San Diego offers a variety of Michelin rated restaurants for the gourmand. The region offers two 1 Star, Sushi Tadokoro and Soichi, sushi eateries and one 3 Star restaurant, the Addison. The others on the list have either a Michelin Recommended or Bib Gourmand ratings.
Bib Gourmand are all unique and can vary greatly from one place to the next. What Bib restaurants do have in common is their simpler style of cooking, which is recognizable and easy-to-eat. A Bib Gourmand restaurant will also leave you with a sense of satisfaction, at having eaten so well at such a reasonable price.
If you try any of these restaurants, share your opinion with your neighbors through the Villa Novia Voice.

THE VILLA NOVIA
Perseid Meteor Shower
Space enthusiasts may take advantage of the peak viewing of the Perseid meteor shower (also known as the Perseids). It is active every year from mid-July to late August and the next Perseids shooting star display will peak around the night of August 12th and before dawn on August 13th. Although the moon will be only 50% illuminated at the time of the Perseids' peak, it will set around midnight, so there will be dark skies until dawn — perfect for meteor hunting! The Perseids are caused by Earth passing through debris — bits of ice and rock — left behind by Comet Swift-Tuttle which last passed close to Earth in 1992.
San Diego Dog Park Named Best in the Nation
USA Today recently recognized Fiesta Island Dog Park, located within Mission Bay Park, as the best of its kind in the nation. With 90 acres of space, numerous activities are available for pet owners and pets to roam. Their off-leash area, as well as the beach along Mission Bay, gives visitors the ability to swim or play fetch with their pets.
Stroll with the dog on walking trails at the park as it offers scenic views of Mission Bay. The area features eateries with dog friendly dining. Parking is also a convenience for guests as it is near the park’s entrances.
Mission Bay Park is less than 20 minutes away from Villa Novia. It gives dog owners a chance to escape the heat of the valley and afford your dog some quality play.
Crestridge Ecological Reserve
For those seeking a hiking adventure close to home, the Crestridge Ecological Reserve is a large island of habitat (about 3,000 acres) almost entirely surrounded by residential development. It is bounded on the north by Interstate 8, on the east by Harbison Canyon, on the south by Mountain View and La Cresta Rds., and on the southwest by La Cresta Rd.
Vegetation types found within the reserve include coastal sage scrub, chaparral, oak woodlands with coast live oaks and Engelmann’s oaks, as well as riparian and grassland. It is also home to hawks, owls, woodpeckers, gnatcatchers, southern mule deer, coyotes, bobcats, foxes, mountain lions, horned lizards, and rattlesnakes. To top it off, there are beautiful views of El Cajon, Lake Jennings, and even the Pacific Ocean on a clear day.

Sycuan Casino Resort Staycation
In our endless selfless quest to discover things to do and places to go in our community, we invested our hard-earned money in a staycation at the Sycuan Casino Resort.
Having previously signed up to receive email notifications of the wide variety of programs and events Sycuan hosts, a two-night hotel stay promotion was received. We have taken advantage of this before and we were anxious to take advantage again.
Sycuan contains one of our all-time favorite resort amenities, the lazy river. If you have never experienced the relaxing, tranquil benefits of drifting along a slow-moving body of water, you have missed out. One merely selects a complimentary inner tube. Some prefer to stick their head through the center of the tube or some favor (my preference) sitting on the tube and just stretching out. The rest is easy. One simply allows the current to float you to peaceful bliss.
The resort offers a variety of dining choices from one of its eight on-site restaurants as well as the pool side food and beverage service. A superb spa offers a vast variety of services to pamper oneself. Beautiful rooms and diverse gaming options afford guests a wonderful and pleasurable escape.
