"Adopting my furry friend wasn't just about giving a home; it was about finding a piece of my heart that was missing. Every wag, every purr – they're not just sounds, they're the echoes of gratitude and love that remind me every day that I made the best decision of my life."
RESCUE ONE ADOPTER
Pi’s journey captures the essence of survival and compassion that can overcome even the most difficult challenges.
After an encounter with a coyote, Pi was wounded, frightened, and in desperate need of help. A community member immediately contacted us and our team sprung into action. One of his legs was partially missing and had to be amputated. Our team spent the next few days nursing his wounds and ensuring his physical well-being He then went into a foster home to finish his recovery.
What happens next was amazing!
After a few weeks, Pi not only heals physically but also emotionally. His once-fearful eyes begin to sparkle with trust He thrived in his foster home and stole the heart of a wonderful family who adopted him Pi’s story is a reminder to all of us that animals have an innate ability to touch our souls, while families have the power to offer a second chance.
Esmeralda Finds a Loving Home
When our rescue team first encountered this beautiful Husky, it was a sight that pulled at our heartstrings. The poor pup had endured severe neglect As days turned into weeks, her transformation was remarkable. In a heartwarming turn of events, Esmeralda has finally found the forever home that she truly deserves
Wrigley's transformative journey was possible because of your support and is a great example of what taking chances and time can do!
In June we met a stray cat who navigated the city streets alone. His injured tail was a testament to the hardships he had faced. A kind-hearted individual contacted us about Wrigley and we knew we had to help. When he arrived at Rescue One, he was examined by Dr. Keisker who determined that his injured tail was beyond saving. The decision was made to amputate the tail to alleviate his pain and improve his quality of life
As he was recovering, he began to display his charming personality, proving that even a difficult past could be forgotten by the promise of a brighter future All of our clinic staff are absolutely in love with him! He is patiently waiting for his forever home where he will never know the challenges of the streets again. If you are interested in meeting him, fill out an application on our website!

"Fostering isn't just about providing shelter; it's about being a stepping stone on an incredible journey. With every paw that enters my home, I'm reminded that I have the power to make a difference – to heal wounds, mend hearts, and be a bridge to a brighter future."
In July our team set out to rescue dogs from a puppy mill that was going out of business. Approaching the rows of makeshift cages, we saw the hollow gazes of dogs that had known nothing but the cold, hard bars that surrounded them. Puppies lay crammed into small, filthy enclosures, while their mothers were cowering in the corners An older dog came to the front of a cage, his eyes were windows to a lifetime of suffering, a silent plea for an end to the pain he had endured for far too long. The heartbreak of that visit was a stark reminder of how the laws allow animals to be treated in our state. But amidst the heartbreak, there was a spark of hope. It was the knowledge that people were working tirelessly to rescue and rehabilitate these innocent lives, to give them the love and care they so desperately deserve. We will continue fighting for a world where every life is treated with compassion and kindness.
Ezra, covered in urine and feces, getting a much needed shave from our friends at the Barker Shoppe!
In April, two Boston Terriers came in that were going to be euthanized for fear aggression. Out of all of the dogs in this program, these two were by far the most timid that have come in. After weeks at our clinic with volunteers helping to socialize them, we are happy to report they have both found foster homes! We can't wait to see what the future holds for them!
Our clinic is a busy place where every pawprint counts and every tail wags with gratitude. We're dedicated to providing exceptional medical care for animals in need. With a skilled team and a heartwarming mission, we're here to heal and restore the well-being of all of our furry friends at Rescue One and provides hope to sick and injured stray animals in our community that have no other options.

Make sure your pets have unlimited access to fresh water, and access to shade when outside.
Keep your pet free of parasites, such as fleas, ticks and heartworms. Leave your pets at home if possible when you need to go out and about.
NEVER LEAVE YOUR PET IN A HOT CAR, even in the shade or with windows cracked Cars can overheat quickly to deadly temperatures, even when the weather isn’t severe. Take walks or runs during the cooler hours of the day.
Did you know animal abuse is present in 71% of domestic violence cases? Many victims will stay with their abuser for fear of their pet’s safety should they leave the pet behind and most shelters do not allow pets. Since starting our SafePet Program in July of 2021, 45 pets have found safe haven with us. Our program is unlike any other in the area and we are thrilled to be able to fill in the gaps for animals in need in our community!
After our 14-year-old pitbull died, we were hesitant to get another dog. Four years later, our son (12) was begging for one. ("Mom, I'll give up video games if we could just get a dog!") He found Hopper (then "Lamar") on Rescue One's website and we set up a meeting with the foster Tiffany. About two minutes into that meeting, I knew I couldn't say no to this boy or this dog. The first day we had Hopper, he wouldn't leave my son's side. He quickly won the hearts of every member of the family He loves to chase grasshoppers, make new friends at the dog park, and ride in the car in the hopes of getting a pup cup. We've had Hopper just over a month and he has brought us so much joy He's one of us now, a member of our pack, and part of our family.
Midge is a joy to her new family. After being severely injured, she lost two of her legs. Luckily it was one on each side and she can get around just fine! She can jump on tables, the couch, and the bed with no issue. Her adopter reports that she has adjusted amazingly to their family and they couldn't imagine life without their special Midge!
I'm honored to be part of a rescue that restores faith, heals wounds, and makes the community a kinder place for animals."
