The 1960s A. Terry Bahill ’63, Professor Emeritus, Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering at the University of Arizona, found a new passion for 16th century nautical maps. He does extensive research to determine the origin and dates the maps were created and published two peer-reviewed papers on his work. Gilbert Velez ’67 has dedicated his life to helping high school and college students through mariachi music. After graduating from the University of Arizona, Gilbert was one of the four original Changos who formed the original Mariachi Cobre. In 1981, he formed International Mariachi America and has helped countless musicians since.

The 1970s Dr. Millicent Eidson ’70 has retired as a veterinary epidemiologist with the New York State Department of Health after 20 years, following previous work with the New Mexico Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She continues as public health faculty with the University at Albany and

Her public health communication through creative writing was featured on 9/22/21 at Big Blend Radio: Microbial Mystery Author Dr Millicent Eidson on Big Blend Radio - YouTube. Awards for short works include Best Play in Synkroniciti and honorable mention from the Arizona Mystery Writers. Dr. Eidson’s debut medical thriller in an alphabetical series about diseases from animals, zoonoses, is “Anthracis: A Microbial Mystery,” available at Amazon and orders through bookstores or libraries. Beatriz Cornejo ’92 recently started her own business, BEA-utiful Photography. Beatriz is a Los Angeles-based landscape photographer, whose passion lies in capturing nature’s beauty. When she first stood behind the lens in photography class at Salpointe, she knew that she had found her passion. Mick Dalrymple ’83 was recently named University of Southern California’s first Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO). USC is focusing on prioritizing sustainability and building a greener campus. In addition to overseeing the Office of Sustainability, he will also co-chair Folt’s Sustainability Coordinating Council. Mick’s career in environmental leadership and education spans over 30 years.

Nicholas Bahill ’00 was recently promoted to Master aboard the Roll-on Roll-off cargo ship, Freedom, with American Roll-on Roll-Off Carrier Group (ARC). ARC operates nine ships currently engaged in trades worldwide. After graduating from Salpointe in 2000, Bahill reported to the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY where he earned a degree in Logistics and Intermodal Transportation. Upon graduation in 2004, Bahill was commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy Strategic Sealift Officer Corps. Bahill began his seagoing career as a Third Officer aboard a civilian crewed military transport vessel the USNS 1st LT Harry L. Martin in 2004. Bahill has continued his career for the past 17 years as a civilian mariner sailing aboard a vast array of vessels including containerships, oil tankers, heavy lift ships, military transports and car carriers.

Robert Mac ’86 recently returned to campus to perform his “Back to School” comedy special for alums. Robert is an award-winning comedian, known for his clever and clean comedy. This event was extra special because it was filmed and will air on Amazon. For more information, visit: robertmac.com
