give way to a reception look with a cropped bandhgala and metallic detailing, while the mehendi might explore lighter tones of drape kurtas and layered separates.

Layering, when done with precision, can transform ceremonial couture; a sharply tailored bandhgala over a fluid drape, or a cropped jacket paired with tonal separates instantly elevates presence.

Are there any fabrics, cuts, or styling tricks you feel are overused or outdated now?

Styling for the modern groom should be rooted in intention, not excess. Layering, when done with precision, can transform ceremonial couture; a sharply tailored bandhgala over a fluid drape, or a cropped jacket paired with tonal separates instantly elevates presence. The drape, in particular, remains timeless; it softens formality while preserving authority, making it as relevant today as when we first introduced it to menswear. It’s about building depth through silhouette, proportion, and texture, ensuring every element has a purpose.

Finally, what’s the one unexpected look or idea you wish more grooms would experiment with?

The pairing of structure with movement. A cinched overcoat sherwani layered over a fluid drape, or a sharply tailored jacket anchored with a metallic waistband, carries both authority and ease. It’s a reminder that the groom’s style can be as dynamic as the celebration itself; modern, versatile, and unafraid to merge ceremony with selfexpression.

MANISH MALHOTRA

on Bridal Trends 2025:

Redefining Glamour with Tradition

Few names in Indian fashion are as synonymous with bridal couture as Manish Malhotra. Known for blending timeless grandeur with modern sensibilities, he continues to set the tone for wedding style across the globe. In this exclusive conversation, he talks about making his signature style more accessible, the top trends for 2025, and how brides can balance tradition with innovation while keeping their individuality alive.

Manish Malhotra, Indian fashion designer

How are you making your signature bridal style more accessible to younger or more experimental brides while keeping that Manish Malhotra charm?

You know, brides today are really fearless. They love their traditions, of course, but they also want to bring in their own personality, and I think that’s beautiful. For me, it’s about giving them the grandeur they’ve come to expect from a Manish Malhotra bridal look but doing it in a way that feels fresh. That could mean innovative construction, modern silhouettes, or just a more effortless styling. The glamour will always be there; it’s just evolved. Sometimes it’s through a sharper corset, through a softer drape, but the magic is always alive.

What are the top three bridal trends you see ruling weddings in 2025?

So, first, I think it’s about layering. Whether it’s a signature head veil or even a cape, it allows a bride to really play with her look across different celebrations. It’s about highlighting unique embroidery or luxurious fabrics that can be styled in multiple ways. Then second, I’ve been loving crystal drapes, they bring in this beautiful sensuality and shimmer. It’s glamorous without trying too hard. And third, statement blousesbrides today are embracing unique necklines, dramatic sleeves, and corsetry to make the blouse the highlight.

Which colours are defining the Manish Malhotra bridal palette this season?

This season, I have been drawn to deep, decadent tones such as rich maroons, soft almond shades, old rose, and metallics that never go out of style. Deeper jewel tones are standing out this year, especially when paired with a modern finish, which feels unexpected.

For brides who want to go beyond the classic lehenga or saree, what fresh alternatives are you designing?

The one thing I really wanted to change was the double dupatta. It just felt like it was time to bring in something fresher, something lighter, but still keeping the essence of tradition intact. So, this season, we’ve been working with cape sleeves, crystal drapes that feel lighter yet glamorous, and these beautiful pearl-strewn ensembles that are rooted in Indian craftsmanship. You’ll see it in our Inaya collection - every detail is steeped in Indian craft, but the way the silhouettes are shaped, they speak to a global audience.

How can bridesmaids complement the bride’s outfit without looking too similar or overshadowing her?

They can reflect a detail from the bride’s outfit - maybe the embroidery or a hint of her colour palette - but more softly or playfully. It’s all about balance.

Have you created any special looks or capsules for bridesmaids and female wedding parties this season?

Yes, of course! From sarees to lehengas, there’s something for everyone in our Inaya collection.

For smaller pre-wedding events like mehendi, haldi, or welcome dinners, how can a bride keep her look unique while still feeling bridal?

For me, it’s really about playing with both colour and silhouette. A haldi outfit doesn’t always have to be that expected bright yellow- it can be ivory with just marigold accents. For the mehendi, you don’t have to stick to only green- you can experiment with mirror work, embroidery, or even playful prints. I feel like every function today is a chance to tell a different story. Whether it’s the haldi or the mehendi, a bride can choose to be different- perhaps wearing a lehenga or even a statement corset blouse.

Jewellery trends are shifting - what are the must-have accessories for the Manish Malhotra bride in 2025?

For 2025, at Manish Malhotra High Jewellery, we have crafted statement ear cuffs, diamond haathphools, and diamond hair accessories, while men can elevate their wardrobe with our exquisite brooches, buttons, and collar pins.

What’s one common mistake brides make with their wedding wardrobe, and how can they avoid it?

Sometimes brides want all the trends in one outfit. While I understand the excitement, I always tell them it’s important to choose one hero element. Maybe it’s the embroidery, maybe it’s the silhouette, or even just the colour. Once you decide on that, everything else should complement and support it. That way, the look feels intentional and striking. When one element becomes the statement, the whole outfit looks stronger.

Are there any fabrics, cuts, or styling choices you feel are overused or due for a refresh?

Heavy dupattas for every look. We can do lighter overlays, capes, or veils instead. Corsets, too, can be reimagined in fresher, more versatile ways that feel contemporary while still bridal. And then there are

cummerbunds. I feel like they’re such an underrated accessory. Styled differently, they can add that modern edge to an otherwise traditional silhouette. That’s something we’ve been experimenting with a lot in our bridalwear.

Finally, what’s one unexpected look or detail you wish more brides would try this year?

A crystal drape - it is oh so glamorous. It takes something every bride knows- the dupatta- and turns it into a piece of movement and modernity. It’s light, it’s unexpected, and it transforms tradition into something entirely new.

Sandeep Molugu (sandy artist) celebrity stylists and bridal makeup artists

Your signature style often plays with textures— how do you balance dewy, glowing skin with makeup that lasts all day for brides?

For me, it’s all about strategic layering. I love creating luminous skin, but I prep with mattifying primers in key areas like the T-zone and set only where needed. This way, the glow shines through while the makeup still stays intact from morning rituals to midnight dancing.

What’s one unconventional product or technique you swear by that most brides wouldn’t expect?

Eye drops—but not for the eyes! A tiny drop mixed into metallic, or shimmer pigments makes them glide on beautifully and stay crease-free for hours. It gives that ethereal glow without heavy layering.

How do you adapt a bride’s makeup to ensure it looks equally stunning in person and in highdefinition photographs/videos?

I work with a “soft-focus” principle. Products with light-reflecting properties keep the skin radiant in person, while carefully diffused contouring and a touch more definition on eyes and lips ensure the features don’t get washed out on camera.

With multiple wedding functions, how do you keep each bridal look fresh yet cohesive across events?

I treat it like a story arc—each look has a different mood, but they’re all connected by a thread. If the sangeet is playful with bold liner, the wedding may lean towards timeless elegance, and the reception becomes glamorous sophistication. Cohesion comes from balancing colour palettes across outfits while keeping the bride’s essence consistent.

What’s your approach when a bride’s personal style clashes with current trends — do you adapt the trend or stay true to her vibe?

Always the bride’s vibe first. Trends should enhance her individuality, not overshadow it. I’ll reinterpret a trend in a way that aligns with her personality—like a subtle version of a bold graphic liner or a modern twist on classic red lips.

How do you handle last-minute makeup emergencies, like a breakout or skin irritation, on the wedding day?

Calmness first—it reassures the bride. For breakouts, I rely on soothing ice compresses, colour-correcting concealers, and lightweight layering to keep coverage natural. For irritation, I switch to hypoallergenic formulas and focus on comfort, so she feels confident all day.

In your opinion, which makeup trends from the last few years should brides leave behind in 2025?

Overly heavy contouring and ultra-matte lips. Both can look dated and harsh, especially in bridal photography. The future is all about skin that looks like skin, with softer sculpting and lips that feel plush and hydrated.

For outdoor ceremonies, how do you protect the makeup from humidity, sweat, or unexpected weather?

It’s a combination of waterproof, sweat-resistant formulas, and smart touch-ups. Setting sprays with fixing agents, blotting sheets instead of powdering repeatedly, and prepping with the right skincare are key to making the look weather-proof.

What’s the role of skincare in achieving the perfect bridal base, and how early should brides start their prep?

Skincare is everything. Makeup can only perform as well as the canvas beneath it. Ideally, brides should begin targeted skincare at least 3–6 months in advance, focusing on hydration, gentle exfoliation, and sun protection. That glow doesn’t just come from foundation—it starts in the skin.

One makeup detail you think can instantly elevate a bridal look without going overboard?

Perfect brows. They frame the face and balance the entire look. A softly defined, natural brow can instantly elevate elegance without looking “done.”

How do you ensure makeup complements, not competes, with heavy bridal jewellery and outfits?

Balance is everything. If the outfit and jewellery are intricate, I opt for understated elegance in the makeup—maybe a soft smoky eye with nude lips. If the outfit is minimal, that’s when I’ll play up bold lips or dramatic eyes. It’s about harmony, not competition.

If you could design the “dream bridal makeup look” for 2025, what would it include?

For me, the 2025 bride embraces timeless with a twist—glowing skin, cloud-like blush, soft sculpting, and eyes that are defined yet dreamy with a hint of shimmer. Paired with lips in plush berry or rose tones, it’s fresh, modern, and effortlessly beautiful.

DINAZ’S DÉCOR

Diaries 2025: Wedding Trends & Tips

Nestled comfortably between luxury and elegance, Dinaz’s eye for imaginative design and impeccable execution creates multi-layered décor and immersive experiences that delight all the senses. From vintage elegance to contemporary glamour, Design & Décor by Dinaz has grown into a trendsetting firm curating celebrations that remain rooted in memory. From Ambanis to the Ram Charans and the who’s who of the country, weddings feel incomplete without her touch. Here, Dinaz shares her expert insights on wedding décor in 2025.

Dinaz Noria, founder of Dinaz's Décor

What are the most prominent wedding decor trends you’re observing across India in 2025?

This year, weddings are less about grandeur for its own sake and more about experiences. Décor is becoming highly immersive—each wedding tells a story through layered themes, curated art, and thoughtful detailing. Couples are leaning towards fusion concepts—traditional Indian elements blended seamlessly with contemporary luxury.

In your view, what is the single biggest decor transformation shaping Indian weddings this year?

The biggest transformation is the rise of personalisation at scale. Even the largest celebrations are designed to feel intimate and meaningful, where every detail reflects the couple’s journey. Décor has shifted from just visual beauty to becoming a medium of storytelling.

Which colour palettes are dominating the season? Have you noticed any surprising comebacks?

We’re seeing muted pastels paired with regal jewel tones—sapphire blues, emerald greens, and deep burgundy. The surprising comeback is gold—but not in its loud avatar; instead, antique, and brushed gold accents are adding understated richness.

Are couples leaning more towards luxurious opulence or sustainable minimalism in their decor choices?

Interestingly, they want both. Couples are very conscious today—they desire the glamour and drama of a luxury wedding, but with choices that reflect responsibility and mindfulness. So, the décor is opulent in aesthetic but minimal in waste, a balance of indulgence and intent.

From fresh to dried to faux, what’s trending in floral arrangements and installations?

There’s no single winner—it’s about a combination. Fresh florals bring fragrance and vibrancy, dried flowers add texture and timelessness, and highquality faux florals allow for larger-than-life installations. The interplay creates depth and longevity while keeping the visual impact intact.

How are you using lighting, projection mapping, or AR/VR to create immersive decor experiences?

Lighting has become the soul of décor. Recently, we’ve been using immersive LED screens—covering entire walls and ceilings—to bring themes alive. Whether it’s a sunrise, a starlit sky, or butterflies amidst trees, the visuals flow with the couple’s story and create a breathtaking, cinematic atmosphere.

In what ways are regional traditions influencing modern wedding décor aesthetics?

Regional traditions are the heart of Indian weddings, and they beautifully complement contemporary design. From phoolon ki chadar in North India to banana leaves and brass accents in the South, these elements are being reinterpreted with modern styling, ensuring the wedding still feels rooted while looking global.

What’s the most unique and personalised decor element you’ve incorporated recently?

One of the most unique and meaningful décor concepts I’ve ever created was for a private Ganesh Chaturthi celebration at a home in Mumbai. We designed an installation where Lord Ganesha’s face was formed entirely out of over 8,000 wax figurines — each one representing a human figure, handsculpted and individually painted. It was a tribute to the artisans and craftsmen of India — the people who shape our culture behind the scenes.

From afar, all these tiny humans come together seamlessly to form the divine visage of Ganeshji But when you get closer, you realize that it’s not just about the deity, but the people — the collective effort, the individuality within the unity. It was our way of saying that God resides in every one of us, especially those who create with their hands and hearts.

How do you adapt and reimagine decor for intimate gatherings versus large-scale celebrations?

For intimate weddings, the focus is on layering textures, personalized details, and warmth. It’s about creating spaces that feel intimate yet elevated. For large-scale weddings, I play with scale, grandeur, and symmetry—a design that makes a collective impact while still weaving in personal touches.

What are some realistic ways to make wedding décor eco-friendly without losing its grandeur?

Eco-friendly doesn’t mean compromise. Using locally grown flowers, natural fabrics, reusable structures, and digital design integrations keeps the décor sustainable. When executed thoughtfully, these choices look just as grand—sometimes even more so, because they feel authentic and conscious.

Which trend do you believe will define Indian wedding décor in the next 2–3 years?

The defining trend will be immersive personalization powered by technology and sustainability. Décor will increasingly tell the couple’s story in deeply memorable ways, while also moving towards mindful luxury—celebrations that are indulgent yet responsible.

Wedding Photography TRENDS OF 2025

From leaving behind a corporate desk to documenting over 500 weddings across 15 countries, Abhishek Behani has built Jodi Clickers into one of India’s most sought-after wedding photography and filmmaking teams. Known for cinematic, emotion-driven storytelling that fuses artistry with authenticity, he shares the wedding photography trends and tips shaping 2025.

What new tools or techniques are elevating your wedding projects right now?

While our work will always be about people and emotions, new tools are helping us capture them in ways unimaginable a few years ago. Switching to mirrorless cameras allows us to shoot discreetly—silent shutters, lighter gear, and incredible low-light capability keep moments authentic. AI in postproduction now speeds up refinement without altering our style, giving us more time for creative storytelling. Drone cinematography has evolved from static aerial shots to choreographed cinematic fly-throughs. We’re also loving motion blur and slow-shutter techniques for the energy and romance they bring to Indian weddings.

What are the biggest wedding photography trends you’re seeing in 2025?

Eco-friendly doesn’t mean compromise. Using locally grown flowers, natural fabrics, reusable structures, and digital design integrations keeps the décor sustainable. When executed thoughtfully, these choices look just as grand—sometimes even more so, because they feel authentic and conscious.

Which trend do you believe will define Indian wedding décor in the next 2–3 years?

Couples are leaning towards personal, documentary-style storytelling—capturing glances, laughter, and unscripted moments. Editorial-style portraits with cinematic framing and natural light are trending, creating timeless, magazine-worthy images. Cross-cultural influences are also growing, with intimate guest lists, unique venues, and blends of traditions becoming popular in Indian weddings.

Your advice to brides and grooms for the most photogenic, natural moments?

Forget the camera—focus on each other. Laugh, talk, share inside jokes. Allow breathing room in your schedule so portraits don’t feel rushed. A calm couple photographs better than one racing the clock. And most importantly, trust your photographer to watch the light, angles, and timing.

Is there a photo trend you wish more couples embraced?

Natural light is magic—sunset pheras, open-air mehendis, and golden hour portraits elevate mood and colour. We also love ‘unplugged ceremonies’ where guests are fully present, no phones in hand. The emotion is richer, and the images more powerful.

Three expert tips for the perfect wedding images?

1. Be Present, Not Perfect – The best moments are unposed.

2. Build Breathing Space – Calm couples look their best.

3. Trust the Process – Let your photographer do the seeing.

10 Timeless Bridal Poses

Manvi Gandotra — Founder of 1Plus1 Studio — isn’t just a wedding photographer; she’s a storyteller weaving narratives of love, family, and tradition through her lens. With over a decade of experience, 300+ weddings across 12+ countries and 60 cities, Manvi shares 10 timeless poses, each capturing elegance, intimacy, and grace that never go out of style:

Close-Up

The beauty of a close-up lies in its intimacy. It captures the bride’s expression, makeup, and emotions in exquisite detail, freezing a fleeting moment that says more than words ever could.

Walking Shot

A natural, flowing pose that brings movement and life into the frame. The gentle sway of the dress and the bride’s effortless grace make it a classic in every era.

Veil Shot

The veil becomes more than an accessory — it’s a frame within the frame. Soft, romantic, and ethereal, veil shots have a way of turning portraits into poetry.

Side Profile with Veil

The side profile captures elegance and calm, highlighting the lines of the face and the delicate fall of the veil. A pose that feels both regal and serene.

Silhouette

Minimal and dramatic, a silhouette focuses on form and mood. Whether against a glowing sunset or a softly lit window, it’s a timeless nod to artistic storytelling.

Sitting on a Chair

A composed, editorial-inspired moment that lets the bride rest while still exuding grace. Perfect for highlighting the gown’s details from a relaxed perspective.

Twirling

A joyful, playful movement that brings out genuine smiles and the dress’s full beauty. Twirl shots have an energy that will never fade with time.

Front Pose (Editorial)

A confident, straight-on portrait that blends bridal charm with high-fashion sensibilities. Strong yet graceful, it’s perfect for those “iconic” frames.

Over-the-Shoulder Look

Elegant and flirtatious, this pose draws the viewer in with a subtle glance. It’s a reminder that beauty often lies in what’s half-seen.

Back Shot

The reverse angle tells its own story — the train of the gown, the fall of the veil, and the anticipation in the bride’s posture.

Wedding Food Trends 2025

Luxury weddings are no longer just about the grandeur — they are also about the food experience.

Sanjay Vazirani, founder of Foodlink, gives us a lowdown on the latest food trends redefining Indian weddings.

What are the biggest wedding food trends you’re seeing for 2025?

Weddings in 2025 are all about minimal elegance and pastel-inspired setups, with menus that balance global influences and progressive Indian cuisine. Couples are seeking innovation with comfort—familiar dishes presented with a fresh twist—alongside interactive experiences like live stations and sustainable, seasonal menus.

Are couples leaning more towards traditional Indian menus or global fusion cuisine?

Couples aren’t choosing between traditional Indian and global fusion— they’re blending both. Classics anchor the rituals, while progressive Indian and global flavours elevate cocktail nights and receptions, creating menus that feel both rooted and modern.

What are the top three “wow factor” food presentations or setups couples are asking for?

One big wow factor we created was a dessert landscape, where chefs painted edible patterns on a flex-printed canvas before placing the desserts. Another unique idea has been edible jewellery that guests could wear and eat. Couples love these because they turn food into both art and experience.

How are sustainability and locally sourced ingredients influencing wedding menus this year?

Couples today are embracing seasonal, locally sourced ingredients—not only for freshness but also to support farmers, reduce waste, and complement ecofriendly packaging and serving ware. It’s a mindful shift that makes weddings feel both luxurious and responsible.

Are plated dinners making a comeback, or is live, interactive food still the star? What’s trending in wedding desserts?

Plated dinners are usually reserved for VIP sections, but live and interactive counters remain the highlight at weddings. Guests love the energy and engagement. Dessert trends lean on creativity—traditional mithai for rituals, modern or fusion desserts for cocktails, and playful twists like jalebi churros or rasgulla with coffee syrup. Healthier jaggery-based and fruit-based options are also gaining popularity.

What’s the most memorable food trend you’ve executed recently? (Chef Input)

One of the most memorable trends we executed was ‘fire-to-plate’ dining— everything cooked in front of the guests and served instantly. From mini matka biryanis straight off the sigdi to flying buffets with à la carte-style service, it made intimate gatherings unforgettable.

How are caterers making food an interactive experience for guests?

Creating an interactive dining experience is like directing a play— aromas, sizzling sounds, textures, visuals, and flavours all come together. Not every dish needs to engage all five senses, but the overall journey should—and that’s what makes weddings memorable.

What are the common mistakes couples make while planning their wedding menu?

The biggest mistake? Not keeping guests in mind. We often conduct guest profiling to ensure the menu connects with everyone. Another mistake is overloading the menu in a single event. We recommend varying the menu across functions and always including a local comfort food counter.

What’s your tip for making late-night snacks memorable at weddings?

Late-night snacks should feel fun and comforting—like Maggi stalls, pizzas, rolls, kebabs, or even egg bhurji counters. Some couples also add khichdi for homely comfort or indulgent treats like warm brownies and kulfi

How are global flavours influencing Indian wedding menus this year?

Global flavours are now woven seamlessly into Indian menus. Think sushi bars next to chaat counters, Middle Eastern grills alongside kebabs, or khandvi noodles and dhokla sushi. Couples want their food to reflect their travels and personalities, making menus both familiar and adventurous.

What are some creative presentation ideas you’re using to make food Instagram-worthy?

One unforgettable idea was a choreographed food parade, like a culinary fashion show. From caviar bars and exotic grazing tables to live bread ovens, every element adds theatre. Dishes like Palak Chaat Pops or jalebi churros blend creativity with comfort, making them highly shareable online.

Are live cooking stations still popular, and how are they evolving in 2025?

Live stations remain a hit but are becoming more curated—sushi bars, artisanal coffee counters, and personalized plating experiences. It’s as much about theatre as taste.

Are live cooking stations still popular, and how are they evolving in 2025?

Live stations remain a hit but are becoming more curated—sushi bars, artisanal coffee counters, and personalized plating experiences. It’s as much about theatre as taste.

How are you catering to diverse dietary preferences while keeping the menu exciting?

We love the challenge of making vegan, gluten-free, Jain, or health-conscious dishes just as exciting as the main menu. Every guest deserves a memorable, flavourful experience.

Are smaller, curated menus replacing lavish spreads, or is “more is more” still in?

Lavish spreads are still in demand. At big fat Indian weddings, abundance is expected—especially when alcohol isn’t served. A grand spread with fusion dishes remains the centrepiece.

What’s one innovative food-and-drink pairing trend you think will define 2025 weddings?

Cross-cultural pairings are defining 2025— tequila with spicy kebabs, craft beer with global street food, or wine-and-cheese reimagined with interactive flair. Couples love how these unexpected pairings add surprise and playfulness to the dining experience.

SHAHNAZ HUSAIN’S

TIMELESS BEAUTY WISDOM FOR BRIDES & GROOMS

With decades of experience as India’s beauty and wellness pioneer, Shahnaz Husain has transformed countless brides and grooms into their most radiant selves. Her integrated approach blends Ayurveda, herbal care, and time-tested rituals to ensure you look and feel your best on your big day. Here, she shares her essential tips.

What is the ideal pre-bridal skincare routine you recommend for glowing skin?

You must begin with proper skincare first; it should include CTMPN–Cleansing, toning, moisturizing, protection, and nourishment. These are the crucial skincare steps that you should always remember.

Start by cleansing your face with a mild, soap-free cleanser, then refresh your skin with a rose essence toner, suitable for all skin types. Apply a light moisturizer to lock in hydration and never skip daily SPF to shield your skin from UV damage. At night, pamper your skin with a hydrating and repairing serum to restore its natural balance.

For the best results, choose gentle herbal products. With consistent care, this routine will leave your skin naturally radiant, giving you that soft, bridal-like glow.

Shahnaz Husain, founder Shahnaz Husain Group

How early should a bride begin her skincare preparations before the wedding?

It all depends on what procedure you are opting for. If you are looking for skin corrective procedures addressing concerns like dark spots or uneven skin tone, then it takes six months to show results. If you are opting for glowing skin procedures, then three months is ample time. Additionally, it takes time to understand and get accustomed to various procedures, and for your skin to react or accept them. To be on the safer side, six months at least. For those in a hurry, I recommend nothing less than 3 months, and they should indulge in an instant glow facial 2 weeks in advance, avoiding getting any such procedure a couple of days before your big day.

What are the most common skincare mistakes brides should avoid in the lead-up to their big day?

The biggest mistake brides make is skipping a proper skincare routine, which leads to dryness and dullness. Ignoring allergies or product sensitivities is another — makeup can’t hide unhealthy skin.

Avoid skipping meals or staying dehydrated to look lean; it weakens your body and robs your skin of its natural glow. Stick to a light, balanced diet, stay hydrated, and manage stress.

Skip last-minute quick fixes from salons, as your skin needs time to adjust. Don’t neglect night skincare and always patch-test your wedding makeup to avoid breakouts or irritation.

Which Ayurvedic ingredients do you suggest for naturally radiant bridal skin?

The most naturally occurring ingredient is fuller’s earth or Multani mitti mixed with rose water that brings instant glow, tightens the skin, and reduces excessive oil.

Using soaked saffron strands in coconut oil or almond oil used as facial oil to nourish the skin imparts a golden glow. Sandalwood powder, when mixed with a pinch of turmeric, helps in inducing calmness, and the skin appears radiantly beautiful. For those who cannot apply any of these ingredients, they can opt for raw aloe vera gel extracted from the plant and directly apply it on the skin, leave it on for 15 minutes, and rinse it off.

How can brides treat oily or acne-prone skin using herbal or natural remedies?

For acne-prone skin, which is naturally sensitive, always use products and remedies in moderation. One effective option is tea tree oil — mix 3 drops with a teaspoon of jojoba or coconut oil and apply it only to the affected areas with a cotton swab. Leave it overnight for the best results.

Another natural remedy is apple cider vinegar (ACV). Dilute one part ACV with three parts water, apply it with a cotton pad, leave it on for 5 minutes, and then rinse off with water.

What is your advice for brides dealing with pigmentation or uneven skin tone?

Pigmentation can be reduced with simple home remedies using kitchen ingredients. Cucumber brightens the skin and can be applied as slices or juice. Tomato, rich in lycopene, helps lighten skin and fade pigmentation. Potato slices are also effective, as their natural enzymes help brighten discoloured areas. Leave any of these remedies on for 15 minutes, then rinse with water.

Are there any specific face masks or packs you recommend for a bridal glow?

I recommend using three types of face masks to hydrate, brighten, and nourish your skin. Mix ½ cup of plain yogurt with a few drops of lemon juice, apply it for 10 minutes, then rinse with cool water for an instant brightening effect.

Next, blend ½ cucumber with 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel, apply the mix for 15 minutes, and rinse with water for deep nourishment and a radiant glow.

Finally, crush or blend 5–6 fresh strawberries with 1 teaspoon of honey, apply for 20 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water followed by cold water for refreshed, hydrated, glowing skin.

How important is diet and hydration in achieving healthy, glowing skin before the wedding?

The biggest mistake I often see brides make is restricting food and fluids to look slimmer. This only causes dehydration, nutrient loss, and even fainting. I recommend eating small, balanced meals, including a bowl of fresh salads, fruit juices, plenty of water, and light foods that keep you full while maintaining a lean look.

Avoid oily, processed, and sugary foods before the wedding. Nourishing your body from the inside out makes your skin naturally radiant and flawless. Include

papaya for digestion, leafy greens, watermelon, and cucumber for hydration and glow.

Finally, what quick, natural remedies do you suggest for last-minute skin emergencies?

I have observed that wedding stress, lack of sleep, and excessive dieting often lead to breakouts, under-eye puffiness, and dehydrated or dry skin in brides-to-be.

For breakouts, I recommend mixing ½ teaspoon sandalwood powder, a pinch of turmeric, and a few drops of rose water. Apply it to the affected area for 15 minutes, then rinse. This calms inflammation and makes the skin smoother.

For under-eye puffiness, I recommend placing refrigerated cucumber slices on your eyes for 15 minutes, then rinsing with cold water to instantly refresh the area.

For dry or dehydrated skin, I recommend mixing 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel with 2 tablespoons milk cream, leaving it on for 30 minutes, and rinsing with lukewarm water for deep, lasting hydration.

Wedding Wellness with Luke Coutinho: Starting the Journey

Luke Coutinho, India’s leading Integrative Lifestyle Expert, believes that true wedding prep goes far beyond fitting into an outfit or chasing picture-perfect looks. For him, it’s about building strength, balance, and inner calm that lasts well beyond the wedding day. Here, he shares his holistic wellness guide for brides and grooms stepping into this new chapter.

From a holistic health perspective, how early should brides and grooms start preparing their bodies for the wedding?

I’ve always believed that wedding prep should start with the inside. If we’re talking about sustainable energy, balanced hormones, strong immunity, or calm emotional states—it’s not a 15-day crash course. It’s a rhythm you build. Ideally, I encourage couples to begin six to 12 months in advance. That gives us space to work on the deeper layers—like gut repair, sleep cycles, metabolic health, and emotional resilience. Even three months can make a real difference if done right. But more than timelines, I believe in intention. Whether you start 12 months or six weeks before, ask yourself: Am I just trying to look good for a day, or do I want to feel well through all the days that follow?

How can couples set wellness goals that go beyond just looking good in wedding photos?

It’s easy to get caught up in aesthetics—wanting to fit into a certain outfit or chase a number on the scale. But real wellness is about how you feel—your energy, your digestion, your mood, your ability to stay calm amidst the chaos. I always tell couples: Don’t make the goal about shrinking your body. Make it about strengthening your health, supporting your hormones, and building the emotional resilience to actually enjoy your wedding. When you feel good inside, it shows up outside—on your skin, in your eyes, and in the way you carry yourself.

Luke Coutinho, Integrative & Lifestyle Expert

What are your top nutrition tips for a healthy glow and sustained energy during the wedding season?

• Start your day with soaked nuts, seeds, or ghee water for sustained energy.

• Include leafy greens, local fruits, and seasonal veggies—your skin will thank you.

• Add healthy fats like cold-pressed coconut oil, ghee, and nuts to keep your glow alive.

• Prioritize warm, well-cooked meals over raw salads, especially at night.

• Stay hydrated—but not just with plain water. Add lemon, mint, or soaked fennel seeds to support digestion. And one more—don’t fear rice. A wellprepared rice dish with dal or vegetables can be incredibly grounding during emotionally charged days.

Many couples face erratic schedules during wedding planning—how can they maintain balanced meals in such times?

I understand how hectic it gets. But balance isn’t about perfection—it’s about intention. Carry small emergency snacks like dates, chikki, or soaked nuts and seeds in your bag. If you can’t sit for all meals, at least make one meal a sacred ritual—without your phone or planning spreadsheets. Avoid skipping meals and bingeing later. That’s what throws energy and mood off balance. Keep it simple—khichdi, soups, eggs, or lightly spiced vegetables can be easier on digestion when stress is high. And don’t underestimate the power of slow chewing and eating mindfully. Even in chaotic moments, the way you eat matters.

Could you share some superfoods or natural remedies that help with skin, hair, and immunity?

For skin: soaked almonds, amla, turmeric with pepper, and ghee support natural radiance. For hair: curry leaves, soaked fenugreek seeds, and iron-rich foods like beetroot or black raisins.

For immunity: tulsi, ginger, and warm kadhas rotated through the week.

A simple daily practice: drink warm water with lemon and a pinch of Celtic sea salt—helps with hydration, digestion, and mineral balance. Don’t do this on an empty stomach or first thing in the morning. Hydrate with a glass of plain water first.

What kind of exercise routine works best for couples with limited time but big health goals There’s no magic workout. What matters is consistency and what suits your body. A 30-minute walk together every day is underrated medicine. Add bodyweight movements like squats, planks, or lunges if you have time. If your sleep is off or your energy is low, focus on yoga, stretching, or breathing practices instead of pushing hard at the gym. It’s not about burning out before the big day. It’s about feeling strong, light, and grounded in your body. Movement should energize you—not deplete you.

Stress often takes a toll on the body—what mind-body practices can help couples stay calm and centred?

In our experience, nervous system regulation is at the heart of all healing. A few practices I recommend: Breathwork: Box breathing (4-4-4-4) or 4-7-8 breathing daily, especially before bed. Grounding: Walking barefoot on grass or sand calms the vagus nerve. Journaling: A few minutes of gratitude or reflection each day can shift your perspective. Sleep: Honour it like a non-negotiable appointment. This is when your body restores itself.

More than doing more, this phase is about doing what helps you stay connected to your inner calm.

What are the most common mistakes couples make in their health and wellness journey before the wedding? Why do you discourage crash diets, and what’s a safe, sustainable alternative?

The biggest mistake is rushing the process. Crash diets, over-exercising, skipping meals, or trying quick-fix cleanses may give short-term results— but they often leave you depleted, bloated, anxious, and imbalanced. I’ve seen brides and grooms lose weight but also lose their glow, libido, and immunity in the process. Instead, focus on eating balanced meals consistently, sleeping well, managing stress through daily grounding rituals, and supporting gut health with local, seasonal foods. Getting enough movement. Managing your emotions and giving yourself an outlet to regulate. Strengthening your spiritual connection—pray, meditate, and practice gratitude or mindfulness.

Start small—but stay consistent. The results will be deeper and longer-lasting than any “transformation plan” out there.

Finally, do you have a few easy, lifelong wellness habits every couple should adopt together?

Yes—and they’re not complicated. Eat at least one meal a day together, without screens. Get some movement — take a walk together after dinner or play a sport. Sleep and wake up at consistent times. Don’t skip emotional hygiene—talk, share, listen, and support each other. Practice silence together— even just a few minutes in the morning. Check in with each other’s physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health every day—it only takes 10 minutes. Laugh and have fun together. Shared humour is the best medicine. Your relationship is your safe space. When you care for your health as a team, you don’t just prepare for your wedding—you prepare for life.

Dr. Rashmi Shetty’s Bridal Skin Secrets

Internationally acclaimed celebrity dermatologist Dr. Rashmi Shetty has spent over two decades perfecting the art of natural, radiant beauty. Renowned for her pioneering work with injectables, laser technologies, and holistic skin health, she blends science with artistry to create timeless bridal looks. For wedding-bound brides and grooms, she shares her expert tips to achieve that coveted glow—inside and out.

When should a bride or groom start prewedding skin treatments for the best results?

Ideally, it’s best to start six months before if you have a skin issue. If you don’t have any major skin concerns and only want to prep for better hydration, glow, and plump, happy skin, then starting a month before the wedding can also work. It really depends on your starting point—what condition your skin is in at the beginning. For those with issues, you’ll need corrective products (like acne creams or pigmentation treatments) that are usually applied at night. Nighttime is best for skin repair since you get 10–12 hours of rest without external irritation. Nourishing creams, moisturizers, and barrier creams are also best used at night.

During the day, your focus should be on protection using moisturizers that guard against wind, pollution, and, of course, a good sunscreen

What is the ideal skincare routine in the final month before the wedding?

The final month is definitely not the time to experiment with new active ingredients you’ve never tried before. Avoid new treatments that may irritate your skin.

Instead, this is the time to add supplements that help from within. Ideally, supplements should begin three months before the wedding, but even one month can make a difference.

Recommended supplements include:

• Raw Bright: a strong antioxidant to fight oxidative stress (which increases due to wedding planning stress, shopping, and pre-wedding parties).

• Raw Defense: an anti-inflammatory to calm the system.

• Raw Essential: a multivitamin and mineral supplement to fill nutritional gaps.

These, taken regularly, can improve your internal health and bring out a natural glow.

What are the newest non-invasive skin treatments for a wedding glow?

Skincare isn’t about “fashion,” so it’s important to choose treatments that are scientifically sound and have stood the test of time. At our clinic, the three most popular and effective treatments are:

1. The right peel (depending on skin type)

2. Brightening lasers

3. Customized facials

For brides with dull, dehydrated, or more mature skin, injectables can be helpful. These don’t alter your face but work like nutrients placed under the skin. PDRN (salmon sperm extract) is a game-changer—it hydrates, repairs, and reduces pigmentation. However, availability and quality in India are limited, so it’s crucial to check the brand, source, and concentration with your doctor.

If PDRN isn’t suitable, hyaluronic acid injectables (like Skin Boosters, Skin Veve, or Profilo) are excellent alternatives, giving hydration, plumpness, and glow. The doctor will select the best option based on your skin needs.

Any quick fixes for under-eye dark circles?

The right treatment depends on the cause:

• If there’s a hollow or trench, fillers or PDRN work very well.

• Non-injectable options include mild eye peels or Q-switch lasers for surface-level brightness. Both can provide quick visible results.

Lifestyle is Key

No matter the treatments, lifestyle plays the biggest role in glowing skin. Brides and grooms should:

• Avoid alcohol and smoking

• Maintain regular sleep patterns

• Eat clean, gut-friendly food

• Keep the scalp clean (as scalp health impacts facial skin too)

These basics, combined with professional treatments, ensure the best results for your wedding day.

HOTTEST WEDDING MUSIC TRENDS

What’s the hottest music trend you’re seeing at weddings?

Right now, it’s all about fusion – couples blend Bollywood with Afro beats. Guests want that big-festival energy but with familiar tunes everyone can sing along to.

How are couples customising their Sangeet playlists?

Couples are getting very hands-on. They curate a list of “must-play” songs for family entries, couple performances, and after-party vibes. Many even share Spotify playlists with me beforehand, which I then remix and structure into a seamless flow.

Are live mashups or remixes more in demand?

Mashups are winning. Couples love it when I surprise the crowd by fusing a classic Bollywood track with an international drop. It feels personal and unique – like their wedding has its own soundtrack.

Do you see more Bollywood, techno, or a fusion of both?

Definitely a fusion of both. Bollywood creates nostalgia and connection, while techno adds the high-energy kick. Together, it’s unbeatable.

What song never fails to get the dance floor packed at a Sangeet?

Gallan Goodiyan still works like magic – it gets every generation on the floor instantly.

What’s your go-to track to kick off a party?

I usually start with something groovy but powerful – like a reworked version of London Thumakda or mundian tu bachke – it instantly sets the tone for a big night ahead.

How do you balance traditional requests with trending beats?

I never ignore traditional requests – instead, I remix them live. For example, turning a folk wedding track into a house/afro house version ensures everyone feels included while keeping the vibe modern.

What’s the most unusual request you’ve received at a wedding?

Once, a couple asked me to mix their proposal voice recording into the track during their first dance. It was emotional, unexpected, and unforgettable.

How do you keep the energy alive till the very end?

It’s about reading the crowd. I build waves –high peaks with bangers, then drop into singalong classics to let people catch their breath, then take them higher again. No one wants a flat set; it’s all about storytelling through music.

What wedding music trend do you think will dominate next year?

I see a rise in international crossovers – more house music, Afro House, techno, and even influences blending with Bollywood. Weddings are becoming global stages, and music reflects that

Any advice for couples planning their Sangeet playlist?

Focus on moments, not just songs. Think about what track you want for your entry, your family’s performance, your couple dance, and the after-party. Share your favourites with your DJ but also trust them to read the crowd – that’s where the magic happens.

Pawfectly Dressed:

Wedding Fashion for Your Four-Legged Guests

Why should humans have all the fun at weddings? From bowtie collars to couture gowns, pet wedding fashion has taken a glamorous turn in 2025—and your furry friend is now ready to walk down the aisle (or lawn) in style. Whether they’re the ring bearer, flower pup, or simply the cutest guest, dogs are stealing the show in outfits made just for them.

The Rise of Canine Couture

Weddings today are more than a union of two people—they’re a celebration of families, pets included. Couples are involving their dogs in ceremonies, photoshoots, and even entrances. Naturally, this means dressing them in weddingappropriate outfits that balance charm, comfort, and personality.

Tailored for the Occasion

The options are endless. Think breathable tuxedo harnesses for formal receptions, breezy cotton bandanas for outdoor vows, pastel bow-ties and floral collars that match the décor, and even customised sherwanis or lehengas for cultural celebrations. These outfits are no longer just cute— they’re designed with thoughtful details like hidden harness loops, detachable accessories, and soft linings to keep pets happy through long festivities.

When Fashion Meets Fun

Couples are using pet outfits as a way to tie their furry friend into the wedding theme. Imagine a dog in a hand-embroidered lehenga scattering petals, or a miniature capelet for the ring bearer that mirrors the groom’s sherwani. The best ensembles not only match the aesthetic but also let the dog’s personality shine—be it regal, playful, or sweetly understated.

The Final Bow (Tie)

Pet fashion is no longer an afterthought—it’s an integral part of the modern wedding. The right outfit can make your dog look pictureperfect while staying comfortable enough to wag, walk, and enjoy the celebration. After all, the bestdressed guest is always the one wearing a smile…and a tail that won’t stop wagging.

Tips for Dressing Your Dog for a Wedding

• Comfort First: Lightweight, non-restrictive fabrics prevent overheating.

• Test Run: Let them wear the outfit before the big day to get used to it.

• Weather Wise: Breathable cottons for heat, soft insulation for cold.

• Safety Matters: Avoid loose embellishments or choking hazards.

• Less Can Be More: Sometimes a floral collar or oversized bow is all it takes.

Bengaluru’s newest premium cocktail bar, CAHOOTS, is making rainy evenings irresistible with a curated monsoon menu served in a chic setting complete with a hidden speakeasy. Crafted by Asia’s celebrated mixologist Yangdup Lama, the cocktails are as inventive as they are comforting— think Masala Mirage, a vodka-jamungondhoraj creation with chat masala warmth, or the gin-based Brigade Signal with jackfruit puree for a tropical lift. The bites are equally tempting-crisp golden Masala Vada, batter-fried Motte Pakoda with spiced chickpea coating, and Crispy Silver Fish served with Thousand Island dressing.

Each dish and drink feels designed for monsoon indulgence, balancing spice, tang, and crunch against the backdrop of Bengaluru’s downpour. Whether you’re seeking a cozy catch-up or an intimate night out, CAHOOTS offers a rainy-day escape where inventive mixology meets comfort food in style.
