Dear Rotaractors!
We hope everyone has been doing great lately. We are proud to present the August edition of Tarang. This newsletter is a small step towards the larger goal of the Rotaract Club of Bangalore. In the current issue, we have covered the events organized by us in August. This month, we saw some impactful projects including Independence day, fellowship activity, and the program on financial literacy. Let us keep our Rotaract spirits high and continue working on meaningful projects. We are enthralled to witness your energy, and we wish to see many more members grabbing any opportunity presented to shine. We will continue to have exciting and impactful projects in the future as well.
As promised, We are continuing RCB’s Got Talent, a section in our newsletter solely dedicated to showcasing our achievements, talent, and creations in their personal and professional life. Having said that, we have also added a couple of new features going forward. We are always open to your suggestions regarding the addition of new features to our newsletter.
We once again encourage our members to make use of Tarang’s special column, RCB’s Got Talent. We love seeing our members accessing their creative side!
We hope you enjoy reading this edition of Tarang as much as we enjoyed creating and designing it for you!

The Club Service Avenue planned for a fellowship activity in The Living Room on August 13th, 2022. On reaching the venue we were informed that “The Living Room” had been booked by another team completely. So, we decided on another venue “Azure Café” on the spot and started moving towards the same. By the time we settled in, it was already 1.30 PM.
We ordered a few snacks and Pizzas. We had a good chat along with food, discussed various projects, and overall made it a fun day. Further, we proceeded to RHF for video creation and photoshoot

RCB Speaker Series: Financial Literacy
The project “Financial Literacy” was a part of RCB Speaker Series, by the speaker Vinod Kumar. He was mentored by Deepak Rao, founder of Simplus Financial consultancy, and follows the principles of Benjamin Graham and Warren Buffet. He has been taking sessions and educating people through online platforms. The session touched upon the basics of inflation, good financial habits, power of compounding, investment avenues, and non-investment platforms. The session started by illustrating the basic examples of daily life like college fee, milk /groceries price 10 years ago and now to understand inflation.
The objective of this webinar was to fill the gap in the consultancy industry and create awareness of investment principles and strategies. Keeping this in mind, Vinod Kumar shared his principles of financial management such as saving a minimum of 30% of the net income, reducing debt, investing early, investing regularly, investing for the long-term, and investing a dominant portion of the money into wealth-enhancing investment avenues.
He also gave the idea of major investment avenues like debt funds, equity, real estate, and gold, and explained how insurance is risk management but not a wealth management investment. Vinod also explained trading, crypto, chit fund, co-operative society deposits, chain linked schemes are not good investment ideas. By explaining financial behaviors like loss aversion, endowment effect, status quo bias, sunk cost fallacy the session was concluded.
