Track and trace The entire production chain of the day-old chicks must be traceable. For the purpose of track and trace, many countries require hatching eggs to be stamped with a code.

Each hatching egg is stamped with a code stating at least the country of origin, the producer code and a hatching egg code.
Export eggs also state the date of laying.
