White Rose Giving Circle Plays a Compassionate Role
When many people come together to
work toward a common purpose, a lot of good can come into the world. For Sentara RMH Medical Center and its patients, the women of the White Rose Giving Circle bring a shared charitable spirit that is literally music to the ears of the local hospital community. The initiatives that benefit from the Giving Circle span all facets of hospital operations, including the purchase of vital equipment, support for nursing scholarships and funding for efforts such as a unique music therapy program. Providing such far-reaching assistance has long been the goal behind this collective of more
than 80 women, who share common traits of faithfulness and compassion. Each woman in the Giving Circle gives at least $500 a year to maintain membership, knowing the benefits of a strength-in-numbers approach. In 2022, the White Rose’s cumulative donation total will surpass $500,000 since its start in 2008. “It is a unique opportunity to provide for the community, as well as build relationships within the community,” says Louise Hostetter, a White Rose member since 2013. “The philanthropic philosophy behind the group is so powerful.”
