Congratulations to the newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Laszlo Eger!

The happy couple were married on May 21, 2022 on Jekyll Island with close family and friends in attendance. We wish Laszlo and Anny many years of love and laughter! Morito Scovill Americas is celebrating 220 Years of Manufacturing Excellence! We challenged employees to create a logo commemorating this momentous occasion. Two community judges, Ty Akins, Habersham County commissioner and Sheriff Joey Terrell, along with two MSA employees, Tracey Bolme and Liz Holcomb judged the winner. Out of 14 very creative entries, Richard Sanderson was chosen the winner and received a $220 gift card. Richard’s logo will be used in multiple ways - including social media, printed materials, clothing, etc.

ALL IN THE FAMILYAngela Savage and husband, David, take pride in caring for the farm that has been in her family for generations. Angela shares fond memories of growing up on a farm that consisted of animals of all kinds including, chickens, cows, goats and even a peacock! But her family didn’t stop at tending to animals, they also harvested multiple crops. In fact, Angela’s grandfather and father would use a mule to plow all their garden plots. Over the years, they have downsized the farm to only chickens and cows. However, Angela’s son and his family have moved back and built a house on a plot of land they call “Daffodil Hill,” which is known for its many daffodils. Her daughter-in-law even allows photographers to use the land for photo shoots. With her son back on the farm, Angela is hopeful they will be able to incorporate more animals and start up a garden again next year. Angela’s eyes light up with pride when she talks about her family farm. The most satisfying part is the growth she has seen throughout the years. However, she is no stranger to the difficult aspects of living on a farm. Through rain, sleet, snow or shine, the animals must be looked after and fed.

Congratulations to Cody Bennett and Polly Savage for being selected as this quarter’s Shoutout winners! Cody was nominated by Polly and chose a $25 Texas Roadhouse gift card. Polly opted for a $25 Dairy Queen gift card. Don’t forget, the perfect way to recognize a co-worker is through the Shoutout program! Simply fill out a form (you must include a reason) and drop it in the box located in both break rooms. You can remain anonymous but must include your name to be eligible for the gift card.

An interesting fact about Zach is that he enjoys drag racing and ATV racing. He got his love of drag racing from his grandfather, so I guess you could say it’s in his blood. “Cody is a good example of a manager. He is always willing to help where needed,” says Polly

NICKEL PLATING LINE

Progress is being made on the construction of the new nickel plating line. When complete, it will have enough capacity to replace both the A and B platers. It comes with a system for cleaning parts, as well as dryers after the plating process is complete. This system will decrease not only water, energy and chemical consumption, but the amount of waste water generated and sent to the treatment plant. Our efficiency will be improved while reducing spoiled work associated with the condition of the current plating lines.
