There is a beautiful old hymn that talks about the coming of Spring. It is appropriately named the “Hymn of Promise.”
In the bulb, there is a flower
In the seed, an apple tree
In cocoons, a hidden promise
Butterflies will soon be free
In the cold and snow of winter
There’s a spring that waits to be Unrevealed until its season
Something God alone can see
These lyrics remind me so much of our students. They come to our school and community each Fall and grow in so many ways. Come Spring they are blooming and spreading their wings as they grow in faith and knowledge supplied to each by our outstanding faculty and staff, and by their classmates.
From the past will come the future
What it holds, a mystery
Unrevealed until its season
Something God alone can see
It goes without saying God already knows the future of each and every one of our students.
We are allowed to sit back and watch the great things each of them will accomplish not only this Spring but for years and years ahead. Thank you to each and every one of you who support our mission.

Merriam-Webster defines the word ‘thrive’:
1: to grow vigorously: FLOURISH
2: to gain in wealth or possessions: PROSPER
3: to progress toward or realize a goal despite or because of circumstances
This is a great word for this time of year, too. After the extensive dark and cold of Winter - and even though Spring isn’t here for another few weeks - it’s nice to hear words like ‘bloom’, ‘grow’, and ‘flourish’, and then notice the physical results in our surroundings. It’s the earth awakening from its deep sleep.
As educators, we use many of the above words to describe the changes we see in our students.
At San Miguel, we have the opportunity to guide and challenge our students for three years as they make their way through middle school. We see them grow physically in height from year to year. As they overcome shyness or a lack of self-confidence, we often say it’s like watching them ‘bloom’. From one year to the next, as they improve their academic and social skills, we refer to them as flourishing.
We are blessed to have parents who trust us with their precious children during this most unpredictable and emotional time of their lives. We are blessed to have been called to this vocation of education and to fulfill it at San Miguel.
Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty through education so our students may prosper and have a better future despite their circumstances. We offer hope and the ability to dream in this, the spring of their lives.
It’s as if Merriam-Webster knew about San Miguel and wrote this definition just for us.
Ms.RackleySan Miguel is a testimony to how a group of children can thrive in a nurturing environment where people believe in them, where they feel they belong, and where they can contribute.
Our amazing school educates the whole student and engages the entire family. Our impact goes beyond dismissal time because our exciting enrichment programs allow our children to reap benefits that enhance classroom learning. Through outstanding opportunities and extracurricular activities, they sharpen their skills and build confidence and curiosity.
It just would not be San Miguel without soccer, volleyball, running club, art and craft club, chess club, entrepreneurial club, culinary program, healthy lifestyle, and more!
San Miguel is more than just a school - it is a community where there is a discernible culture for students, faculty, staff, and families of shared values, respect, and expectations.
Our students leave the school knowing they can make a difference in their own lives and in the lives of others.

Estas letras me recuerdan mucho a nuestros estudiantes. Vienen a nuestra escuela y comunidad cada Otoño y crecen de muchas maneras.
Cuando llega la primavera, están floreciendo y extendiendo sus alas a medida que crecen en la fe y el conocimiento proporcionado a cada uno por nuestra destacada facultad y personal, y por sus compañeros de clase.

No hace falta decir que Dios ya conoce el futuro de todos y cada uno de nuestros estudiantes.

Esta es una gran palabra para esta época del año.
Después de la oscuridad y el frío extensos del Invierno, y aunque la Primavera no llegará hasta dentro de unas semanas, es bueno escuchar palabras como "florecer", "crecer" y "florecer", y luego notar los resultados físicos en nuestro entorno. Es la Tierra despertando de su profundo sueño.
Como educadores, usamos muchas de éstas palabras para describir los cambios que vemos en nuestros estudiantes.
En San Miguel, tenemos la oportunidad de guiar y desafiar a
nuestros estudiantes durante tres años a medida que avanzan en la escuela intermedia.
Los vemos crecer físicamente en altura de año en año. A medida que superan la timidez o la falta de confianza en sí mismos, a menudo decimos que es como verlos "florecer". De un año a otro, a medida que mejoran sus habilidades académicas y sociales, nos referimos a ellos como florecientes.
Tenemos la suerte de tener padres que confían en nosotros con sus preciosos hijos durante éste momento tan impredecible y emotivo de sus vidas. Somos bendecidos de haber sido llamados a ésta vocación de educar y cumplirla en San Miguel.
Nuestra misión es romper el ciclo de la pobreza a través de la educación para que nuestros estudiantes puedan prosperar y tener un mejor futuro a pesar de sus circunstancias. Ofrecemos esperanza y la capacidad de soñar en éstaPrimavera de sus vidas. Es como si Merriam-Webster supiera de San Miguel y escribiera ésta definición solo para nosotros.
Sra.RackleySan Miguel es un testimonio de cómo un grupo de niños puede prosperar en un entorno enriquecedor donde las personas creen en ellos, sienten que pertenecen y pueden contribuir.
Nuestra increíble escuela educa loa estudiante e involucra a toda la familia. Nuestro impacto va más allá de la hora de salida porque nuestros fascinantes programas de enriquecimiento permiten a nuestros estudiantes obtener beneficios que mejoran el aprendizaje en el salón de clases.
