OUR CORE PROMISE IS TO ENHANCE THE LIVES OF CHILDREN THROUGH 40 PROGRAMS THAT TOGETHER OFFER HOLISTIC WRAPAROUND SUPPORT OVER A CONTINUUM THAT CROSSES GRADES, SCHOOLS, HOME, SCHOOL, AND COMMUNITY. WE TOUCH THE WHOLE COMMUNITY TO ENSURE OUR CHILDREN WILL BE ABLE TO THRIVE.

Our In-School Program begins with students as young as Second Grade. Each student is matched with an In-School Service Coordinator who provides extensive case management, tracking scholastic achievement, attendance and behavior.

Our After-School Program offers academic support as well as exposure to a variety of classes in the areas of health and wellness, arts and performance, life skills, and leadership development.

Our Parent Involvement Program provides case management, support and networking to address potential barriers to maintaining a healthy family environment and a positive home-school relationship.

We provide culturally specific services for African American survivors of violence, sexual assault, stalking, sex trafficking, and other trauma. Our confidential advocates provide consistent support, build trust, rebuild confidence and home, and empower survivors.

Each summer, we provide five (5) weeks of full-day programming. The program emphasizes academic enrichment, recreational activities, involvement in the arts, exposure to the community, and preparation for post-secondary education and employment.

We manage a full-service neighborhood hubs where students and families access educational support, enrichment and recreational activities through contracts with Multnomah County and the City of Portland.

We believe in continuing to support our students after they graduate high school to help them be successful. We provide support for developing employment and career goals, entering and succeeding in college, as well as financial literacy and basic life skills.

Housing Programs assist individuals and families in accessing and maintaining sustainable housing. We work with those experiencing homelessness to remove barriers to housing stability, facilitate appropriate housing placements, and provide tools for long-term success.

We serve African American families and youth by intentionally providing culturally specific support through holistic housing development and wrap-around services.

We work with children and parents involved with the DHS Child Welfare system to ensure African American families can successfully navigate it. We provide resources so children can remain in their homes or work to reduce barriers so children can return to the care of their parents.

“WE LOOK AHEAD WITH A VISION OF INNOVATION, GROWTH, AND A RENEWED COMMITMENT TO SERVING OUR COMMUNITY.”
- TRENT ALDRIDGE, INCOMING CEO

In the 2023-2024 program year, we launched our Alberta Alive Initiative, with a mission to celebrate and strengthen Portland’s historically Black North/Northeast neighborhoods by providing affordable housing, supportive services, and a shared community for underserved individuals and families. More than just four walls and a roof, Alberta Alive is a community where the history, present, and future of the Black community is ALIVE, and residents can live with the confidence that they belong.
