2024 has another surprise on the horizon – a solar eclipse. On April 8th, the moon will pass between the Sun and the Earth, casting its shadow across North America. This rare astronomical event will start in Mexico, enter the U.S. through Texas and stop in Canada.

A total solar eclipse won’t happen again for 20 years, so those in its path plan to celebrate!

Best seat in the house

Atop the coastal town of Mazatlán in Sinaloa, Mexico stands El Faro Lighthouse. You wouldn’t be able to tell from the unassuming architecture, but El Faro is the highest lighthouse in the Americas! Viewing the eclipse from this landmark would be an incredible experience. Just be prepared to hike twenty minutes up to the lighthouse and pay the twenty pesos ($1) entry fee to enjoy the out-of-this-world view.

Texas will welcome in good cosmic energy with the Texas Eclipse Festival. This celestial celebration taps into the astrological appeal of the solar eclipse with live music and performative art exhibitions. And in true Texas fashion, they plan to go big with luxurious glamping packages and seven stages for musical performances. If you attend you might bump into our own Grady Raymer, Director of Field Sales –talk about the stars aligning!

Falls and fireworks

The last stop on the eclipse’s journey is Canada. If this astronomical event couldn’t get any cooler, Niagara Falls State Park will offer unobstructed viewing of the eclipse next to the iconic waterfalls. Programs led by rocket scientists and real astronauts will be offered leading up to the moment the moon crosses the sun’s path. Niagara Falls will then give a final send-off to the eclipse with a spectacular fireworks display.

Broadband Label Workshop

Learn more about the latest FCC Requirements

We believe in Customer transparency and support the new FCC broadband label requirements. Beginning April 10, all mobile and fixed internet providers will be required to provide transparent labels listing their fees, promotional pricing, as well as typical speeds and latency in a way that Customers can easily compare across providers.

To comply, Ultra Mobile is sending you two pieces of important collateral. As a Retailer selling our wireless service, you must display one of the two pieces of collateral by 4/10 and direct Customers to read them if enquired about “broadband facts” or “broadband labels.”

FCC Requirements At-A-Glance:

Any person providing broadband internet access service shall create and display an accurate broadband consumer label for each stand-alone broadband internet access service it currently offers for purchase.

Collateral Guidelines At-A-Glance

Brochure Backer Placement: Please place these backer cards behind the current Ultra Mobile brochure in the brochure holders.

The label must be prominently displayed, publicly available, and easily accessible to consumers, including consumers with disabilities, at the point of sale with the content and in the format prescribed by the Commission in [Fixed or Mobile] Broadband Consumer Disclosure.

Tear Pad Placement: Please place the tear pad on the front counter or in an area where you and the Customer can easily access it.

The Affordable Connectivity Program is Retiring

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is being defunded. As you may know, this governmentfunded program has been providing $30 wireless discounts for qualified Customers. This discount program can be defunded as soon as April 30. Carriers offering ACP have begun notifying subscribers about the cancellation, and we expect many to start looking for more affordable solutions.
