Continuing to make a difference to library services, the Friends of the Adamstown Area Library presented their annual contribution of $25,000 to Library Director Carolyn
Reiste. Even in uncertain times such as these, the Friends can be counted on to do all it can to support the library. Holding successful library fundraisers throughout the
year is what the Friends are all about. “This is the Friends 20th year for our annual donation of $25,000, and we feel fortunate we are able to continue our obligation to

Shopping News Photo by Donald Reese This year’s Toys For Tots fundraiser, sponsored by Lancaster County Marine Corps League Chapter 294, exemplifies the ideals of helping others and making a difference. Eric Bair, who is the owner of the Sports Barber, is the local marine representative in the annual toy drive. Eric has made it his goal to collect new bikes instead of toys for the last few years and this year, thanks to his efforts, the community and businesses, a total of 301 brand new bikes were collected. Just before Christmas, two Toys For Tots tractor trailers pulled into downtown Ephrata to receive the bikes. Shown are a small portion of the bikes as they line the sidewalk in preparation to be picked up. Anyone who witnessed the collection of new bikes on the sidewalk were left utterly speechless at what a community that strives to make a difference can accomplish.
