IEP meetings take place at the beginning of each Semester, which your child’s therapists are encouraged to attend, so that we can work towards shared goals. Students will also be issued with progress reports and you can speak to their mainstream teachers at our parent/teacher interviews
You can view the programs that your child is working across the curriculum through SEQTA This platform also provides daily notices of events happening in the College and any pastoral notes that teachers record about your child.
The St Joseph’s Centre lies at the heart of Seton College in terms of our College RISE values and also the physical location There are a range of options for students with regards to the classes that they can attend Depending on student needs, levels available are General classes, Foundation classes or Education Support classes
The courses that are provided through the SJC are ASDAN, ACC Inclusive Carnivals, Music Rocks, Social Skills, creating Liturgies, Work Based Learning and a variety of curricular excursions to provide hands on, contextualised learning experiences Opportunities to participate in all mainstream activities are also available
In the first week of school, parents can walk students to their locker to help them settle in and find their way
From Week 2 onward, we begin to promote independence and expect that students can make their own way or support can be provided by our Teaching Assistants Drop off and pick up points can be agreed with Teaching Assistants The choices are the main car park, Marchant Road or Letchford Road and these options mean the benefit of accessible ramps
Students can be picked up at 3 15pm, five minutes before the bell rings to allow for them to pack up and get to the meeting point before other students filter into the hallways
If parents come onto College grounds during
school hours, it is a health and safety requirement that they sign in at reception and have an appointment booked with the person they need to speak with
If your child is ill, they must remain at home for the wellbeing of all students and staff Please inform the St Joseph's Centre and student reception of any absence before 8 30am on 9331 9650 or email setonabsences@cewa edu au If your child becomes ill while at the College, the nurse will call you to pick up your child and it is expected that this will be done in a timely manner
Students are welcome to spend break times with mainstream students or remain at the St Joseph’s Centre where we have garden games, Basketball, Ping Pong and much more to enjoy
