Message from the Editorial and Publications Team Hello, fellow Rotaractors!

We hope everyone is safe at home and vaccinated.

The Editorial and Publications team is proud to present the monthly newsletter, Tarang. The word 'Tarang' means wave in Hindi. The idea being, you receive every edition of the newsletter as if it's coming towards you like a calm wave. Tarang will cover all events, projects, announcements and accomplishments of our club, which will keep you updated every month. We are enthralled to release our official newsletter, and we hope to encourage you to participate in all our projects and events throughout this year. We will keep all reports short and sweet. It is a small but meaningful step towards creating a bond among all of our fellow members.

The purpose of Rotaract Club of Bangalore is to provide an opportunity for young men and women to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities, and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship.

This newsletter is a small step towards the larger goal. In the current issue, we have covered the events organized by us in the month of July. Due to the ongoing pandemic, we were unable to do fieldwork, but we organised online events which were fruitful and engaging. We hope to start working on the ground as soon as the situation improves. We appreciate your endurance in these tough times. As much as we enjoy making Tarang, we hope you enjoy reading it!

Message from the President Greetings to all!

As we enter the new Rota Year, I wish to highlight and bring clarity to our goals and mission for this year.

Whatever the future may bring, we will build a robust foundation and continue to evolve beyond the boundaries of Rotaract Club of Bangalore, as we aim to become a value-creative group.

We will take on the challenge of creating new paths and aim for long-term value enhancement without changing the underlying spirit. I would like to take this opportunity to express my profound gratitude to my most energetic & trustworthy Board of 2021-22.

The underlying spirit of 2021-22 remains unchanged Innovation is happening right now all around us, whether we participate in it or not. Everything is moving at an accelerated pace, including technological breakthroughs, and, in some cases, things that have previously taken many small steps can now be achieved in a single bound. As a team, we are focused on involving ourselves in this transformation entirely.

A club is only as good as the achievements of its members For RCB, members are the most valued asset. Ultimately, a club is only as good as the accumulated achievements of each and every one of our members. This year, RCB is also working on collaboration which will enhance the power to serve. A true review should reflect each member’s contribution in achieving the goals set by the club. As such, it is equally important to clarify what is expected of each member and to identify those expectations as individual missions. As a member, it is extremely discouraging to feel that evaluations are not being properly conducted, so we have introduced a system by which, each year, the mission and expectations for each member are clearly identified and defined.

Working towards restoring trust In light of the current year, I must express my deep gratitude to my team, who have started their journey in keeping positive and maintaining a good aim in serving society and doing justice to RCB. Personally, I am enthralled to work with such an energetic team. I have quite a lot learn and explore from all the individuals of RCB. This year looks very energetic and promising with a huge Board and new faces with positive vibes and mutual support I am confident that we can produce results. Please look forward to great things from RCB!!!

Greetings!

It gives me immense pleasure to address the Members of one of the oldest Rotaract Clubs of 3190.

Rotaract Club of Bangalore has a rich history of revolutionary leaders and a huge list of PDRRs constantly supporting and guiding Rotaractors and Clubs through the years.

Under the leadership of the newly elected President Rtr. Nandan, I'm sure his ambitious attitude will radiate energy amongst the Members and help the Club grow to even greater heights.

On behalf of the entire Team Spectra, we wish Rtr. Nandan and his team all the very best for the year to come. We are looking forward to seeing the members Serve to Change Lives and become Change Makers by exploring the Prism of Possibilities through Rotaraction.

Message from ZRR Dear Rotarians and Rotaractors, It gives me immense pleasure to write a few words for this monthly E-magazine "TARANG" of Rotaract club of Bangalore. I extend my appreciation to President Rtr. Nandan and the entire team for coming up with such an initiative. RCB has been one of the oldest and well-named recognized clubs in RID 3190 and since then it has been progressing well by setting benchmarks for many aspiring Rotaractors. I hope this magazine will be one such milestone in your progress.

"revamp the future" The goal is to take Rotaract Club of Bangalore to new heights, to achieve great things and to give equal importance to all avenues in the club and come up with innovative projects and events for the year. Through this, we can focus on the holistic development of our members and the club, thereby revamping the future.

Events of June and July 2021 Board of Directors First Meeting The first meeting with the new BODs of 2021-22 on 5th June, 2021 was a grand success. The meeting was a great way for the board members to break the ice and get to know each other well. We also had a fellowship round, consisting of games conducted by Rtr. Chaula (Secretary – Admin) & Rtr. Joseph (Advisor). This was a fun-filled and casual event which made our connection stronger. The Board of Directors are energetic, motivated and committed to delivering their best for the club.

Orientation and Training of Board of Directors by Alumni The entire event’s objective was to impart training to the new BODs by our own Alumni, consisting of Past Presidents and Past District Rotaract Representatives. The training sessions were spread across 17th to 20th June, 2021. The event was structured for the four avenues and the President, VP and Secretaries. Highly experienced and qualified trainers were brought in to do the same. It was customized for the trainees, which covered the technical and general parts of their roles and responsibilities.

Overall, the imitative was fruitful, which was seen in the glowingly positive feedback received by the Board. The trainers gave individual attention to all the BODs and solved all their queries with experienced solutions.

Meeting with ZRRs The idea of connecting with the ZRR was to give a brief view on the plan of action prepared by the Board for the 1st quarter. This meeting was conducted on 5th July 2021. This meeting’s secondary objective was for the Board to connect with the ZRRs for this year. All the BODs were introduced to the ZRRs in the meeting and it was a grand success.

Hepatitis Can’t Wait This project was done as a Professional Service Avenue initiative to spread awareness about Hepatitis on World Hepatitis Day on 28th July 2021. The Chief Guest, Dr. Adarsh C K, MD, DNB (Gastro) conducted an important and informative session on hepatitis which included A brief introduction to hepatitis, its types, epidemiology, causes, signs and symptoms, tests performed, mode of transmission, treatment, vaccination, myths and stigma attached to hepatitis and prevention. The session ended with a Q&A discussion. The Professional Services team organized this event meticulously and it was the first project of the year.

Sister Club Agreement As an International Service avenue project, we partnered with Rotaract Club of Mumbai Western Elite, RID 3141 for a Sister Club Agreement on 30th July, 2021 which entailed exchanging letterheads, thereby indicating mutual support for each other’s upcoming project in the International Avenue. We supported their club for a Friendship Day event on 9th August, 2021. In the meeting, introductions of the clubs and Board of Directors were done, and we exchanged letterheads and talked about some upcoming projects. The project was a success.
