Solar Oven Throwdown

Racing the Sun

Seniors in Salpointe’s Engineering 102 class attended the Solar Oven Throwdown at the U of A, working with over 300 college engineering students. Engineering 102 is a dual credit engineering course offered at Salpointe in partnership with the U of A.

Salpointe’s Racing the Sun solar kart teams won first place innovation and second place oral presentation awards at this year’s Race Day competition in April.

Advanced Engineering

STEM Showcase

Advanced Engineering students were certified in Industry Standard Solidworks, a CAD/CAM program used by engineers and designers. They also built drones and became licensed to operate them after passing the FAA’s Recreational UAS Safety Test.

For the first time in two years we hosted our STEM Showcase in person. The theme was “Saving the Wild Wild West.” We had over 59 engineering, programming and science projects displayed at the showcase.
