ROTARYCLUBPEJAINAUGURATESTHE9/11"MEMORYANDFRIENDSHIP" MEMORIAL
Today, Rotary Club of Peja is inaugurating the memorial “Memory and Friendship”, and we are proud to have built the first Memorial in Southeast Europe with an authentic steel beam from the Twin Towers, donated by the New York Fire Department. We appreciate Mr. Carl Scheetz and the Fire Department of New York, Municipality of Peja, ELSA Group, Immigrand Studio and all those who have contributed to build this unique memorial that will further strengthen the friendship between Kosovo and the United States of America.

Today, we pause to reflect on the barbaric attacks that took place on 9/11 and to remember the victims, almost 3,000 people from more than 90 countries who lost their lives at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in rural Pennsylvania. Today, we remember the emergency workers, police and firemen who still bare the physical and mental scarce of that day. But, there is a lesson learned from that day: we learned from this tragedy that life is short and there is no time for hate. We owe it to the victims of 9/11, to the veterans and to our future generation to continue protecting our way of life, so that evil will never triumph.
God Bless America and God Bless Kosovo! Thank you!
