Come and enjoy a great day at the park! Admission is Free.
You might associate Omega Nu with “Quacky the Duck” and the annual Ducky Derby, and that’s okay. However, behind this highly-anticipated event is a group of women working tirelessly, year-round, to fulfill the organization’s philanthropic mission. The Derby is synonymous with not only creating a fun-filled day, but with giving back to the community. Omega Nu has been a part of the community since 1903, founded by a group of young women at Santa Cruz High School engaged in charitable activities. The Ducky Derby will be celebrating 35 years in 2025. Many of you may also recall our Rummage Sale which was held for 40 years, and before that the Follies in the 1970s. We have been around for a long time!
over $60,000 to local charities and nonprofits. Our giving reflects the diverse needs of the community with contributions to the arts, education, animal welfare, food security, health services, youth, the elderly, and more.
Maybe you know us from our Funds for Fundamentals program which awards money to teachers for classroom materials. Or, maybe you know one of the Omega Nu Scholarship recipients that received a new or renewal scholarship from a total of about $100,000 awarded this past year.
We are also known for the support we have given to our community. Just this past year, we donated
Community support like this is made possible with money raised from the Ducky Derby and from our Omega Nu Endowment. However you have learned about us and this annual tradition, we look forward to seeing you at the 35th Annual Ducky Derby on April 26, 2025 at Harvey West Park.
