To finish Term 2, our Year 7s tackled an epic week-long STEAM mission: rescuing trapped beings on a distant planet! From decoding messages to building and racing escape vehicle prototypes, students showed off impressive teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking.

TEAM SETON WELCOME FROM LAUREN & MATT

I was quite nervous starting high school, moving from being the oldest in primary school to suddenly being the youngest all over again was quite a change But as soon as I arrived at Seton it didn’t take long for me to feel at home All the staff were so incredibly patient, welcoming and supportive High school is exciting, but it can also be a lot to take in The teachers and older students made the transition so smooth they helped me feel seen, guided me around and made settling in so much easier I’ve formed so many close bonds and genuine lifelong friendships at Seton, through them I have learned a lot about others and myself

One of my favourite things about Seton, is the huge range of opportunities, there really is something for everyone, and that is something Year 7 students can really look forward to! I’ve loved getting involved in everything from Inter-House drama and the school musical to carnivals, Inter-School events and leadership programs These experiences help students grow, develop their talents and discover their passions There are also amazing camps and excursions and of course, Seton Day is a highlight, where we celebrate our Patron with food, fun and festivities

I’m sure you’ll love Seton – it’s a place where you’ll grow, try new things, and make amazing memories and friendships you’ll never forget

Lauren | Seton Catholic College Head Girl 2025

When I first started in Year 7, I wasn’t really sure what to expect At first, I was overwhelmed, but it didn’t take long to feel like I belonged at Seton The teachers are so welcoming, and the older students made a real effort to help us feel comfortable and find our way around Since then, our year group has grown so close, and that’s one of the things that I’ll miss most about Seton I am very grateful to have made so many close friends, and the experiences I’ve had will stay with me forever

What I’ve always loved about Seton is the many opportunities to get involved In Year 7 I remember being so excited to try everything Whether it’s school events, sports, or camps, there’s always something going on Year 9 camp was definitely a highlight We all had a fantastic time and it brought heaps of laughs and memories Inter-School sport has also been a big part of my high school experience Doing athletics, playing footy, cricket, basketball or soccer with your mates, and representing Seton is a great feeling, and it not only helped unite just our year group, but also enabled us to build stronger connections with others across different year groups Seton has given me so many opportunities to grow over the years and for that I am very thankful

HOUSES

At the pre:entry Welcome Day in Term 4 this year you will arrive in your current school sport uniform, but go home in your House Shirt It is the start of a very important transition into Seton and your first step into the College House System

There are six Houses at Seton and you will be in one of them for the entire time you are at the College Your House will be your rock! It is a lot of fun, you will play sport for your House, earn points for your House, become passionately supportive of your House, but perhaps most importantly it will also become your support network at school

Just like families range in ages, so do our House Groups Every morning you will meet with your Pastoral Care Group which means you will have older students to look after you and to look up to, and in turn as you get older you will mentor the younger students in your Pastoral Care Group Your Pastoral Care teacher will be with you for the duration of your time at Seton as well so by the time you finish school they will know you very well

SETON'S SEASON OF THE ARTS IS OPEN!

If Arts is your thing, then you will be sure to find your place at Seton Of course, if you’ve never done it before, have a go at ityou might just surprise yourself as you don’t know what you don’t know!

Our 'Season of the Arts' has been launched and as usual it promises to be a fantastic showcase of what the students can achieve in the Arts at Seton Students can be involved in everything from Dance troupes to Music concerts, to Drama productions, to the Annual Art Exhibition (where students exhibit woodwork, painting, sculpture, textiles and photography)

Our theatre, which has industry-standard lighting and sound technology, comes alive with changing sets and productions which are always enjoyed by sold-out audiences We have a mix of students who are involved in the Arts at Seton On one hand, there are those who enjoy it because it adds a dimension to their studies and on the other hand, there are those who are passionate and choose to focus on developing it as a career path Both of these groups of students are encouraged to get the most out of the Arts at Seton

We are very proud of our Arts Programs and have had many students who have pursued Arts after they have finished school Over the years we have had an impressive number of students accepted into the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts WAAPA is highly competitive, and many applicants have extensive experience or additional training beyond high school Being accepted directly from high school is a significant achievement and reflects exceptional talent and dedication In the realm of Visual Arts over the past 10 years our Visual Arts students have had 12 works exhibited in the prestigious Year 12 Pulse Perspectives Exhibition at the Art Gallery of Western Australia The same exhibition we saw two of our students awarded the top two prizes, The Packing Room Prize and the People Choice Award, in 2022 This exhibition showcases the best works from Year 12 Visual Arts students across the state, highlighting exceptional creativity, skill, and artistic vision
