A MESSAGE FROM OUR HEAD BOY & HEAD GIRL

Welcome to Team Seton,

Hello, I'm Seton Catholic College's Head Boy, Alex In Year 7 I was terrified at first, since it was the first time for me that I would be in a different school Leaving primary school, I didn’t know what to expect It didn't me take long to realise there was nothing to be scared about It was simple to settle in because of how inviting Seton is and how well they involve students with each other

The number of events and activities that Seton students can look forward to is one of the most exciting parts of high school I really enjoyed the excitement of competing against other schools in the SASJ sports competitions, in sports I had chosen to play I really also loved the several camps offered throughout my time in high school; they were wonderful chances for adventure and to build friendships with other students

Hi, I'm Ella, the Head Girl of Seton Catholic College For me moving from another school in Year 8 was challenging since many of my peers had already formed those important

bonds in Year 7 However, Seton made it incredibly easy for me to integrate within my cohort, and I found many friendships that I still share today

You have so many exciting opportunities throughout highschool from retreats to camps (particularly Year 9 camp!) One event that everyone looks forward to every year is Seton Day It’s when the school celebrates our Patron Saint St Elizabeth Seton with stalls and food It’s always so much fun and something I’ll miss after leaving the College

Engaging in everything Seton has to offer is our best advice for Year 7 students Joining in a variety of groups, events, and activities will add even more special memories to your high school years Participating in Seton Day celebrations, attending camps, or joining a sports team are just a few of the options that let you make new friends, develop new skills, and make lifelong memories Being involved in extracurricular activities not only makes your time in school more enjoyable, but it also creates bonds and reveals interests you may not have known you had

HOUSES

At the Pre-entry Welcome Day in Term 4 this year you will arrive in your current school sport uniform, but go home in your House Shirt It is the start of a very important transition into Seton and your first step into the College House System

There are 6 Houses at Seton and you will be in one of them for the entire time you are at the College Your House will be your rock! It is a lot of fun, you will play sport for your House, earn points for your House, become passionately supportive of your House, but perhaps most importantly it will also become your support network at School

Just like families range in ages, so do our House Groups Every morning you will meet with your Pastoral Care Group which means you will have older students to look after you and to look up to, and in turn as you get older you will mentor the younger students in your Pastoral Care Group Your Pastoral Care teacher will be with you for the duration of your time at Seton as wellso by the time you finish school they will know you very well

SETON'S SEASON OF THE ARTS IS OPEN!

If Arts is your thing, then you will be sure to find your place at Seton Of course, if you’ve never done it before, have a go at ityou might just surprise yourself - as you don’t know what you don’t know!

Our 'Season of the Arts' has been launched and as usual it promises to be a fantastic showcase of what the students can achieve in the Arts at Seton Students can be involved in everything from Dance troupes, to Music concerts, to Drama productions, to the Brother Francis Exhibition (where students exhibit woodwork, painting, sculpture and photography)

Our theatre, which has industry-standard lighting and sound technology, comes alive with changing sets and productions which are always enjoyed by sold-out audiences We have a mix of students who are involved in the Arts at Seton On one hand, there are those who enjoy it because it adds a dimension to their studies and on the other hand, there are those who are passionate and choose to focus on developing it as a career path Both of these groups of students are encouraged to get the most out of the Arts at Seton

We are very proud of our Arts Programs and have had many students who have pursued Arts after they have finished School Since 2018 we have had 11 students accepted into the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts WAAPA is highly competitive, and many applicants have extensive experience or additional training beyond high school Being accepted directly from high school is a significant achievement and reflects exceptional talent and dedication In the realm of Visual Arts over the past 10 years our Visual Arts students have had 12 works exhibited in the prestigious Year 12 Pulse Perspectives Exhibition at the Art Gallery of Western Australia The same exhibition we saw two of our students awarded the top two prizes, The Packing Room Prize and the People Choice Award, in 2022 This exhibition showcases the best works from Year 12 Visual Arts students across the state, highlighting exceptional creativity, skill, and artistic vision
