LEADERSHIP THAT DELIVERS

LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT

LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT

First, business leaders were responsible for managing the effects of Brexit, then the Covid pandemic, with strong leadership central to how businesses navigated unprecedented times and working-from-home models. Now business leaders from every sector face a tangled web of new issues related to rising business and living costs, fierce competition for talent and widening skills gaps.

Unsurprisingly, recent research conducted with businesses across the North West has indicated that 1 in 4 organisations have identified a need for enhanced leadership and management training.

“1 IN 4 ORGANISATIONS HAVE IDENTIFIED A NEED FOR

Nationally, poor management is estimated to cost UK employers around £84 billion* a year and collectively we recognise the huge challenges currently faced by those tasked with leading businesses in these unprecedented times.

In response, we want to help businesses innovate and transform by supporting the development of essential leadership and management skills at all levels.

Our experience in the sector is broad; currently, Salford City College Group supports around 1,800 apprentices, working with 600 employers across the North West, with more than 200 people recently completing leadership and management programmes and achieving a 100% pass rate.

Our delivery model is people-centred and designed to support aspiring, middle, service-level, and senior leaders. We work closely with organisations to understand their leadership values, current pressures, and priorities. This allows us to create workshops and guidance that is relatable and can be easily applied at work. Additionally, the programme offers peer learning activities to build relationships with colleagues at similar organisations.

If you feel leaders and managers within your organisation would benefit from this style of tailored training, which can be funded by your apprenticeship Levy, please contact our Apprenticeship Team at Salford City College.

We look forward to working with you.

“I’VE LEARNT SO MUCH DURING MY TIME ON THE APPRENTICESHIP, NOT ONLY ABOUT BEING A TEAM LEADER AND SUPERVISOR, BUT ABOUT MYSELF. I FEEL MY CONFIDENCE HAS IMPROVED A LOT AND I’M ABLE TO FULFIL MY ROLE EVEN BETTER THAN I COULD BEFORE. I STARTED WITH NO KNOWLEDGE OR EXPERIENCE BEING A TEAM LEADER AND ENDED UP BEING PROMOTED INTO THIS ROLE DURING THE COURSE OF MY APPRENTICESHIP. THE SUPPORT I HAD THROUGHOUT THE COURSE WAS GREAT AND ANY QUESTIONS OR ISSUES I HAD WERE SOLVED QUICKLY.”
