Shopping News Photo by Donald Reese The Lititz Springs Park Committee is holding a House Decorating Contest as part of this year’s 4th of July activities. The Park Committee will be decorating the front of the park only, starting on Friday, June 26 for daytime and evening colorful driveby enjoyment. To go along with this while you have your family loaded in the car, they are having a House Decorating Contest to show off the true spirit of Lititz, which you can enjoy from the safety of your car. All displays will have an assigned number visible for judging that will be done by public online voting. The winners, along with pictures, will be announced on Saturday, July 4 during the Queen of Candles pageant on Blue Ridge channel 11. For further information about the contest, call 717 6250023. Celebrate America and the 125th year of Akron by decorating your house in an American theme! Don’t forget your sidewalk with chalk. If you need help with your sidewalks ask your local neighborhood children. Judging will be held on Friday, July 3. Register your house into the contest at dwitmer@ akronpa.com by midnight
on Wednesday, July 1. To participate, you must be an Akron resident. Only what can be seen from the street side of the house will qualify. The winner will be announced on Saturday, July 4 on the borough Facebook page. Three categories will be judged: 1. Best sidewalk art. 2. Best America Celebration decorations. 3. Best Akron
125th Birthday Celebration decorations. There will also be a Decorate the Akron Rail Trail sidewalk chalk celebration. Come out and help Akron celebrate the Fourth of July by decorating the Rail Trail with sidewalk chalk. Please be observant of trail users when decorating, and please use sidewalk
